Ladies doing IUI or IVF - 2016 (11 BFPs so far!)

It's still not sunk in yet, up til egg collection everything seemed to be going so well and then a week ago I was getting noticeable what felt like symptoms. I'd like to have a cry or something to try and get it out of my system but haven't had it feel like the right time yet. Maybe when my period arrives I will (I'm still taking progesterone to delay it until after I go swimming tomorrow!)

Am trying to plan next round of ivf - will locate a different donor, need to overhaul my diet, drink more water and start doing acupuncture. Beyond that not much I can do except not getting much older I'll be 39 next try.

I think I would feel the same way tinsel, it would probably take the arrival of my period to make it seem real too! You sound positive about your new plan. A new donor definitely sounds good and hopefully this will be your baby!!

Just got a call from the embryologist. 9 of the 11 were mature and all 9 have fertilised!! I can't believe it. She said they're all looking excellent quality and they're happy to do a 5 day transfer on Tuesday!! Feeling so positive & hopeful right now �� Can't believe what a difference a week makes, this time last week I was so down and worried! Xx

Thanks lisey, I'm feeling so happy I really didn't expect it at all, the embryologist sounded so pleased on the phone that gave me another wee boost of positivity!! Xx

I'll probably try and keep away from the site as soon as we start, will maybe update every now and again or just a massive update at the end of the round, we'll see how things go. Was really hoping we would start today but it's not looking likely, my period has 15mins to get here if so lol. Felt for sure it would be here today had bad cramps all night and kept waking up but nope nothing! Ah well not long to go I imagine, Monday it probably is!

xMillie, waiting for AF in order to start IVF is so b****y frustrating! Especially when you're on that time deadline!! I'm waiting for cd1, been spotting for days but it just doesn't seem to be happening. Very best of luck this round!

I'm doing an unmedicated IUI this month, figured it couldn't hurt since I'm back in the UK so not seeing my OH until after ovulation.

I'm only cd27 so I was being very hopeful I guess lol, ah well nothing can be done about it now. I'll be annoyed if it gets to Monday and no sign of af though!

Tinselcat - I came on here to see your BFP so I was really sad to see this wasn't the case. I was expecting good news I've been there myself in cycles where I've felt really positive, been sure something was happening etc only for it to be negative.

I had an appointment with my consultant last week and I'm on the waiting list for a laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and dye in the tubes. It should be in about 8 weeks. I think it will do them good to have a good old dig around and at the very least will confirm everything down there is ok! Xx

Ooo really Syd, I'm not sure how iui works, does it take as long as ivf?


It's annoying but maybe there will be less flow on my first scan, I think I had it done cd1 last time and tmi but ew ew ew lol

I'm having an unmedicated one so literally a couple of scans, some opks and then insemination, probably around day 14. So very quick but not a high chance of success. I'm working on the theory I got pregnant twice last year naturally but ivf failed so maybe my body doesn't like the drugs. Plus I'm only in the uk for 3 weeks...

Are you short protocol?
