January 2017 mummies! **2nd Trimester.**

Hi ladies! Sorry I've not been on here much, work has been so busy, been looking for our cat every evening & it was my Birthday at the weekend!

Lots of updates! Sorry if I don't comment on them all! Laura that's so cute, love the bows! Saw some adorable identical girl twins at the weekend. :)

Yes our 20 week scan is next Wednesday and we will hopefully find out the genders, very excited! Hoping to get a 4D scan in a few weeks too, really want to see their faces and to be able to see them moving about whenever I want, it will seem more real!

Think I've been having flutters but it just feels like tickling which I've also had elsewhere, I keep lifting up my top to see if its just the fabric of my top tickling me but then it stops! ;)

Aww FTTB hope all settles soon, cheeky twinnies!

Had my consultant appointment about this low hormone count - not worth the anxiety!! Literally said, you're booked in for more scans and here is some aspirin.

Perks of having a MIL sonographer however as I managed to get a cheeky peek at baby with my mummy there which was amazing!! Xxxxxx

Squiggle wasn't being the most cooperative but it was nice seeing their tiny features so clearly on screen xxxx

Aww BlondeP, cute little photo! Glad it's not as worrying as you thought. This pregnancy worry is a nightmare, and you've definitely had your share of worries so far.

Does anyone else find the 4D scans a bit creepy deepy? They did a bit of 4D last week and I wasn't so keen!

Aw lovely photo Blonde and so glad everything was ok at consultant appointment that's a great relief. X

Laura we are the same lol hubby & I won't have a 4D scan as we find them a bit weird & creep us out too ha ha x

Yes Laura, I find them way too creepy so we won't be having one at all! xxxx

Haha, yep agree on the creepy scans!! That's fantastic news Blonde :) xx

Hi January ladies! Just nipping back in to see how you're all doing. Despite being moved forward to December I still have almost 2 weeks to wait for my 20w scan, argh! Getting impatient now! X

Hi girls! I had my 16 week scan today (although I'm 17 weeks tomorrow). Twins are measuring bang on for singles, so all looking good so far. The only funny thing was, I asked if the sonographer could confirm girls, as OH and I thought we saw a willy on the scan last time when the woman said girls. The sonographer confirmed girls, and then was like "hang on a minute.. I think I just saw boy parts.." then zoomed in and said "oh no, it looks like a girl again now".

They were wriggling around like mad, so it was difficult for the poor guy to get a good view of anything, so he ended up taking us to a room with a better machine and calling in a colleague to see if she thought boys or girls. They decided on girls with "pronounced vulvas" in the end hahaha. So I'm holding back on buying anything pink until 20 weeks just in case!

Also I'm so happy to report that (touch wood) I haven't been sick since Monday night! This is a massive record, so I'm very very happy.

Ohh that's interesting Laura! Hopefully things will be more obvious at 20 weeks. great news about their size too! Even better about the lack of sickness xxxx

Hi all, I just wondered if anyone could explain to me what round ligament pain feels like? I'm suffering with back pain almost every day - sometimes a general ache low in the back, sometimes much higher up and like a persistent niggle in one tiny area - and I can't work out if this is normal for 15 1/2 weeks. Does anyone else have a sore back?

Usually a sharper and pulling feeling, and it's on one or both sides of the very lower abdomen, near the groin muscles. Don't think it goes to the back. However, at 15w I started having back pain just like that, and my nurse said baby is probably laying on a nerve! So maybe that's it.

That's funny Laura! I find the 4d scans weird but still want to get one as the twins are from donor eggs so I want to see what their faces look like so its not a shock when they are born! DH also hopes they don't look like his mum, haha!

From what I understand it can basically feel like anything. It's most likely to affect the ligaments in your pelvic area, but the hormone causing it can also cause pain in lower back or sometimes the entire back and even knees.
You can also get pain in your lower back due to your body mass shifting around and pushing at the spine. So basically anything can be expected.
Talk to your midwife as they can refer you to a physiotherapist who can help with exercises and maybe a support belt.

Anyone got anything nice planned this weekend? My sister is coming over from London and this morning we went to the Portuguese Bakery for opening time and got all the good stuff warm from the oven. Good start to the day and now for my post-breakfast nap :)

That sounds nice Laura & the Portuguese bakery yum!
Where abouts are you?
We've got a nice chilled weekend, extension well unde way so house is in chaos and so dusty lol then in laws wedding anniversary so a nice family lunch

Random question, anyone else's "bits" feeling extra sensitive & a a bit as if it's swollen down there? X

Laura, that sounds lovely. I'm currently at Ikea for reasons unrelated to babies, although we did have a look at the cot beds. Might be going to watch Finding Dory tonight.

FTTBN, I've been a bit extra sensitive and itchy. Used baby oil for a few days and it passed.
