January 2017 mummies! **2nd Trimester.**

Thank you lovely.. haha see, even that nearly set me off! You're so right about the pregnancy glow pressure..

We're going for Afternoon Tea at the Crazy Bear in Oxfordshire, not sure what neck of the woods you're from but it's a really cool place and I am very excited for all the cake! Also have a scan on Thursday to check up on baby's femur measurements so i'm very much looking forward to seeing her again :)

Hoorah - almost there - I know it's horrible tagging along at the back isn't it! We can make the jump to Tri 3 together in a few weeks and keep each other company here in the meantime! Hope the vaccines go well, my arm feels fine at the moment so fingers crossed you'll escape it too! xx

Hi ladies! I'm having a bit of a freak out because I had a consultant appt today at the hospital and he said they'll start thinking about delivery in 8 and a half weeks time when I'm 34 weeks! I felt like I still had ages to go, but he's just stolen quite a few weeks that I thought I had to play with. I'll be 34 weeks on 9 December, so I hope you don't mind me staying in our Jan group. xxx

I think most of the twin mums will be induced in December but staying in the January group!

Such a small world, Kate. I'm in London but my husband's family are from very near the Crazy Bear so I know the area well! Never been inside, but it looks so lovely - enjoy! And I'm so glad to have you to keep me company here, thank you :-)

Eeeek Laura! That's exciting! Please do stay with us! xx

Lol Kate yup my emotional moments have earnt me the nickname tiny tears lol my hubby says it in the nicest way love him and I'm not usually a crier lol how was your afternoon tea? Sounds lovely x

Laura that's super exciting! How comes 34? Like Blueflower I'll be December too but staying with you January girls. X

That's good 9 months, over here it seems to differ with depending on who you work for as places will make up the money wth the government money but I think if it's just standard mat pay it's 6 or 9 months paid ?

Sounds like a growth spurt how exciting!

27 weeks today for me & 3rd trimester ek!

Yup, here too it depends on where you work. Where I work offers good benefits so thank God for that. Mine will be paid, so that's good. :)

Congrats on your graduation to tri 3 Sarah! Final stretch now eeeeeeeeek!

V-day for me yesterday and my Birthday tomorrow so i'm hoping this week will be a much happier one.. Had my whooping cough jab this morning - I was a very brave girl

Has anyone else been really emotional? I know you mentioned you had been Sarah.. I am not a cryer generally, a bit of a tough cookie actually so I've been surprising myself with emotional breakdowns and generally just feeling a little sad.. Trying to perk myself up and then feel worse for pandering to myself and giving in to the self pity! Hoping it's all just pregnancy hormones, maybe I should cut myself some slack and allow myself to be a bit pathetic for a few months

Happy V day and happy birthday Kate! Woohoo! Yes it's just pregnancy hormones, don't worry about it Kate!

Oh wow another Dec one I didn't realize that. :) You ladies will all have yours before me. That's cool that you ladies will stay in this group with us.

I am going to have a moan about my chest! Ribs are so sore especially after eating and my bust now looks like a roll of pastry in non wired bras! I take my hat off to those of you looking after older children whilst being pregnant!

Had 2 scans today one nhs and one private! Didn't want them on the same day but had to fit them around the holiday! Twins are both breach at the moment so it must be their heads pushing on my ribs! Private scan was ok but she still only got pics of one baby. :( The other one's face will be a surprise when he is born!

Here is my latest bump pic taken in France!

Thanks! Its not even a maternity top but a dress I bought a couple of years ago to go over trousers! Nice and roomy!

Looking lovely blueflower!

I thought I might deliver end of December as my due date is towards end of Jan, but I didn't realise that they consider delivery quite as early as 34 weeks with MCDA twins. It's because the risk of problems is sadly still quite high in tri3 even compared with fraternal twins, so sometimes they deem them safer out than in. Looks like I might have to buy them Christmas presents this year (not that they'll know either way haha) xx

By the way everyone, I don't mean this to scare anyone, but strep B bacteria is carried by like 20% of people naturally and can occasionally pass to baby during pregnancy or birth and can be quite serious. For some reason, routine checks to see if you're a carrier aren't offered automatically but you can request one. Just ask midwife or consultant for a strep B test and they'll give you a swab and then they send it off for you. I did it today just to be on the safe side as I think it's worth knowing if I'm a carrier or not. Just thought I'd share in case anyone else interested - it's recommended to check by RCOG.

Gosh Laura that's earlier than I thought you'd be! But the others are right I think all twin mums in Jan thread will have babies here before then :) even my family are convinced Squig will be here by xmas!! xxxx

We haven't made any plans for Christmas and new year as I will either be like a beached whale or nocturnal! Mum wants us to go there for Christmas but we will just have to see how it goes. My sister will be back in the country the day before my earliest induction date until the day before my official due date so she has a good chance of meeting her new nephews! ;)

We've said that they will be here before Xmas as 38 weeks for me is Boxing Day & my consultant had said that I won't be going past 38 weeks, I'm hoping they induce me a little before Christmas if they aren't here already just because I know what hospital staffing is like over the Christmas period & I want my consultant at the birth & not munching her Christmas dinner lol
Christmas Day is at my brother in laws who lives a couple of minute walk down the road so if they babies are here we will just walk there for a bit then also nice and close to home too x

That's fab that your sister will be back for the babies :-)

seems like things are really happening now with the possible early arrival of so many babies. I went two weeks overdue last time so I'm expecting it again. I'll be one of the last I'm sure.

IN relation to strep B. I've ordered a test online. They send it to you in envelope and you take sabs yourself and then you send it back and back £35. The recommend that the test is carried out at around 35 weeks I think so I'm holding off doing it.

I have another scan tomorrow to check on size of baby.

Lovely bump Blue. :)

I've planned a Christmas meal for mums side of the family and OH intermediate family at our local fave pub in the 17th. As my mum loves 1hour away I just don't want to do the journey Xmas day and especially don't want to be so far from home at 36 weeks. I think Xmas day we will go visit my dads side and then have lunch at OH aunts with the family as they all live in a 3 mile radius to us and the hospital if we need them :)

Moan time - I'm suffering from a horrid cold! And literally can only have bloody honey and lemon -.- when is best to have flu jab and whooping cough? I'll request a strep b test now, thanks for the info Laura
How is baby looking so far princess?

xxxx

Thanks for the info Laura! I'll be sure to request the test.

I don't know yet what we'll do for Christmas. I haven't thought about it yet I've been so busy thinking of T.J. :) LOL Princess me and you will be the last ones. :) My due date is not till Jan 24th! LOL :)

My boss (who is not known to be tactful!) has just bumped in to me in the corridor and said ' waw I can't believe how big you are so soon' . I know it's silly but she really upset me. I know I'm big and I've tried to dismiss people's comments but I am getting so embarrassed by them now. I just don't' know what to say when people comment. Even my midwife said to me at my last appointment, 'oh you are looking quite mumsy!'

I feel especially embarrassed telling people that they think my baby may be on the smaller side. I literally feel like crying! :(
