January 2017 mummies! **2nd Trimester.**

Ah that's the right spelling haha. Yeah I was surprised when she told me because I have been feeling baby for the past week and a bit. Nothing too strong but it's defo baby! I think it just means daddy won't feel it as much because it's basicall kicking a cushion xxxxx

Congratulations on your double team blue, blueflower!

BlondeP I also have anterior placenta, but I haven't felt movement yet. You're patient to cancel the private scan and wait to 19 week!

Who is next for gender reveal??

Glad the scan went well Abi X

One of my twinnies had an anterior placenta may explain why for me too X

Oh yes who's next ? Anyone else staying team yellow ? X

Congrats blueflower that's amazing news. It'll be lovely to have two little boys.

Blonde- really pleased all is ok.

I had an anterior placenta in my last pregnancy. I fel a swish last time when I was 18 weeks but didn't feel any definite movement til past 20 weeks. Not sure where my placenta is this time but I have felt movement but I'm not sure whether that is more to do with it being my second.

Glad all was ok Abi.. Gosh that does seem unusual for you to have been feeling movements with it being your first and having an anterior placenta! Maybe you just have an extra sensitive uterus!

I'm 100% team yellow - had a bit of a wobble last week and other half is starting to change his mind now but I'm determined to see it through!

So many having anterior placenta. Is it very common or are we just not a representative cross section? :-)

I'm definitely staying team yellow, if I can. I'm worried with all the extra growth scans I might not be able to avoid seeing something, but I'll try my best.

Yowchers I have horrid low down pains today :( Haha not sure Lisa, I guess they must be fairly common - there are only a few places it can go?! Yay, we can stay team yellow together :)

A bit off-piste ladies but I have a wedding reception to go to on Saturday and I don't want to spend a fortune on a gift as we're not particularly close and I'm only going to the evening bit.. Those who are married, which smaller gifts stick out for you as being particularly nice/thoughtful?! I don't want to look like a right cheapo but after holiday we're feeling rather skint!

I've blamed it on my lack of muscle around there haha. But I suppose I have always been majorly I tune with my body, I think partly due to my awful anxiety! Looking forward to actually feeling kicks now.

The wedding we went to recently was for close friends but we were a bit strapped as we were also paying to stay over etc.. We got a crate of 6 different bottles of wine from our local wine store that we knew they would love. I then wanted to label them for when we thought best to be drunk ie first night home after the wedding, 1st anniversary, after the first argument but my partner thought that was 'silly' so we didn't :( looking back I totally would of now! . Cost us about £35.

Only thing was. We found out on the wedding day that the bride was expecting so won't be drinking wine for a while!!!

xxxxxxx

I've had a few as well & also sometimes a bit of tenderness in my lady parts lol!
Yay a few more team yellow :-) I'm the same I'm going to tell all my sonographers that we don't want to know if poss X

When we were married we got a great gift from our friends, they know we love the cinema & they got us the virgin experience cinema at the courthouse hotel in London which is a small 90 seat cinema which included a free champagne or whiskey cocktail & hubby isn't a fan of Valentine's Day as its so commercial but we used this voucher on a valentines to go and see breakfast at tiffanys and you know what it was lovely such a fab time x or maybe an afternoon tea if they like that kind of thing ? Tbh most people just love that your there at the wedding & really don't expect anything crazy or fancy if anything at all. X

Abi your present sounds perfect X

You guys are so patient! I want to know what you're all having haha.

I officially had my first stranger bump-grab me today! I was in a shop and she came over and was like "when is the baby due?" and then wanted to know how old I was, was it planned, how could I be only 18 weeks as I'm so big (even after I said twins) and then put down her stuff and grabbed my bump hahah. I thought this sort of thing would really irritate me, but it didn't really, but I think that's because she seemed quite nice.

Oh you are good Laura, I got really upset when a stranger did that to me last week. I am at the point where I don't like people talking to me or asking about the baby and especially not touching my bump! OH I am fine with but I just feel that it's no one else's business. Someone even dared say to me (another stranger!) 'Was it planned?'.

But strangely I can talk to all of you about it! More so than I can even talk to my best friends about it!

Ohhh pregnancy hormones how you confuse me. xxxx

Yippee, I think I'm team yellow too! My husband desperately wants to know, but I think I really want the surprise and the motivation during labour of not knowing, so we've been discussing it lots. He's been really good though, bless him, and said that it's my call as I'm doing the cooking and the getting baby out! Everybody I tell about not wanting to know looks at me like I'm totally insane though - and then tells me I'm being ridiculous - so it'll be really nice to have some support on here. Scan's on 16 September so only a few more weeks to finally decide.

Yeah she did want to know if it was planned, and was I quite young and are my parents ok with it haha!

Anyone else's boobs starting to resemble udders? My nips look like frying pans at the moment too.

If by udders you mean facing the floor Laura then yes :'(

Don't want to upset you girls but my first pregnancy destroyed my boobies! Think i've been especially unlucky though.. They're droopy, covered in stretchmarks and my areolas are the size of digestives.. They used to be perky 32Cs :,( My partner says he still loves them, bless him, world's worst liar!!

Thanks so much for the wedding gift suggestions! Abi the labels sound like an amazing idea - should have put your foot down ;) Sarah a day/evening out is a lovely idea as i'm sure they'll be strapped after the wedding..

I used to quite like stranger bump grabs because I faced so much negativity it was nice to have someone, albeit a stranger, excited for me! I got very fed up of people asking if it was planned.. Gaah just so inappropriate! Older mums get it just as bad though.. Some people are just too narrow minded for their own good..

I think I will totally freak out if a stranger tries to touch my bump. Questions I can handle but no physical contact please!

As for wedding gifts, anything that isn't a thing is a good idea in my mind. So consumables, experiences etc. Like maybe a "gift card" for brunch/afternoon tea/dinner with you and your SO. A lot of couples worry about losing contact with their friends when getting married.
The wine idea is great too, you could do similar for other things like fancy tea, biscuits, even homemade. A basket of homemade goodies if you like to cook and bake.

Bummer Kate! I wouldn't have said no to a little extra, but now I want my perky ones back!
