How are all you new mummies doing?

We've gone back in time. Little one is still up. After an hour of inconsolable screaming we had to bring her downstairs so we could get some dinner. She's still wide awake but reduced to grizzling now. :-(

Aww no Maud! Hopefully she settles soon.

Hayley went to bed at 7pm so im hoping she sleeps through, was abit nervous as she went for a nap at 5:30 which is alot later than normal!

Small hard ones mean constipation

Keep on with an Oz of boiled water daily to keep his bowels moving
I have done - thank you for advice. We've had 3 tiny hard poos today and about 2 hours of pain and crying (from 5-7pm). I actually gave the oz of water during this time as it comforted him. Switched to aptimel from last feed. I also might look into the comfort aptimel which says it can help constipation. But want to give the normal one a week or so to see what happens.

Also naming your child bunny? Oh dear! I have an older relative whose nickname has always been bunny but it's not actually her name!

She has finally gone to sleep! Am celebrating with a little glass of wine. I'm blaming her cold.

Aw bless her, hope she's ok maud!!

Bunny?! Dutchess Kate for her next baby.... She some machine!! What happens when these poor kids go to school. It's crazy. Each to their own to pick a name but I think sometimes it's too far.

We have had a fairly successful day. Still a good few nappies and changes but no sick and she even managed to sook on some bread and ate a carrot crisp thing. If she's up to it tomorrow I'll get back on the weaning band wagon ;-)

I know a bunny but she's called bernice

Dutchess Kate? That's a ridiculous name for a child. Think some parents fail to realise the baby will grow up into an adult and need to use that name

Enjoy your wine Maud! I'm having a wee cider to relax :)

Hopefully S is better tomorrow. I'm going to be starting weaning Hayley soon, 13 days until she's officially 6 months so won't be long :D

Hope it works - failing that give an Oz in morning and Oz in afternoon. Aptamil may help- not sure what he's on ATM. Comfort formula can help too but remember you may need a bigger teat size as it's thicker formula. Also prepare yourself for smelly green poo with comfort milk :)

Thanks kaedin. Not long to go for you! S is 6 months on fri, where did it go! :-( hv thought that was why she was fussing over bottles. Doc on sat said to me 'well done for holding out til 6 months' thought that was a weird thing to say!

He's been on sma - just as that's what they had in hospital and what oh bought when we came home. For a start aptimel doesn't have the horrid sweet smell of sma and hopefully it will help Alfie.

Comfort milk will be a last resort. Thanks for advice re teats.

My doc said to me when I took her re bug are u still giving her food I said she's only 18 weeks n he looked puzzled at me n said oh I weaned my little boy from 16 weeks and he's fine they need it sometimes! The conflict in advice sometimes! Xxxx

They say 'around 6 months ' sometimes abit before sometimes after - it doesn't have to be 6 months on the dot

Advice does change - tbh - I know very few babies not weaned untill 6 months lol!

A hv visited me and said they were going to change it back to 4 months but they haven't yet.

My Hv has been very not until 6 months! I thought the official advice is not before 17 weeks I don't no many babies that have been weaned at 6 months either just thought it was funny a doc told me that when the advice they should give u is 6 months he looked baffled to were I'd had the 6 month info from lol xxx

Yeah that is weird lol

My bro was weaned at 12 weeks, by 4 months he was on 3 meals a day lol

GPs and HV are on 2 different planets I think!

Yes I think pre 17 weeks is a big no however my god son who's just 2 - was weaned at 3 months and had been having olvultine or whatever it's called from 8 weeks! My best mates parenting skills differ from mine shall we say lol! She's very much leave them to cry, don't pick them up and wean them ASAP

I'm all for the opposite
