Induction's booked!! EEK!

Hiya!

Just got back from the Midwife. She said she could give me a sweep next Tuesday when I see her (in 2 minds about it at the moment though) and she's also booked my induction for 29th June!!!!

All was good as usual though apart from our little monkey tried to scare us because she couldn't find his heartbeat for about 4 mins!! He's laying right around my left side in a moon shape but his head is half engaged so he can't possible be comfy! lol She found it in the end much to our relief. OH said afterwards "that was a bit scary" bless him! x

glad you got your induction date! so why dont you know if you want to have a sweep done? x

We've very much gone with 'let nature take it's course' the whole way through the pregnancy. I haven't tried raspberry leaf tea or evening primrose or anything like that so I don't know if I want anybody 'messing about' up there lol.

But on the other hand I REALLY don't want to wait until 29th or to be induced so it might be a good idea to try and get him started with the sweep.

If he could come before next Tuesday it'd be perfect because I won't need one then lol x

aww thats is good, your mf sounds as organised as my one, she has booked my sweep for wednesday next week and an induction on the 2nd of July if nothing has happened before. I'm not sure I want my sweep either but for different selfish reasons. like the day after I need to travel to over 100 miles to glasgow to the take that concert. I really don't want to miss the concert or give birth at it! lol. hopefully it won't come to that though.

Ohhh that's exciting hun weird to think that 15 days is the longest you have to wait until your little man is here!! Hope he comes before then for you though x

I had my first sweep yesterday, and I'm the same as you, don't like being messed with, but it really didn't hurt and was over within a couple of minutes! If our little man isn't here by friday, i'm being induced this saturday! Very nervous but also excited to be finally all over x Good luck

Ooo how exciting Claire! Not too much longer to go, hopefully it happens before the sweep (if u decide to have one) and if not defo before the induction!

i wouldnt mind a sweep so much but dont really want to be induced would rather go naturally if i can. however i am trying to encourage him out cos then less chance of induction.

at least you have a date though hun. how exciting. xxx

I've decided to have the sweep, if it means potentially starting labour naturally rather than waiting until 29th then so be it!

Just hope he starts himself off before next Tuesday so I don't have to gear myself up for being prodded lol x

I am glad I had the sweep. I think. Although if nothing comes of it I will be very disappointed.

Claire i had 2 sweeps and neither of them worked but i was really happy with how my induction went. If i had my time again i wouldnt bother with the sweeps - they just hurt and didnt seem to do anything else.Induction doesnt have to be a bad thing - my induced labour was so short! x
