How are all you new mummies doing?

Pahahahahhaah that made me roar Jen!

Pumpkin- try giving nothing sweet for a while - my HV warned me about this - said to avoid sweet but if he started to fuss over savoury and still are sweet then to cut it out - we are biologically programmed to prefer sweet

I tried Oscar on another Ella's kitchen pouch - hated it and spat it out and had a complete flid - that's 3 pouches he has turned his nose at now - think it's safe to say - mums cooking is better

Cracked me up too! Bet it's like toy story in their rooms at night once we are asleep and our babies are the Buzz!! Haha

Have you tried giving him things to sook on jojo like bread or rusks to soothe him and get some food in hopefully.

Oscar defo loves his mums home cooking then! ;-) Scarlett got her sickness after my carrot.. Telling me something?!

I'm
Not giving him any finger food after he almost choked last time - I'm leaving it until 7 months. He won't have anything cold either and actually he's avoiding anything in his mouth other than his own hand and his dummy - won't use teething rings or anything

Yeah think I might have to scale back sweet. He will eat the savoury it's just not as easy as it was and he never even sees the sweet till he's finished his 'main'.

Going to start cooking some stuff on Wednesday so hope that will change things

I don't give Luke anything sweet if he doesn't eat his main but Banaba yoghurt is his fave so I thought if try it but it was a no go.

My little man is Alfie Leonard - he was born at 34 +4 and weighed a good 5lb 9. Waters broke at 34 weeks exactly and after a few days in hospital I went into labour. Unfortunately due to discovering that week that he was breech, I had an emergency c-section. We had some issues - jaundice and a stay in nicu for him, and a nasty wound infection for me.

We are doing well but Alfie seems to be struggling to poo today. He had a dirty nappy this morning but has been painfully passing wind this eve and been very distraught. Also been quite sicky too. Planning on switching formula from sma to aptimel this week to see if that helps. Any advice gratefully received x

We never tried switching formula brands but did swap from normal aptimal to comfort which worked for us. He's never really suffered from colic because we switched onto pretty early. He's still on comfort now. If you do choose this path then you may need to switch to next teat size as it's thicker. Might be worth trying an oz of cooled boiled water first tho on a daily basis :)

Austin definitely prefers sweet to savoury but he does eat the savoury just with a lot of faffing! He's seems to prefer them at room temperature too which is great with jars as no messing. He's taken to pulling his bib off every too mins too which prolongs the feeding

My daughter Hayley got pretty constipated, but that was only once I started using gaviscon infant for her reflux. To help I would try to give her an oz or 2 or cool boiled water. Hayley hates drinking water so its still a palava but would help in the nappy department ss she'd drink a little extra

Weaning question: Once you start must you give food every day? The things i've read say your still supposed to give the same amount of formula so does that mean as youre only giving food for texture more than nutrition it doesn't need to be each day? So could miss say 1 day a week of food ?

I'm on blood thinning injections, one stab a day for 6 weeks! I'm not sure if it's only for cesarean births? You should call the hospital and check. They do a score for you to see if and how much you need.

Hello all, I'm new to this (chat room and baby!)
I was admitted into hospital for a rash that appeared on my abdomen and spread across my back- it was suspected chicken pox. However, they found I have immunity so have already had it, therefore baby protected! I'm 8 weeks pregnant. Since being discharged I first had a terrible
Cold/flu like symptoms without fever and have been experiencing terrible vomiting and diarrhoea:( I have called 111 Nhs direct and spoken with a local GP and they don't think it's morning sickness, but believe it's a big I picked up whilst in hospital- not feeling great, although starting to feel better today. I have a dermatology appointment at the hospital tomorrow and result from swabs of the rash back so will hopefully diagnose my itch and fingers crossed the vomiting and diarrhoea has stopped! I haven't been able to eat anything for 2 days and drinking even water has been hard. I would love to hear others experiences. Hope you are all doing well- despite feeling tired and confused! Wow didn't realise pregnancy especially first trimester was this hard! Xx

Sorry you feel so ill hun, I had bad sickness in tri 1 but it did ease by tri 2.

Can't believe my baby boy is 8 months old today the time has gone far to quickly!!!

Michelle.x

Dentist in 10 minutes - drilling I am not looking forward to the drilling!

I had a c-sec. Had blood thinning injections for 10 days which was fine by me. Actually got used to it. But I was walking outside by 5 days even if it was an effort! So I was fully mobile by that point.

Crazycatlady- glad you and Alfie are doing well now. I breastfed for 12 weeks and when I did switch to formula we had no issues. Swapping might work though. Have you tried gentle massage, leg cycling, warm bath and cooled boiled water? (All can be googled)?

Well dental work done ... They did bite sides and I can't feel the whole side of my left face... I also feel slightly shaky and really drunk... Is that normal?

Glad it's over jojo. I always feel drunk for a couple of hours after and really shaky. Think it just depends how you react to anaesthetic but I'm always the same x
