I thought I would start a new thread as I know there are a few girls going to be moving across to ttc in Jan

We want to start ttc in Jan as it means there will be a minimum of 2 years between C and newbie. We also want to go snowboarding in Dec/Jan before we ttc again as didnt go this season. I'm bf at the mo but will finish by a year so that will give my body a few months to hopefully return to normal too as not had any periods yet.

Looking forward to Jan and having some friends to go through it with again :)

Great thread!

I think January will be a great time to start TTC. New year, new baby! And the Christmas madness will be over, so will be a good time to start eating healthily again.

I hope I can still carry on bfing and get pregnant, what do you think? I wanted to bf for two years...

:yay: i will be stalking you next year sweety eek

Thanks lynette :)

I.love hopefully by the time you are ttc your periods will have returned (mine haven't returned yet) I think once LO drops some feeds that can help them return. Does your LO feed much through the night? I think when they drop them that can have an affect on periods etc. I'm looking to bf until a year. I never thought I would get this far!! Colby feeds on demand every 2-4 hours (sometimes more through the night).

Sassysugar, when you said 'sometimes more through the night', did you mean that Colby does longer breaks b/w feeds through the night, or eats even more often?

Georgie also feeds about every 3 hours day and night, sometimes more often at night (at night he often wakes up hungry in 1.5 hrs!).. I haven't slept for more than 2.5 hrs without a break for a couple of months now! (hope I'm not gonna scare off any girls who are waiting to TTC lol!). But I hope this is going to change soon...we're just starting introducing him to solids, so maybe this will make a difference!

Exactly the same as you, he seems to feed more at night for some reason! Already fed 3 times tonight, wee rascal! Sometimes I think he just uses me for comfort like a dummy.

Its amazing though how you get used to functioning on broken sleep lol.

Wow! Sorry that you don't get long sleep either, but it feels quite good to know that there are some other babies like G. I was getting rather tired of all the forum stories of babies sleeping through the night since 2 m.o.!

Yeah only today I was telling my husband that sleep is overrated. I never thought that I could live on so little sleep and be quite happy. And even think about a second baby!

Do you give any solids to Colby yet?

Never got round to replying to this again :dohh:
I started C on solids just before 6 months. He pretty much eats whatever we're having. He has poridge or toast for breakfast, then whatever I have for lunch and dinner. He loves bananas and melon!

Have you started yet? How is your lo? C is such a character now and very vocal. He is currently sitting beside me squealing away. He loves the sound of his voice lol

Is it really bad that I would like to start ttc now? But going to try and hold off until the new year....... 8 months and counting........

Lol I know exactly what you mean I'm desperate to start ttc now, but I'm still working on getting hubby's agreement!!! I guess it probably is a bit too soon as I am loving giving LO unlimited attention and besides I think it will be at least October before I'll be able to get him to agree to anything!!!!

We first started weaning Georgie at 5 months, but he got soooo windy that we stopped. Started again two days ago :) yesterday he had butternut squash. Was not that impressed - he makes such a disgusted face, it's hilarious! On the whole he is ok, but doesn't sleep well. Keeps waking up every 40-60 mins :(

Can C say any words yet? :)

I would like to be pg again too! But not sure how I would cope with two, and what would happen to my job. And I am so off sex since birth! I just can't be bothered at all. I guess I'll have to make an effort and get back into it by the end of the year.

C pulls funny faces too when he tries something new, it makes me laugh.

He says 'da da da da' all the time and has just started with 'ma ma ma ma' and also just chats away to himself.

It took me nearly 5.5 months before me and oh dtd again as I had an episiotomy and my stitches came undone  so was sore for quite a while after. It's still not completely right now but I have my smear in a couple of weeks so will see what they say. Baby with big head not good lol. Hopefully baby no 2 will be an easier birth.

Gosh you must be so tired with him waking so often. C has started to extend slightly going anything from 3 to 6 hours now - but this has only happened in the past week or so. We did have a bad night when he was up for 3 hours and didn't realise until the morning that he had 2 more teeth pushing through. Poor wee pet.

