I’m 12 weeks on Boxing Day and they’ve booked my scan for 29th ... I’d much prefer it to be before Christmas because this means going up to parents in law in Birmingham for Christmas, then driving south again on 28th for the scan on 29th and then we are due at my parents in Manchester on the evening of 29th. Is there any reason a scan at 11w and some days is tsp just as good? Would it be worth asking for a change?

I will be 12 weeks on 24th Dec so there is a good chance they will offer a scan before Christmas. I don't want to wait too long, I am way too impatient

Actually it is pretty amazing to think I will be 8 weeks this Sunday!! x

I would ask but chances are if they offer a change it will be later on, after new year x

Wow so much to catch up on! I haven’t got my 12 week scan dates through yet...

Congrats PB really pleased the scan went well, and that makes sense about uterus moving... I thought it took much longer than that to move!

Today I’ve discovered mcvities ginger nuts and I’m in heaven! I’m totally on board with all the McDonald’s loving though!

I treated myself to a Black Friday sale facial and it was sooo nice, just what I needed!

Yeah I'd say you'll definitely get before Christmas hun. Especially if you want the screenings done. I can't remember when is your booking appointment? I got my appointment within a few days of that xx

Sounds like a pain. I think if you ask for a change it would be later hun xx

aw yay shanivy gret you've got your scan before Christmas. are you taking your lo? we're not now but only because she's in nursery on the morning of the scan, if it wasn't booked and paid for I'd have taken her

My MW appointment is this coming Wednesday the 29th. Hopefully the scan date will follow a week or so later x

Hi ladies,
I've been nosing around for a little while and have decided to finally register and meet you all properly. I am 8weeks pregnant today and due 4th July. I had my first midwife appointment yestersay. She is really lovely so very happy there. I am feel really scared though as I've had two miscarriages in the past and I had some brown bleeding one day during week 5. Longing for my dating scan.
So far we've only told the kids. They noticed I was always feeling sick and I didn't want the older ones guessing. I have four boys, 7, 10, 11 and 12. Going to be a huge age gap as things didn't go as planned but they are all very excited. Youngest cried at first as he loves being my baby but soon came around and talks non stop about baby now. They are all so keen to know how baby is growing and have so many questions.
Anyhow I look forward to getting to know everyone and wish you all wonderful pregnancies! Xx

I'm having my 2nd with a 4 year age gap. Haven't told my daughter yet but I've asked her does she want a baby brother or sister and she said no haha. So we'll see how that goes

That's a gap but at least you'll have loads of baby bonding time when the boys are at school. And they're old enough to help you out! They sound like super cute kids. I've had a mc and bleeding with this pregnancy so I know the feeling and the worrying. Roll on 2nd trimester for all of us.

Shanivy- Your daughter sounds adorable. Hehe. I'm sure she'll love a little brother or sister. My oldest Charlie was 4 3/4 when my youngest Rowan was born and he was fantastic with him. Always wanted to give him snuggles and fetch things to help me out. Even tried to change a nappy when Rowan was a bit older but Rowan wouldn't stop rolling away. It was so cute. My second oldest Connor has already asked me if he can do all the nappy changes! Haha. He is so keen to help.

That is great you have your scan through already! Hope the 13th comes around really quick.

We are hoping to announce Christmas day with a card which we'll give to my parents first. We always do a christmas card of my kids in front of the tree wearing Christmas jumpers. This year Rowan will be wearing a prompted to big brother t shirt and just in case it isn't noticed hoping to put a copy of the scan inside.

I'm definitely fancing chips now myself btw. Been surviving mainly on crackers but they really aren't that filling. I keep cooking other things but the smell puts me right off and I can't face eating it.

Katy, a facial sounds so relaxing, glad you enjoyed it.

Lol I don't mind when I have my scan. I'm not telling anyone at all until past 20 weeks xD (if my bump isn't that big, was huge last time) my B-Day is in Feb so hubby is taking me for a gender scan cos I'll be around 18 weeks well when I tell him he's taking me anyway aha.
All your midwife appointments are soon. I'm so much more relaxed now I don't even care about having appotments late.
Fela your allowed to request a change but it'll probably be after your scheduled appointment they get full so fast! X

Just wondering, has anyone ever had like, a sneeze or a cough and had it coincide with a sharp(ish) pelvic twinge? I'm assuming it's more something to do with the muscles down there changing rather than something to worry about?

I was so exhausted today I had to leave work... this is the worst I've felt and I never felt like this last time. I'll have to get my head around it!

Just sorting myself out with a ticker so it can say how far along I am even if the OP has disappeared for now

Although it could be worth asking a moderator if they could edit the top post?

PB you're prob okay with scans cause you've seen your baba and know he or she is doing well. I wish I'd went for the early private now cause I have to wait for the NHS one to make sure everything's fine. Luckily it's only 3 weeks for me or I'd be climbing the walls xx
