***June 2018 Mums***

Had my first bloods at 9.30 and the drink for my glucose tolerance test. Now sat for 2 hours wait for next test! I'm in antenatal clinic waiting room woman next to me eating crisps I'm gonna punch her soon after no food or drink since 8 last night lol

Do you go to docs for whooping cough? I’m clueless!

Anxiety is in full swing at the moment, stressing so much about baby movements it’s ridiculous. Have a 45 minute assessment with a therapy person later so will see what they suggest is best for me! I hate that I’m making my husband worry about me as I’m panicking over too much movement one minute and not enough the next. Aaarghhh! 14 weeks to go.. I can do this!

Midwife just told me ring doctors and book in any time after 23 weeks hun. I worry continually on the movement front so com0letely sympathise! I'm 24 weeks today my first was stillborn at 27 weeks so from now onwarrds i will struggle to control my anxiety. Its sad we dobt get to enjoy pregnancy xx

I’ll ring up tomorrow then and see if they can fit me in!

Sorry to hear about your previous pregnancy :(. I’m 26 weeks today according to scan dates and it’s gettingg ridiculous this anxiety! Rang midwife last week because I thought it was moving excessively, she told me not to worry, then yesterday I freaked out as it wasn’t moving as much although I had felt it a little bit, got myself in a right tiz and now today it’s back to being crazy again so far! Husband reckoned I was also stressing about the birth and I said I can’t even think about that yet (although it really does scare the hell out of me) as I’m so worried about movement and other things that can happen between now and brith...think we’re all in for a stressful few months and then life time!!!

Arghhhh heartburn is horrrible! Has anyone got any home remedies?! :(

Not had it yet but I’ve heard ginger can be good and chewing gum after eating?
Assuming you’ve tried the usual ‘eat small meals blah blah’?!

Had a really productive 2 days of sorting stuff out around the house which is making me feel good but then I stress it’s still too early ... I swear I’ll be saying it’s too early when I’m in labour!!

Made a little choc sponge cake too so gonna stuff myself with that tonight and send the baby high on sugar haah

Yeah my friend recommended ginger and fennel tea but the sound of that makes me feel sick haha! I’ll try the chewing gum trick! Yeah have tried the small meals but it’s a load of rubbish haha!

Owh I’m a mega organised person so we’ve got so much stuff already and the nursery’s being painted this weekend! Everyone keeps telling me it’s too early which is now making me a bit paranoid but at the end of the day anytime from 24 weeks the baby could come and has a good survival rate! So I would rather be organised! Plus I wanna get everything sorted before summer hits as I don’t wanna be waddling around all hot and swollen having to sort stuff haha! I’d rather be enjoying the summer!

I'm still looking at furniture, thinking of just getting an ordinary wardrobe instead of a nursery one, not sure if it's just a gimmick!
Making my own bunting for above the cot, haven't seen since 1st year at the school (English equivalent is year 8 I think!) So it might be a disaster hahaha. My wee gran will be there to help, and probably end up doing it .

I've thought about this as a fundraiser (attached). My mum did it for me and my twin bro when we were due

We’re not doing a nursery as such, house is brand new so can’t be bothered decorating! We’re going to get a new lampshade and probs some curtains but everything else is staying as it is for now. We have done a massive tidy up and clear out so the ‘nursery’ is more of a baby room rather than our junk room hahah but that’s it

We are going to get a basic wardrobe from the kids section in IKEA and that’s about it. We have some storage in the room already with black material boxes in so we are going to clear the stuff out into the loft and buy colourful boxes instead.

Still need to buy a travel system but going to baby event show thing at Trafford Centre in a few weeks so will have a look there. Still seems so far off and that time is dragging although my husband thinks it’s flying by!

Still don’t have a massive bump at all either :(

Bloomin' weather! We're due to go to the Baby show at the London Excel Friday and we've got a shed load of snow today with more to come Thursday and Friday. Keeping fingers crossed but not holding out much hope.
Princess, I've decided pregnancy is like no other time ever. Some days it feels like there is ages until June 27th and then others, the date is speeding towards us like a runaway train and we're very unprepared. Hey ho. Some days people tell me my bump is massive and then someone else will tell me how small I am. It's a bit confusing as I've no idea what the 'right size' is. Don't think having a low growth hormone is helping me when people say that stuff as it makes me a bit paranoid.
Is anyone else having to have extra growth scans?

Hey ladies!

