January 2017 mummies! **2nd Trimester.**

Girls silly question, can straining from being constipated cause harm to bubbas? X

I really wouldn't imagine so but I know what you mean.. When you have to strain it does feel like something could pop out! I would worry more about haemorrhoids though to be honest.. Maybe call midwife and see if there's anything you could take to soften your movements?! Also, I know this sounds weird, but take your time and try not to push.. Let gravity do its thing and only push when you get the 'urge'! Constipation is the worst - I empathise!

Thanks Kate I know I sound crazy lol but omg I was suffering today & sorry tmi it was uncomfortable not to push ! I've got some prunes at the ready and had a baked apple tonight with loads of veg hoping they may help move things along! But yeah just take a book & let it happen ;-) so glamorous ha ha. X

Haha I finally went three times today after like 3 days of barely anything. Happy days!! I know what you mean about straining though, I don't even like it when I do a big sneeze as I worry about the strain on babies.

Ha ha Laura it's such a good feeling isn't it ha ha & I know what you mean about sneezing too hard I hate it and try my best to do silly little ones holding on to my belly lol X

Twin mummies, we're like halfway through! I was told I'd go no later than 37 weeks.

It's horrid - I seem to either be constipated or have diarrhoea:( The joys! Haha - prunes'll do it! Yes Laura, I get really bad hayfever and for my first 7 weeks was sneezing like mental.. The number of times I googled sneeze-induced miscarriage..I think pregnancy drives even the most rational a bit loopy!

Yay Laura your right ! How mad is that :-)

Omg Kate I've had to ban myself from Google ! Especially when I was in the 1st trimester it's awful! X

I can't believe it Kate, my 20 week scan is on the 16 September too!! I'll be 20+2! You're right that I needed a positive appointment today, and am feeling like I'm bonding a bit better with little one :-)

Missed lots of conversations today driving down to Cornwall for our summer holiday, but hope the bleeding / grumpiness / toilet troubles improve for everyone soon!

Ahhh this is amazing! It's like the NHS are sending telepathic signals! That's great that you've got something to hold on to for the next couple of weeks.. I always feel on a high after an appointment, after you've gained some positive reinforcement.. Ooh exciting - a holiday? Haha what a summary - we really are all living life to the full at the moment

Wow you girls certainly was chatty yesterday. :-)

Wow Laura, that's crazy, I hadn't thought about it, but you're right. Makes me feel a little better about my ligaments, felt crappy that the pain would start so early, but it's not that early anymore, is it?

And my deepest sympathies to everyone with constipation. Every day going to the loo is a nightmare. I try to drink loads and have granola every day, but doesn't seem to help. Maybe I need to stock up on on dried fruit too.

How did the scan go today Abi ?

Lol love the conversations on here, seems the baked apple last night helped ha ha & I made a prune juice purchase today ! I drink at least 4l a day but I'm going to stop my bran flakes for a few days to see if that helps ha ha

Had our 20 week scan today, all body parts present & correct! Its 2 little boys!! :blue: :blue:

Oh wonderful!! Congratulations Blueflower, 2 boys will be lovely! Got any names pinned down yet? Hope you had a lovely time, can't wait to see my babe again! xx

Yay for team blue :-)

So for the twinnies we now have team blue, team pink and team yellow so far, who else ? X

Yay how beautiful blue flower!

Scan went fine, they have said yet again the bleeding is just me nothing near baby but I did get told off for not rushing in the moment I saw blood ... I just didn't want to bother them as I was seeing the midwife any way :/ but all ok! Got a massive veg and fruit delivery from our local grocery guys today, smells amazing and has really perked me up.

I've combatted my constipation with lots and LOTS of veg. I also have a big glass of orange juice every morning too to help things ... Move ... Haha. Take it easy and don't strain girls!

On another note, we have cancelled our private sexing scan as the sonographers they will be able to tell us for 100% certainty when we go for our 19 weeks scan. As its only two weeks away we decide we may as well wait even though it will be tough haha! So jealous of everyone who already knows xxxxxx

It lasted over an hour as she measured everything and I had to go and walk around twice to try to get twin 1 to flip over so she could measure the skin on his back!!
It was lovely to see them again and see that they have grown and were moving and had all their parts! They are lying stacked with Twin 1 low in my tummy and Twin 1 higher up!
At one point Twin 1 was kicking the membrane between them where his brother's head was!
I have a few names but DH will want to give it some serious thought!!
The placenta of Twin 1 isn't near my cervix so shouldn't need a caesarian for that reason.

That's good news! x

Oh and apparently I have an artirior (spelling?!?) placenta. Which I found off as I already feel movement!

Great news both! Super exciting!

That's also really reassuring, Abi! i was worried I'd have to wait another couple of months for any kind of movement with my anterior placenta, but you've given me hope!!
