How are all you new mummies doing?

The cold is rife just now! It's worse than the sick bug for defo, S could hardly drink her milk this morning cos her nose was so full, managed to make her sneeze and it cleared a bit!

That's horrible nat! At a time where you need your friends most too. I've got a group of 5 best friends from school but Laura was my best best friend out them all iykwim. I have other wee groups that I see from time to time especially now we all have babies but just don't know how I'll get the time now. :-(

Horrible weather here today but need to go to the shops for last minute things. Probs be good for S to get wrapped up and some fresh air anyway!

Aw Jojo, that's bad news. I wish I had more friends full stop, unfortunately I'm a selfish cow and I work too much so not going to happen lol

Why is she moving?

Well she had a flat she was Renting from her mum but she needs to sell it because her mortgage on her house is due a lump sum next year. Her and her husband have been saving for a house but because he's not permanent in his job yet fluid only get a mortgage for 60k so they moved to Durham because it's cheaper and 60k got her a 3 bed house. She's also got the possibility of working at a private nursery for 8k more a year.

It's a good move for her

I have a group if best friends
One can't get past her husband to get out much
One is moving
One lives in London
One lives in Germany
One lives in Australia!

I never see them and my brother who I. Really close to lives in Coventry

3 bed house for £60k! That's insanely cheap!!

Had a dreadful night's sleep last night, but made up for it somewhat by OH letting me have a lie in until 8am(!) this morning followed by some retail therapy in the mothercare toy sale. Got £120 of happyland toys for £50! So that's her birthday sorted :-)

It needs updating. Single glazed. Stoirage heaters, non fitted kitchen, green bathroom lol but liveable. Probably needs about 12k of work done tbh

Emma went back to bed 7-8, so I did the same :-) although had to get everyone out the door by 8:50. Jack was running cross country for his school, I had physio, Maddie had Showshack. Home now making soup and getting ready for my Saturday afternoon nap. Yippee.

Jen, that's good S was fine at nursery. It's a good age to get them started before they get to anxious about us leaving them.

Kathryn, hope Thomas is better soon. The dreaded cold is definitely the worst. Have you got the nasal spray thing too?

Sounds more like 20 if it needs windows bathroom kitchen and heating!! :/

But even so - still dirt cheap!!!

shes not doing the heating... she said shes fine with storage heaters - shes just thinking kitchen, bathroom and windows. shes had quotes for the work and it comes to just under 11k

So grossed out. Daniels had a mobile hairdresser round to do his hair. Was cheap at 6.50 but she stank of that sweet stale smoke smell and there was hair everywhere. Has taken me 30 minutes of hoovering and ousting to feel clean again :(

That's disgusting! Not a fan of oust myself, have you tried the air wick that doubles as fabric freshner? It's brill!

Anyone cooked their own fish for LO? Was gonna quiz fish monger next time I went to morrisons but just spied the local asda selling it in fridges. How do I check to make sure all the bones are out? They're boneless but still a teeny chance the odd one might be there! It's putting me off making fish pie for LO

By the way I meant the hairdresser not your taste in air freshener!

we use carpet fresh for fabrics and fabreeze air freshner. i bouyght 10 bottles of the wintery one last xmas to see me all year so i have spiced apple all year around.

im thinking of getting rid of my coffee table for a while because the last few days luke has been comando crawling everywhere and the bottom help is right on line with his head.

Yep I cook fish for Oscar :)

Poach it in whole milk

Use a peice like haddock, cod, hake etc - easy white fish that flakes well :)

In just worried I wouldn't feel it!just put austin in his cot to run the bath & put his clothes away. Started to put his clothes away & he pulled himself up! Good job it happened before bed coz he was hanging his head over the edge quite a bit. Hubby gotta lower it before he goes down now!

I found Emma doing the same thing last weekend. Had Chris drop it to the lowest level.they are developing so quick now!

Jojo, I had the same conversation about getting rid of coffee table about an hr ago with Chris. We've had it pushed in to the corner for a while, but it seems to be a magnet to Emma. She's crawled straight in to the corner a few times now. And also pulls herself up at the edge. It's quite low so I'd imagine she would be climbing on to it soon :-/
