January 2017 mummies! **2nd Trimester.**

Oh Sprout you poor thing :( Being sick is one of my biggest loathes! Hope you feel better really soon..

So glad you're having a nice time Blueflower! Ahh we'll have to see you over in tri 3 in a few weeks!

Hehehe Papermoon that made me chuckle :) I never realised fortnights weren't a think in the States..learn something new every day!

Holding Thumbs that sounds like an incredible job, but not surprised you're shattered.. hope you get through it in one piece and can put your feet up soon.

Thanks Sarah.. I didn't worry about weight gain in my first pregnancy and ended up quite overweight afterwards which i've found difficult to shift so I just don't want to go back there.. I put on weight very easily which is unnerving as I used to suffer with a serious eating disorder and it's always there at the back of my mind..Hey ho, not much that can be done now!! I'm not exactly off sex but we haven't been doing it as often, I think OH is a bit freaked out by it with my belly haha!

Wow so much going on here. In the midst of my busiest week of the year and I've been on my feet all day from 7:30 am to 11 ish pm every day. This is the first time I've sat on the sofa since Sunday. A total wreck.

Thanks for the advice on the back. Trying to strengthen with my yoga exercises but might mention to midwife at my 25 week appointment in a couple of weeks of it's still terrible.

Have you tried some swimming? Sorry if I already mentioned it. I've found that it has helped soooo much, I needed crutches a few weeks ago and now I can practically skip up the stairs. xx

Oh really Laura? I hadn't thought of that, but definitely seems worth a try!

So much to catch up on in like a day haha! Kate I have put on a stone already!! :( and after loosing two stone before getting pregnant it's left me feeling a little deflated.

I miss intimacy. Oh is intimate and cute with bump but not with me really... And I think the idea of having sex freaks him out with bump right there but when we have done it he speaks to the baby straight after to make sure he's ok and not hurt ... Which then weirds me out !! -.-

Booked us a little baby moon today. Two nights staying at my sisters in London for a nice shopping spree / site seeing time. He has no idea yet as its a surprise from me! Hope you are all ok. V day for us today so my anxiety has literally halved !! Xxxxx

Oh no Sprout! Hope you feel better you poor thing! Congrats on your graduation to third trimester Sprout. Okay see you there in a few weeks. :)

LOL Kate no we don't say fortnight here and we don't say stone either. Hahaha! :D

We haven't been having much sex either, I think OH is scared of hurting the baby, this is his first child too so he's being super cautious. :)

That sounds like fun Abi! I would like to visit London one day. Happy V day woohoo! Yes it is a nice relief! :)

Papermoon, stones confuse me too. I know a pound is roughly half a kilo, but I'm totally lost when it comes to stones.
I've gained 6 kg, which should be a little less than 12 pounds I think.

I definitely miss sexy times. I'm too sore to do it even when not sick/having a headache/exhausted. But we've tried to find other ways to be intimate and close. Just touching each other and reaffirming we're both attracted to each other still does a lot.

I'm glad it's not just me! Rhiandell hubby is a bit freaked out even for that bless him, um happy with other stuff but he's not sure ha ha

Abi that sounds lovely, where are you going to go? Me & hubby love going up to London for the day. Papermoon you should definitely come one day :-)

I made the rookie mistake of waiting for hubby to have dinner last night so ate at 9pm, went to bed at 11pm & had the most awful heartburn/ indigestion had to sleep sitting up!!!

Staying with big sis in Kingston upon Thames then for one of the days I want to go to central London for a shopping trip or the Westfield centre by the Olympic park :) we'v never been to London together and the last time he went was years ago so I hope he likes his surprise! xxxx

Oh that will be lovely, Westfield is massive & lots of shopping there & yummy restaurants, there's also bowling & casino lol. X

We also like getting the Thames clipper with our Oyster cards ;-) we go to the O2 & eat & drink there x

I think you might mean me, Blue. I work at a museum and there's a huge art fair this week which involves crazy amounts of running around. I've realised as the week has progressed that it doesn't go too well with pregnancy.

I feel sad that people will be leaving us too, Abi! I'm too superstitious to move across until I'm 27 weeks, but have almost a month to go!

That does sound a nightmare but I did mean Papermoon having to get up at 2.30am and starting work at 4.30!

I might start a thread in Tri 3 for us but still come on here until most of us have graduated! Otherwise there will only be a few of us on it!

Yes, that's how me and hubby do, we cuddle and spoon and things like that. :)
Okay kgs sound easy you can just almost double the number to get pounds. Stones would be easier to multiply in my head if a stone was 10 pounds, 14 pounds is a little trickier to multiply in my head. :) I have to convert it in my head because I only understand pounds. LOL.

Being on both threads sounds good Blue! :) Oh I missed what you wrote about me getting up at 2:30am I'm gonna go back to read it. :) Yup, it's tough, it's almost like working night shift. LOL!

Oh okay I found it Blue. :) I work in an office for NBC Network and cable company, I transfer people's accounts when they move. :) Yup, I work Tuesday -Sat with Sun & Mon off, 4:30 am to 1:00pm. Wew! :)

Wow those are tough shift times Papermoon ! I find kgs always hard to work out lol it's 2.2lbs to a kg but I still work in pounds and stones, there's always the debate over here with what we do use & what we should use. I'm wondering how it'll change when we come out of Europe

Papermoon how much maternity leave will you get? I've heard in the USA you have to go back quite early after having baby?

I plan to stay out till the baby is 9 months old. What's the amount of maternity leave time you get there? :)

I think T.J. is having a growth spurt today. I woke up this morning feeling nauseous for the first time since first trimester and a little more tired than usual. My baby bump has gotten visibly bigger today too. Third trimester is knocking at the door. :)

That's good 9 months, over here it seems to differ with depending on who you work for as places will make up the money wth the government money but I think if it's just standard mat pay it's 6 or 9 months paid ?

Sounds like a growth spurt how exciting!

27 weeks today for me & 3rd trimester ek!

Congrats on your graduation to tri 3 Sarah! Final stretch now eeeeeeeeek!

V-day for me yesterday and my Birthday tomorrow so i'm hoping this week will be a much happier one.. Had my whooping cough jab this morning - I was a very brave girl

Has anyone else been really emotional? I know you mentioned you had been Sarah.. I am not a cryer generally, a bit of a tough cookie actually so I've been surprising myself with emotional breakdowns and generally just feeling a little sad.. Trying to perk myself up and then feel worse for pandering to myself and giving in to the self pity! Hoping it's all just pregnancy hormones, maybe I should cut myself some slack and allow myself to be a bit pathetic for a few months

It's definitely the hormones Kate, I'd give yourself some slack! You're doing an incredibly hard and exhausting job, and I think it's actually not helpful at all that everywhere seems to promote this glowing idea of pregnancy loveliness. It's amazing, no doubt, but pretty tough at times. And it sounds to me like you're doing brilliantly.

Congratulations on V Day and happy birthday week! Do you have anything exciting planned?

A day and a half for me until that magical 24 week mark - feels frustrating at times to be bringing up the rear in this group, but so nearly there. And I've got two vaccines this afternoon - hope I'll be able to move my arms!
