**** july mummies 2018 *****

Thanks I'll call this afternoon, at work at the moment so will wait till I'm home

Booking appointment went well. I'm so happy. I'll be seeing the same two midwives throughout and they will be my midwives on call for my birth too. Tried to convince me to have a home water birth since I go so quick lol. Scan should be about 11 weeks since I'd like the screening. Such a positive experience compared to DD :)

7 weeks today

Ooo a home water birth sounds nice! Relaxing. I would like a water birth but won't be allowed as I bleed out and passed out with dd so very jealous lol. Yay for 7 weeks.
Sarah they called me back with dd but had to keep pestering them. So definitely give them a call. :)

had my booking appointment this morning too. it went really well and I've got my scan on 15th December! So excited to have got a date For it straight away

my midwife is awesome, she was last pregnancy to but I had a horrible horrible birthing and after birth experience. I never complained (although a few people said i should sue) but before we even really got into the app today she said she wanted to apologise for the treatment I'd received last time and that I'd played on her mind over the years and she felt the system had let me down. it was so lovely for her to say it, none of the negative experience had been due to her but it was good to hear that I hadn't been crazy to have felt so bad after my experience

onwards and upwards though. starting to get very excited

glad your appointment has gone well shanivy! I'd been to scared to have a home birth but I'd love a water birth this time

Glad your app went well Shanivy! I’m in the waiting room for mine now...

A home water birth sounds amazing. I’m high risk with my first though so I think I’ll be consultant led for sure! Plus I’m moving cities so I don’t think I’ll manage to have the same midwives all the way through but my hospital team will be for my diabetes so that’s something

For my booking app I rang the drs as soon as I found out and they made the app over the phone. I think you’re supposed to be 8-10 weeks but I’m only 6+3 but this is the day they gave me so I’m not complaining!

I had no idea I would be this nervous about the scan. I'm kind of dreading bad news now. Actually sat here about to dry my hair and I'm shaking!

Yes I have just spoke to them, she said they will be touch when I'm around 8 weeks!

Let's hope they do x

Shepherdess I was waiting on your post, remembered your appointment was the same as me lol. That's great having a scan date already! Before Christmas too. Sounds like you had an awful experience. Hopefully this one is better and it doesn't put you off going for what you want this time. water births are amazing. I had a great birth experience, just afterwards was bad. I got so ill I couldn't stand up. I'm not sure if I feel entirely comfortable with a home birth because of last time, but either way I'm wanting a water birth again xx

PB that sounds awfully frightening. Thank goodness you were okay. Do you know if it's likely to happen again though? How's your cramps now ? Xx

KHTW yay thank you :). You aren't too far behind me either lol. Hopefully before Xmas, but you never know How are you? Xx

Is everyone taking or not taking the 12 week screening?

Sarah glad you got sorted. Sometimes you need to pester them lol xx

Completely missed this. Thank you. I'm sure yours will too. Can you not ask for one anyway if that's what you want? Xx

Happy birthday hun. You'd be mad not to be nervous. No point in me telling you to relax cause you won't until you see him or her. But I'm rooting for that sticky baby. Good luck :hugs: Xx

I'm definitely having the 12 week screening

good luck today GG and happy birthday

Yes, I will be asking for the screening again. Hoping for a pre-Christmas scan

Feeling quite crap today, no idea why I've had a nice, long sleep and been munching things all day but juts feeling blah in general! x

How did it go hun?? x

Glad your appointments went well Shanivy and Sheperdhess. Katybaby and GG, good luck for yours.

As I'm in Spain things are a bit different I think. I had my first appointment with the midwife today despite only being 5+3 and I was so relieved to find she's really lovely. I've now got my blood/urine analysis appointment on the 15th of December and the first scan on the 4th of January :) I think it's starting to feel more real now!

Has anyone got any tips on how to get through drinking so much water? I've never really been one for drinking much water throughout the day and I'm now struggling! I've tried having some milk and milkshakes too to break up the monotony of water but I find I'm feeling so full of liquid.

Oh I didn't realise you were in Spain lol. Felt more real for me too today I know what you mean. Putting ice in water helps me for some reason, or lemon too. Xx

Thanks, I'll give them a try.

Yeah, I live in Spain but I'm from Scotland originally. I found this forum when I was looking for somewhere to vent during TTC and any possible pregnancy, haha!

I have got used to drinking water now but I know not everyone likes the taste, I tend to add some sugar free cordial to it just to make it have a nice taste, maybe give that a try, as water on it's own can be quite boring.
