January 2017 mummies! **2nd Trimester.**

I was worried being a little bigger that I wouldn't have a bump but it's popped and I love it :-) I think I felt a proper movement today !

Think mine may take a little while to become regular as one of my twinnies has an anterior placenta. X

Hi everyone, thanks for the welcome. No I don't know what I'm having yet, I will soon. :)

Apparently Braxton-Hicks can start already in the first trimester, so that can very well be what you're feeling Kate. It can also be growth pain from the uterus stretching, or round ligament pain from the join in the front of the pelvis, something I've discovered the joys of today.

Thanks Lisa, yeah on further research it seems especially with subsequent pregnancies braxton hicks can happen this early.. deffo also think some of the pain is round ligaments, ouch!! It really hurts!

Oh so exciting Sarah!! I just checked my 12 week scan notes after Holding thumbs mentioned it and no anterior placenta noted on there so I think my baby is either burrowed right in or just lazy! I'd take a lazy baby - my 4 year old is an absolute nut  Reeeeally hope the midwife tries to listen in to the heartbeat today.. I am going to beg her!

Hope baby starts wiggling for you soon, Kate!

Do you have your 16 week midwife appointment today? Me too! We really are very close!

Haha no way holding thumbs!! Yep, 9:15 this morning, my 4 year old came with me armed with a million questions, poor midwife! How was yours? Mine was really quick, didn't even check wee or weight! Just blood pressure, a quick chat and then (yay!) she looked for the heartbeat. Took ages amd my heart was in my mouth but she found baby right at the top of my uterus.. Was hammering away between 140-150 so all good! Hope yours went well and we both get some wriggles soon :)

She didn't check wee or weight for me too, and it was also super quick. But I burst into tears and am still crying with the emotion now. She couldn't find baby's heartbeat for ages and I was feeling so sick with nerves that something was wrong. But then all of a sudden - as if little one was saying 'Mummy, here I am!' - she found it, very loud and really strong. It was honestly one of the most incredible things I've ever heard. I think I'm just crying now with the realisation that I do actually have a baby inside me xx

Oh that's lovely Holdingthumbs! Glad everything is ok.
I have a strange pain low down on the right of my tummy, comes and goes, hopefully it's just muscular.
Got our 20 week scan tomorrow so will check all is well then. Not 20 weeks till Friday!
Here is my 19 week bump pic:

Oh wow Laura and Kate, that's wonderful. She didn't check the heartbeat at my 16 week appointment, don't know why, just said she'll do it next time.

Blueflower you look amazing for 20weeks and you're carrying twins! I feel so embarrassed by my bump! It's so big. I kept having a sharp pain on my left side throughout my last pregnany which they couldn't work out but they put it down to muscular!

Jealous you had the heart beat check, they won't do it for me until my emergency scan tomorrow because of a heavy bleed today just before I went to my midwife appointment.!! Timing ey! xxxxxx

oh no blonde- the baby really Is making you worry. Hope everything is ok. keep us updated. xx

That's wonderful holding thumbs.. I really sense you needed that! It's going to be a funny few weeks but trust me, you'll be feeling very pregnant very soon :) What date is your 20 week scan? Mine's the 16th Sept - i'll be 20+4 I think..

Oh lovely neat bump Blueflower! Hope the scan goes well!

I was so chuffed she did it Lisa - I needed the reassurance as I haven't had proper movements yet.. It varies from area to area and midwife to midwife it seems!

Oh no Abi :( Really good that they've got you in for a scan so quickly though.. I'm sure you'll be just fine lovely xx

Thanks! Hopefully that's what mine is too then.

Good luck Blonde P, hope its nothing to worry about. :hugs:

Guys I'm such a grump the last few days! I can't shake it, but I'm really short tempered. I can't even blame it on tiredness or sickness at the moment.

Woke up with a sharp stabbing pain in my right side, bump area. It worried me a bit, but I think it might just be that the old bowel movements have been slow for a few days.. it went away after about 5 mins anyway and no pain since.

Laura I am with you! I have been miserable my whole pregnancy. I was the same last time. I can't be bothered to do anything, see anyone, husband getting on my nerves when he's done nothing wrong. It's just hormones and keep reminding yourself of that. I was told the other day that you are less likely to have PND if you are miserable in pregnancy, don't know how true it is but it certainly was true for me last time. Miserable in pregnancy and then overjoyed as soon as my baby was here, had no baby blues, nothing.

Thanks girlies, I'm not panicking too much as I'm sure I've felt baby at least once today.

Aww Laura that's so crappy, I'm in the same boat. Maybe it's just 2nd Tri hump and it will pass. Try focus yourself on doing little bits ready for when the girls arrive, nursery buying clothes etc? I find that boosts my mood xxxxx

I haven't bought anything yet as OH just moved back to UK and needs to secure a job before I go shopping! It's tough holding out, and I'm also waiting until 20 week scan as I want a third confirmation that we're having girls! I have bought some pink/purple yarn though and I'm attempting to crochet a blanket.

I like the idea that grumps now means no babyblues later. I'll tell OH that :D

Hope everything is ok tomorrow Blonde X
My bump is gigantic already lol I love it !
I'm still more of an anxious nelly than anything else at the mo!
Love hubby he bought us the perfect prep and the tommee tippee starter kit today :-)
