How are all you new mummies doing?

Hubby found a picture he drew a while ago :) it's going in Luke's room

Yesterday I gave S just some dry bread to sook on then one of they carrot crisps later and she loved it. She also does better with the spoon herself so I'm thinking finger foods might be best. Any first finger foods that your babies liked? I noticed all the baby rice cakes were flavoured... Are they just the same as the adult ones cos Id rather just give her a plain one to get used to the texture.

That made me laugh Douglas, it's so true. Mum knows best, meaning ME, not my mil and certainly not my mum! ;-)

The flavour is so minimal! I ate one and I couldn't taste it! lol I just got the tesco apple and raspberry ones. Ryan loves strawberries, if u just cut them in half they're a good size, breadsticks, pepper sticks, raw or cooked carrot batons, green beans, toast with soft cheese or butter, I got the boots own onion ring things (they're vegetable I think) and last but by no means least the carrot stick things like giant wotsits! Ask iWitch!! Lol Ryan wolfs then down but they're quite good to start as they just turn to mush xx

God yes the carrot stix! Austin refused to even try mush anything around his mouth until I gave him these! He goes crazy for them. Noticed after they say 12mths + but he's doing well with them!

Macie loves the carrot sticks too she's not crazy about purées so I've started just giving her stuff to hold n eat n even in a week the difference in her grip has suprised me xxx

I got one of those food nets. Haven't used it yet though. Do you jam it full Bex then let them suck on it?

I'm doing a mix of weaning too. Mainly feeding Emma as I think I've just got it in the back if my head that it worked with the older two. But when she sits with us at dinner time, also give her bits to nibble on. Most still goes on the floor, but it's at least keeping her entertained. Oh and give her toast once a day too that she seems to like. It's a good distraction to jam some veges in her mouth!

Feel like a new woman today. Bed by 9 last night even though the plan was to be asleep by 7. Tilted Emma's cot up. Had the calpol vapour thing going, calpol given, and nasal spray to clear her nose. And she slept till 3:45. So much better than awake all the previous night. Took an hour to get her back to sleep and then it was in out bed, with me crammed in the bottom corner. But glad for the sleep :-)

Yep Toria! Just shove whatever you want in there and let her go for it! It's a pig to clean if you put banana in so don't do that haha! I put all sorts of soft fruits in there :)

Oscar loves thane organix carrot stick things and he has apple rice cakes - I'd just let Scarlett crack on Hun! Seems like BLW is def for her!

Oscar loves toast with unsalted butter or dairy lee sarnies :)

So I turned to get something from the kitchen, and turned back to find Emma had pulled herself up n her highchair and was standing while holding on to the table! It clips on to the table and hasn't got shoulder straps, so think we are going to need a new highchair!

Yikes lol

We found Luke ya dig up in his saucer thing holding onto the bar above it like they do on gymnastics lol I swear our kids could join the circus.

I also feel I may have given Luke too much carrot and potato recently as his poo is kinda orange lol

OMG toria.. Watch out for that one!!

Yeah she seemed to like the carrot crisp thing too, think cos it's the right size to grip. I'll try the other things too ladies, thanks! Hubby said she was fussing with milk earlier and no major poos today so might try her with some purée and bread again when she wakes up from her nap x

Amazing pic too jojo, he's a good artist x

I think there poo just gets noxious after awhile. You can def tell when Thomas has dropped one, doesn't take too many minutes before the whole room stinks

He doesn't see it, but I think he's really good. I want him to do a portrait of Luke but he won't. He has no confidence with it. A

I'm still a bit nervous of giving Maddie things like bread but she loves her food so I'm building up gradually, I have her a Heinz biscotti thing which she liked and I've gave her stick of rusk and carrot and things like that so I'm getting there! 1 month til holiday so need to start giving her more although ai have got lots of pouches to take as well so should be ok

Uh oh, time to baby proof the house! Emma just crawled a few steps!

Woo!! Go Emma!!

Luke isn't interested in crawling, he likes to pull himself towards the nearest thing he can try and use to stand up though lol. Apparently my brother never crawled until he could walk lol

Luke is in bed but I totally expect he will wake up in he middle of holby city to make up for allowing me to clean the kitchen, bathroom and living room this evening lol

Where has my squidgey little baby that just lay there. It's going by way too fast.

Always the way Jojo. They always wake when you are doing something you want to do.

My baby has forgotten how to go to sleep at bedtime. Hubby is up with her while she cries again. She's been fine going down for her naps today so I really don't understand why she won't go to sleep :-(

Eta: congrats to Emma for crawling!

Maud Luke was doing that and since we've put a light on his room he's stopped doing it. Could be the tiniest thing effecting them.

Go Emma, Harry is q nightmare he is so fast now I have to watch where is he is all the time!! I'm so gutted how quick it's going.