When do you finish maternity?

Bunnykins - October won't be long in coming round!!!

I keep wondering how I will cope with another lo but I think it must be harder going from no children to one child than from one to two children iykwim.

Poor you! That must have been very unpleasant. Unlike you I don't have any excuse for not wanting any sexy time. My poor oh! I just don't want to do it, can't do anything about it.

I am planning to go back to work in October, G will be almost one then (I'm using my holiday to extend my leave to maximum). I'm dreading it already! I will need to go back full time as well. What about you? Are you on maternity leave at the moment?

As to coping... I was reading a book about babies recently... It said smth like "if you think that you will be twice as busy and tired when you have a second one, you are wrong. About ten times more!". I am still thinking about it - can it really be that bad?? I just keep reminding myself that G is a very bad sleeper. Chances are the next one would sleep much better!!

When I'm exhausted I'm definitely not in the mood, so that's probably why you aren't interested at the mo. Roll on when G and C start sleeping through the night, we won't know ourselves!!!! When I go to bed, I want to sleep not do other things. So poor hubby here too lol.

My maternity/holiday entitlement finishes this week (I added on some holidays to the end) but I'm not going back as we are abroad at the mo with oh's job. So I'm being a sahm for a while until we are back in the UK. It's weird not going back to work as I've always worked, but also nice to spend some time with C, plus not as easy for me to get a job here as I don't know the language. Also don't like the thought of not bringing in any money but will just have to get used to it for the meantime.

i had a bad episiotomy experience too....still very sore and going to need corrective surgery...but we have managed to dtd...just 2 times though and only in the last week. its sore afterwards though and can only do certain positions...lol

we are looking to ttc around jan/feb 2013 too...hannah is 1 in feb....and we want to start trying again when she is 1. we got pregnant first time both times last year (one ended in mc) so hopefully we wont have any problems this time...

i have been advised to have an elecive c section and thats best for my mental state too cos i had such a traumatic birth i could not have another if i had to deliver again :( sad but true...it's affected me that much. post traumatic stress :( xx

Oh right, where are you now? Are you coming back soon? Must be hard to be at home all the time if you don't know the language of the country that you live in. Do you have any friends there at all?

Samsgirl come join our little Jan-2013 club! :)

:yay: samsgirl come join us!!

i.love will pm you with where I am, as don't want to say on the open part of the forum. I struggled a little at the start, we just moved in January. I'm finally settled now and really enjoying it. Most people do speak English which really helps or they speak enough for me to get by lol.

There are quite a few other brits here so I socialise with them (they work with my hubby) but none of them have babies, their children are older, so I have started going to baby swimming and meeting some mums with babies round the same age as C which is nice.

We are here until the middle of next year, where we will either be back in UK or go somewhere else in Europe. I don't mind though as it's easy because C is so young and that's why I don't mind having another so soon with not working.

Yeah definitely a good time to move around while they are so little. Your life sounds very interesting, and with you being able not to work and spend your time with lo, and then have another one... I'm quite jealous actually :) I think it would suit me just fine.

I also want to join some sort of mummy-and-baby club soon... G is behind on his vaccines ATM, but as soon as they are all done I think I will make it my mission to go and make some mummy-friends. I have a friend with a baby of the same age and they already love playing together :) even if it only means slapping each other in the face and sticking hands into each other mouths lol

Hi girls... How are you all?

My little boy is going to turn one very soon. I am back at work. And we are NTNP at the moment. Couldn't be bothered with contraception anymore, so decided to just let it go and see what happens. I still haven't had my period since G was born, so it's very unlikely that anything will happen anyway.

Hi i.love, great to see you back on the forum  how is working going and how's your wee man, can't believe he's nearly a year!!

Are you still bf? I am, but only before bed and first thing in the morning. He now sleeps through, can hardly believe that I'm getting sleep  my period returned two weeks ago but will be interesting to see how regular it is. We are still waiting until next year but looking more like feb/march time. There's a few of us in wtt now, waiting for next year :)
