***June 2018 Mums***

Summer - very pleased - wanted a girl even though I’m such a tomboy! Obviously a healthy baby is all I want but a girl was my vote !!
Had a few name conversations, we differ quite a lot on what we like in names so it’s gong to take a while. We both don’t want anything too common but a few we thought of were more common than we thought and were in the top 50 so hubby instantly got rid of them off the list! He bought me a name book for xmas so will go through that and make some lists and see if we agree, plenty of time still to go though. I also thought it was going to be a boy and def like more girls names than boys so I thought it’s be easier to find names...until we had a discussion last night hahaha

Ooo princess I’m the same as you but the other way round! I’d like a boy but happy either way! I cannot wait to find out!

Off to my first aquanatal class tonight! Any of you ladies joined any classes?

Are you guys planning on having a baby shower? X

I’ve done one class of pregnancy yoga last Monday, can’t go tomorrow as I’m out but think I’ll keep doing it for a bit and see how it goes. Yoga is definitely not my thing but I’m willing to try anything that might help!

Not sure on baby shower, don’t have that many friends and have got lots already so if someone suggests it and can be bothered organising then I guess I will but otherwise no! I didn’t really have a hen do for my wedding 2 years ago so I’m not fussed on these sorts of things...awaren I’m probably weird and a minority though!!

Anyone feeling movements now? I’m feeling them every day and trying to distinguish what movement is what although probs a bit tooo early still for that :)

Ahh yeah I’m not a massive yoga lover so that’s why I tried aquanatal! I absolutely loved it! It’s a mix between exercising and relaxation, struggling to stay awake now haha! Would totally recommend it!

Ahh well I’m similar to you I’ve not got a big group of friends so I was just gonna have a nice meal, an excuse to get my family and friends together but not make it a massively organised fun thing!

I’ve been feeling rumbles on and off but I can’t tell if I’m gassy or if it’s movement! My mum keeps saying it’s movement but I don’t wanna get my hopes up haha!

At least you've got plenty of time to make a decision Princess. It's lovely that you've got your little girl too. I am ever so slightly edging toward hoping for a boy, whilst convinced that I'm having a girl. As long as baby is healthy, I won't be disappointed either way!

Ooh I'm jealous of you ladies going to actual pregnancy classes. I can't find anything near me. I have started going to a new yoga class that started early January though, and there are a couple of other pregnant women at that so that's nice. I am truly dreadful at yoga, as I'm completely inflexible and don't know my left from right, but I am enjoying it

Similar to both of you ladies, if left to me, I wouldn't be having a baby shower. As it stands, my step-mum is actually organising a meal toward the end of April with all my close girlfriends/family, so that should be a nice excuse to catch up with everyone. I don't want any games or fuss, I'm not keen on that kind of thing!

I'm not sure if I've felt any movements :/ sometimes I think I have, other times I think it's just tummy grumbles. People keep telling me I 'should be feeling movements by now', which is obviously really unhelpful and making me a bit paranoid when coupled with how small I am!

Ooo I wouldn't worry about movements, I kept feeling grumbles and rumbles and was thinking I was just hungry but i've literally just felt a full on kick round my groin area which is nice! Everywhere i've read it says you can sometimes not feel anything for a long time! Especially if your placenta is at the front, my friends was and she could only feel tiny little bits to the side. Did you sonographer or midwife mention at all where your placenta was?

Ahh no have you had a look on the NHS Choices website? You can put your postcode in and it'll give you antenatal classes and stuff near you!

Aww how lovely and exciting Urban!!! that must make things seem super real?

No mention of placenta during my 12 week scan! I guess I'll find out more in 2 weeks time :) not too long to wait.

Haha thank you for the link - unfortunately this website only works with English postcodes. I'm over the border in sunny Wales. Our website lists the closest one to me as 16 miles away (a bit too far for making mummy friends I think). Thank you very much though.

Summer don’t worry I only felt them when I was 19 weeks and felt like strange popping and weren’t frequent, now they are quite frequent and feel really weird! Some feel like kicks/punches, others still feel like pops and not exactly sure what they are. The next stage of anxiety has hit which is making sure it moves daily, the next stress on the list!

Shame the classes are so far away, are you doing NCT classes? I signed up for them and people I know said it’s essentially paying for friends haha but they still all did it. Feel like the few friends I have aren’t really involving me in anything and seem a bit off since I’ve been pregnant. I’ve tried not to talk about it much but meh, pregnant friends will at least understand what I’m going through!

Thank you - you've both really reassured me. Oh no, I didn't think of it that way Princess! It's never ending this isn't it? D'you think we'll stop worrying when they go to college??

I've heard really good things about NCT - and people do seem to meet up with the friends they make for years after, which is lovely! Aww that's a real shame about your friends. Are you the first to have children? I think sometimes people don't know what to say/how to react.

Im undecided about NCT currently, because hubby is away until I'm 37 weeks and I'm not keen on going it alone (especially if I don't like the first one, it's a dreadful waste of money to be too scared to go back haha!) I will definitely give the NHS antenatal course a go though. I'm scoping out baby groups at the moment thinking I'll make mummy buddies that way :)

Soooo I gave in and booked an early gender scan...and we’re having a GIRL! So excited now! :D

I know! I just couldn’t wait I’m too impatient haha! Couldn’t get very good pics as it took a lot of dancing around to get her to move, she was too comfy curled up in a ball in my hip haha!

Ah it's a lovely pic and congrats on your little girl. All this talk about scans has just made me realise my next one isn't until I'm basically 22 weeks, gutted but mainly cos I'm jealous of all you lovelies ;)

Already done way tooo much name researching and nursery pintresting haha

Anyone else at the stage of “nothing fits me right”?! Everything either makes me look just fat or it doesn’t fit?! Haha

Yes!!!

And my normal size 14 work pants are too tight (just round belly!) but size 16 are far too big (everywhere!!)

I keep sticking my belly out more so everyone knows I am deffo pregnant and haven't just gone overboard at Christmas ha x

Hey ladies - new to the forum. I am due 15th June. Have my scan next week, and will be finding out the gender.

Then the shopping begins! Cannot wait :)

Hello to you all xxx
