Ladies doing IVF or IUI - 2015 (9 BFPs!)

Thanks for the welcome ladies.
So af came today so that's me.

I'm planning in having the dreaded chat with my manager tomorrow about my IVF. Feeling very apprehensive as she's not the easiest person to talk to.

How is everyone else getting in? xx

That's reassuring MariaIsabella.
Good luck Mel. She would look pretty bad if she wasn't supportive. My manager can be hard faced but she has been very understanding about ivf. People often feel so sorry when they realize what you must have gone through already that they just soften and show their human side.

I hope your meeting with your manager goes okay Mel, I have been so lucky with mine they have been so supportive. Luckily I have the option to work from home so I have made full use of that over the last few weeks. I'm sure the nature of this will show your boys has a softer side. Xx

My boss has been very understanding. His wife has breast cancer so guess he has more important things to think about  and perhaps he realize there are more important things in life than just work.

He got a bit funny when I said I didn't want to travel with work when I start stims but I don't care :)

I'm sure it will be fine Mel

Can anyone remember how many 2015 IVF BFPs we've had? Previous IVF threads have had the number of BFPs on the title and I thought I might add them. I was getting despondent and thinking I was giving everyone bad luck but we do have a few now! (I will retire from hosting this thread at the end of this year whatever happens and someone else can bring some luck!) Anyway so we have Kkheartsbaby with her FET BFP, Poispinner with your amazing 1st time BFP! Can we count Keepitcrossed with her natural BFP after IVF?! Any more I've forgotten?!

Hi ladies, it's been a long time since I've commented but I still check here daily to see how everyone is getting on.

I got my BFP back in July after my 2nd FET and 5 years of TTC. I overstimulated last year, so didn't make transfer during my fresh IVF cycle, and had a failed FET in April.

I know how tough this whole process is and wish everyone the best of luck wherever you are in your journey :clover: :clover: :clover: xx

Doesn't he realize you have to inject at the same time each day and don't want to be carrying drugs and syringes away with you?!

Congratulations eclairef! I'll add you to the list!

Yes, told him. He is fine with it but my job is all about travelling meeting clients so guess its not ideal. Will do this last overnight trip next week and inject in the hotel. Injecting about 7:20 each morning so since its one hour time difference I will have to do it 8:20!

Another question, I am on day 4 of Buserelin ( stopped Microgynon Monday ) and got a bleed 2 days ago, today its quite heavy ( my periods can be ). Is this normal?

Congratulations eclairef!! I love success stories :)
Mariaisabella - I can't advise as I only did short protocol but I will say of your concerned or unsure call the clinic, it's always good to have a little reassurance xxc

Forgot to say congrats to eclairef!! Great to see when it works out in the end :)

Thanks CDA, emailed the nurse and she said its normal to bleed on Buserelin.. Think the nurse will put an "out of office" on soon the amount of times I contact her ;)

Yes its normal to bleed when stopping the pill and if its normally heavy for you then that's ok. It's good when you can email the nurses!

I know, love the emailing!

Actually, normally have another nurse who is not very responsive when calling and not very friendly, then I went for first injection and it was another nurse that day ( my nurse was off ). After the injection she asked me to email a few results over to them so she gave me her email ( She did a big mistake! :) ).

Once back in the office I asked her a few questions after sending the results and she replied really quickly. After that I kept emailing her with questions instead of calling and she is great, always answering really quickly! Can't believe it since NHS and they don't have the same focus on service. Not even my private doctor replies that quickly :)

Hope it all went ok with your boss Mel, I think as long as your a hard worker and they realise you have carried on throughout all this they appreciate that.

MariaIsabella I have acupuncture and she is worth every penny she knows so much about fertility and I can text whenever I need anything.

My follicles didn't grow quickly enough so have abandoned treatment and have to move on to ivf was all a bit of a shock but I managed to get a consultant appointment in 3 weeks so should be doing ivf in November any advise great fully received, I can't face reading the paper work yet xx

Oh wow Laura, that's sudden! Shame the iui had to be abandoned but a lady on here had the same thing, one follicle continued growing and she got pregnant a few weeks later!

Ivf is scary at first but you get used to it. You probably just need to get your head round it at the moment!

Thanks for all the love guys.

Today went really well and my boss was actually lovely.
I was more apprehensive as I also work with my Hubby so it can get difficult with appointments and other people finding out.
A plan is in place and I'm happy.

I'm still finding the whole thing very daunting and not looking forward to having to do the injections, but got a few weeks before I start xx

I just wasn't expecting it was a massive shock I thought we were on for iui today came out a completely different story there were lots of tears xx

No the plan was to see what was happening on Wednesday hopefully do treatment today so hadn't done the shot, but looked like two were growing just not quick enough were still going to try naturally though xx

Yes you never know!
I had an Optician appointment yesterday and he asked me if I was on a medication so I told him, he asked me what it was, I said for IVF and he looked really embarrassed! I find it embarrassing too having to tell people like that about something so private. Does anyone else feel like that?
Went to see friends yesterday, last chance to drink lots of wine before stims! May have gone a bit overboard though, feel rough today!
Glad your meeting went well Mel!

I know what you mean blueflower, I have the dentist coming up and they will ask, someone at work asked why I drink decaf tea and I nearly cried!!
I think sometimes you need a little drink soon enough you won't be able to for nearly a year!! I must admit the wine has been out after Wednesday!! Xx