Sorry, I've been a bit absent - 2 weeks off work and no computer access haha.

I've missed a lot of chat! I've had a quick scan to try and catch up. I had my whooping cough vaccination at 16 weeks, and remember having a dead arm for several days after it.

Sorry to read about your previous pregnancy Spriddy :(

Did you make it to the baby show HS?

Lovely to hear about some of you getting organised! We did a lot while I was on leave. The nursery won't be painted (it used to be our spare room, so is orange and yellow) but I've put jungle stickers up on the walls, and the furniture is now assembled and bracketed to walls. It's starting to feel very real! CMcDx - I also felt nursery furniture was a bit of a con (and crazy money) so have just bought an ordinary wardrobe and chest of drawers - we'll probably make do with them for at least 10 years haha. I've got a jungle lightshade and a brightly coloured wooden mobile (Noah's ark!) for over the cot arriving this week so I'm super excited for that.

I'm in the 'speeding towards us' camp. I have 12 weeks left in work - how did that happen?!

Also, currently feeling huge! I'm trying not to get on the scales more than once a week as I know my gain is really good so far but I cant help feeling paranoid watching the scales creep up haha. My 24 week apt was cancelled due to snow so I'm looking forward to that this Friday.

Anyone got a name yet? We've managed to whittle our list down to 4! I'm not sure I can bring myself to make a proper decision before little Bean arrives.

Hope you are all well. x

Hi Summerwine,

Sounds like a lovely productive time off! We got our nursery half painted before my hubby decided he needed to build wardrobes from scratch. The whole room is now covered in sawdust and the paint pots have been put to one side! lol. We made it to the baby show though and it was well worth it. Good bargains and full demo's on all the things we wants. Car seat, buggy, carrier and cot all sorted and we saved ourselves a good £200 by going. A small drop in the ocean overall but still :)

I'm 3 months til mat leave today. Crazy huh! Hope your 24 wk appointment goes/ has gone well. x

I need your help...

Anyone else had a lot of pelvic pain??
I took a day's holiday from work last week and two days so far this week because it's too painful for me to do 5 days now.
I'm crawling going up the stairs, struggle driving.
Been well over a week and the midwife said paracetamol and if the pain persists to get in touch with the doctor.
I just feel like this pain is extreme and not just niggly pains.
Do I phone the 24hr midwife? My next appointment isn't til next Wednesday.
Don't know how I'll be able to face work tomorrow but I have to, don't get sick pay yet.

That sounds awful CMcDx. I've had some pretty intense but intermittent pain which is getting more frequent and my midwife iimmediately said it sound like the beginning of PGP/ SPD. She's told me to try to control it with paracetomol the same as you but said that they will refer me for physio if I want it. It's basically been kicking in since bubs and bump have grown to mean my gravity centre is shifting.
The things I have found helps are: a bump band (amazon for £10 - I got one that comes in 2 parts so I can use it fully towards the end but semi whilst I'm still a bit small), moving my legs in unison rather than 1 at a time when bending, sitting, twisting or turning over in bed ( I have even gone up the stairs on my bum once!), I've banished my heels (heartbroken!), don't rush anything and I have started seeing a private osteo which is helping. Oh and don't cross your legs while sitting in any chairs and heated bean bags are your friend. One, all or none may help with this but it's what I'm doing. I really hope you feel better soon x

Your hubby sounds handy to have around HS! I wish my hubby could build furniture lol.

That sounds horrendous CMcDx. I know this is a delayed response, so I hope you've managed to speak to your dr/midwife and get some help with this now? I've had a little pain in my hips when moving about and especially manoeuvring in and out of the car, but nothing that's warranted pain relief so I've no suggestions I'm sorry! Fingers crossed you're feeling better.

It must be almost time for some of you ladies to start the jump into Tri 3?! I can't believe I'm even saying that. I've had my maternity letter through from work today confirming my leave dates and dates for different payments. It's suddenly feeling eerily close...

I ordered a pelvic support and have done all of the above :( my midwife says she'll refer for physio but due to the huge waiting list i might not get seen in time!!

I think I go in to 3rd trimester on Thursday ... eek!!!!!

Scary how close it's getting.

Keep having little breakdowns at the thought of having a baby. So excited but so nervous at the same time. Not the Labour or That, just having responsibility for life haha

EDIT: I'm getting conflicting info, Google says I'm not third trimester until beginning of week 28 but this forum and my app says I'm already 3rd at the start of week 27.
