January 2017 mummies! **2nd Trimester.**

Bless her, I really feel for her :( My partner hasn't been the best over the years (never cheated but hasn't been particularly nice to me) and my Mum and friends have told me i'd be better off alone but I empathise with not wanting a broken home for our child. That said I don't think i'd ever tolerate cheating, I just find it so disgusting..

Love a bargain Blueflower!!! I got some materntiy jeans from H&M for a tenner and I am in love with them - comfiest things ever! Hope they fit me the whole way through.. Annoying about the prams though.. Out of curiosity why are you set on a side by side design?

I've gained 5lb so far, how's everyone else doing? All I seem to see is people saying they've lost weight through sickness/loss of appetite.. I'm so conscious this time of not gaining too much weight, I know there are much bigger things to worry about but I was so miserable after having Pops..

Oh good bargain Blueflower ! One of our local mothercare had the mountain buggy & the city jogger both of which are side by side which helped make our decision. It's hard to make one if you can feel/touch and test them.

I've gained 10lb ish I think which I'm very happy with lol X

Good to hear about your movements ladies, I think I'm definitely expecting too much, too early!

BlondeP, that's awful about your friend...what an idiot that guy is, so much to be throwing away...

I'm feeling absolutely huge today...anyone want to share their bumps?!

I've put on 4lbs so far. I'm really nervous of putting on too much weight as I've got to be bridesmaid next October for my friend and have been warned I better fit my dress! I was loosing weight before baby and was finally feeling good again lol dam it Squig!

I would show my bump but I'm currently sat in my undies having a hot flush 😂

xxxxx

Oh Sprout i'm looking so similar to you and i'm only 17 weeks today! I'm still so bloated though, I wake up feeling fine and go to bed feeling massive!

In all my bloated back-fat glory:lol:

This is a week ago, but I can't say bump has grown noticeably.

Aaaand apparently the picture isn't working anyway. Meh...

No bump to share yet - think I'm shrinking, if anything! But SIL said she had a similar point where bloating went away, and after a short while, bump proper came along. So fingers crossed it'll arrive soon!
You'll definitely be the first to know when I have something to shout about, haha!

I don't want one of the twins to have no view! And I think the side by side prams seem easier to manoeuvre.
I seem to have bloated out this weekend, lots of meals out! Will take a pic! I don’t want to put any extra weight on as it will be harder to lose at my age, never been on a diet and would hate it! Don't know how much weight I've put on as we don't have scales and the midwife hasn't weighed me again! Got on the scales at the vets around week 12 and had put on a couple of pounds then got on some in the home section of Asda around week 17 & had maybe put on another 3 or 4.

I'm the same Blueflower which is why we are going to go for the mountain buggy as its side by side & can have carry cots parent facing & good for dog walking. I don't like the thought of one of the twinnies being underneath and facing the bottom of another chair ! X

And in those one on top of the other prams, one baby is practically on the floor! Imagine what it would inhale down there :( xxxx

Yeah that's very true, they do look a little caged in down there - you just see a little pair of feet sticking out! Gosh I seem to have lived most of my life on some form of diet.. One of my biggest demons.. We also don't own scales but i'm hopping on them whenever I see them in someone's bathroom. I'm off out to buy the rest of my big girl's school uniform today :( can't believe i'm here already! xx

Lovely lovely bumps! I'll share mine later. I have no idea how much weight I've gained, but I was a size 12 and now bump is starting to bust out of the size 14 bits that were big on me 6 weeks ago. I feel like most added bulk is bump area though so far, although I've definitely gained a little all over! I think appetite is finally slowing down a bit (she says, scoffing down a second bacon pitta..) - I was absolutely ravenous in tri1 all day and night, despite sickness.

Anyone looked at breast pumps yet? I was researching them yesterday and I'm quite keen on the medela freestyle double pump, although it's so expensive, I'd probably get it second hand and sterilise it a lot!

I'm borrowing my best friends electric one so haven't done any research - this might sound daft but I presume the suction just holds it on the boob right? Not sure how much time il have in the day to hold it in while it does the job! Xxxxx

I need some advice girls. I've had severe headaches for quite a while now. Originally I thought it was sinusitis, as it followed on my cold and I was pretty stuffed for a while. But that seems to have cleared up now, no mucus and only stuffy nose at bedtime which is quite normal for me.
I have no other symptoms of pre-eclampsia, so don't think it's that, even if everyone seems convinced I will get it because I'm fat (despite having no family history of high blood pressure whatsoever).
Seeing as I really don't like my midwife, I would rather not call her. So should I call the antenatal clinic, which I can probably easily get away with as expecting twins, or should I get a GP appointment to be checked for sinusitis?
And are there some risk factors I've missed that could lead to headaches?

Lisa just to be safe, ring your MLU if you can and they should send you to triage. At least they can just give you the once over so even if it's nothing serious you will have peace of mind. xxxxx

I think that you still have to hold it and maybe spend 20 mins every 2-3 hours, but that beats a non electric one where you are pumping for 45 mins.. with the medela, you can get a bra that the bottles attach to to make it hands free, but it looks fiddly.

I think this is a normal symptom of hormones unfortunately. I don't ever get headaches normally, but since pregnant, I get some horrendous tension ones which last for days. I've been taking small amounts of aspirin, which I'm meant to take anyway to prevent blood clots (like 1/4 of a 300mg pill, but I'll take 1/2 if needed). I find that sleep and aspirin help a lot. If you're still being sick regularly, it could be that you're a bit dehydrated and that won't be helping. Do you keep water down most of the time?

I imagine that if you call, they'll tell you to try some painkillers and then contact them again if it persists. When's your next appointment?
