January 2017 mummies! **2nd Trimester.**

I think boy too Abi, but OH and all my family are going for girl - what a surprise it'll be in 20 weeks time! I'm going girl for you too Kate, although I'm sure Poppy will be super excited either way :-)

So sorry you've been feeling so rough Rhiandell - you've really had more than your fair share. Hope they figure out a plan soon.

And yippee Blueflower! So thrilled for you!

My DH asks how they are every day too, don't really know what to say apart from ok so I just say if they tickled or make something up! Mind you when I ask how his day was he only says 'so so'!

I want skips too now! Will have to get some tomorrow! :good:

It's going to have to be a skip Friday! & we'll have to send some over to Arizona Papermoon ;-)

Ah that's too cute blue flower!!! Sounds like you has a lovely sleep too :)
Good luck for the morning holding thumbs. Everything will be fine in sure, anxiety is very natural for us humans when we care about something beyond our control :)

My friend got me really worried today as I told her I hadn't felt baby for a couple of days and she made me go to MLU. I felt so silly when they found his heartbeat and his was kicking like mad - I just couldn't feel it. She made me out to be irresponsible for not worrying too much, but as in so early on I didn't think I needed to as I can feel he is really low and deep at the minute :( il admit, I thought having close friends who had recently experienced all this would be nice, but they are making me feel pretty useless.

Oh and I'm now seriously cravin skips.... Thanks girls :') lolxxxxxxx

Some people can be quite frustrating and make you worry! It's still too early hon & I think it's not for a few weeks for you yet to start monitoring, have a look on counting kicks!
Glad everything was ok though and he was having a good wriggle X

Thanks Holdingthumbs :-) Feeling better today, hoping it will last. Going in to work, have to deliver the cupcakes. It's my birthday tomorrow so I made brownie cupcakes with Nutella frosting and mini Oreos on top.

Abi, sorry but that's not a great friend. Does she have kids of her own? I don't think you're meant to start monitoring movements until the third trimester? And only after they've started to become regular. Happy the baby is healthy and active though. :-)

Oh, and I have a confession to make. I think the idea of Skips is horrid. Never tried and never will. :-D

We'll keep our skips, you can keep your pickled herrings  although we'll take meatballs :)

Ha ha that's a good deal I think, mmmm meatballs! I have a feeling we are all foodies ! Ha ha
I was watching this weeks GBBO & now really fancy some churros from Wahacca mmmmmm lol

Anyone else relived that it's rained & is cooler lol!

Thanks girls... I was pretty sure count the kicks couldn't be wrong but she got me so worked up and upset I had to go in. Felt very silly.

Cooler?? It was 25 degrees here yesterday, still melting my bum off haha.

Off to buy one of those massive sharing bags of 'fake skips' at M&S now lol xxxxx

I was told but so many people in the first trimester that I should be feeling ill & everything twice as bad as I had twins that I worried myself silly that something was wrong! People just don't realise what they say do they!!

Yup yesterday was soooooooo hot but today it's raining and lovely in Essex ha ha

Mmmmm the M&S version are delicious!

Same here in Cambridge, it was awful yesterday but nice and breezy and raining today! Woohoooo!

Just a note to let you all know that my scan this morning went really well. Baby looks perfect and is growing just as (s)he should, with all the measurements spot on and no concerns about anything. Which is a huge relief after lots of worrying. And the little one was so good with posing for the camera that we were in and out at record speed, leaving the sonographer time for an impromptu coffee break! She was thrilled. 20 weeks to go until we find out who they'll be :-)

Such a wonderful morning has nosedived into a day of tears though as I've just found out that a family friend passed away last night - my Mum didn't tell me as she didn't want to worry me before my scan - and I've got into work to see two emails that undermine my whole position and everything I've been working so hard on over the last few months. Life really is swings and roundabouts, isn't it?

Try to focus on the positive Holdingthumbs. *hugs* So sorry for your loss though.
Beautiful picture of baby and so well behaved already. :-)

If I never saw a pickled herring again in my life I would be happy. Awful concept, though not as bad as the fermented one. You have to open the tin outside in a bucket of water to neutralise the odour. Worst thing I've smelled in my life, definitely couldn't bring myself to eat it.

Aww HoldingThumbs sorry for your loss. Like Lisa said, focus on the positive if your lovely healthy baby! I know it can be hard but they need you to think positive thoughts if you can :/ scan pic is gorgeous! Xxxxx

I'm so sorry holding thumbs, life can be cruel and euphoric all at once.. So glad to hear that everything is perfect with baby.

My scan was fine, though the thigh bones are measuring behind so I need to go back in 4 weeks to check they're at least growing in line with the rest of the parts. She also confirmed that there were 'no obvious boy parts' so looks like we have another girl on the way :)

They also said I had an anterior placenta which explains less movements than I had expected..

All in all not a bad day, though partner and Poppy a little disappointed with the gender and it's hard not to feed off their negativity..

Ah I'm sorry for your loss holdingthumbs big hugs. So glad everything went well with your scan and lovely pic X

Ah Kate how lovely another girl, how exciting :-) it's just me and my sister in our family & dad loved it & we are so close it's lovely X

In other news...yum yum

Thank you everyone. Just a shock and feeling a bit all over the place today with emotions.

Very pleased your scan went well too Kate, and don't take any notice of any negativity. Your partner should probably have been a bit more discreet with his reaction, but both of them will be overjoyed when she arrives. I can honestly say that my little sister is one of my closest friends and I really don't know what I'd do without her - it's such an incredible gift and will be for Poppy too. She's a lucky, lucky girl Xx

Good to eat baby is ok Kate! Hope when you go back growth with her thighs will be in line :) I'm one of 4 girls, poppy will love having a little sister ! :D xxxx
