How are all you new mummies doing?

Same. I think it's one of those take all the advice and research you can but at the end of the day do what suits you and your baby topics! I personally will be trying to start around beginning of September when she'll be about 20weeks so we have 6 weeks for her to try things ahead of our holiday in October. I want to make sure we're used to some foods rather than be right in the middle of starting and then go on holiday and she's definitely going to need food before we go no way I could wait til after we're back as she'll be nearly 7 months by then

I agree it's each to their own but no way should a HV be giving that info out when there's no official guidance released.

It sounds like Jojo made the decision herself but imagine if someone was relying on info from the HV before making that decision

Yeah I had made the decision to try him and see if he was ready (and I really think he is-/ he's eating the food, opening mouth. Swallowing etc) and I was discussing it with hv before I started properly. I'm just giving a few spoons around lunchtime every day etc. but I dont know if it woukd hsve swayed me to wean earlier if I hadn't thought he was ready.

Harry Is 6months next week n has been weaning since the end of May he loves food and wudnt have wanted to wait till 6 months but that's us n our personal situation it really really is such a different story for each baby n I think only u can make to right choice for your bubba.

Honestly ladies I am loosing it. LO went to sleep in his bouncer after his bottle. He has been asleep for just over an hour. Just suddenly had a panic and had to check he was breathing. Honestly I am pathetic x

Nope I do this at least 10 times a day. I'm neurotic :(

Ladies my hands have well & truly had it! They're dry, flaky & sore from constant washing. Can anyone recommend anything? Preferably nothing too rich & greasy!

Mine too! Eumovate cream usually works for me. I'm using that and E45.

Aloe Vera - I've got an aloe Vera plant, just break a leaf off and smear the goo on your hand. All natural and works a treat. My hands have be terrible from all the hand washing I do. Also make sure you drink plenty of water. I find when I don't drink enough my hands get worse.

I've started giving Austin baby rice to see if it helps with his reflux. Because he's almost 19 weeks, I'm gonna follow the cow & gate weaning guide but stretch the length I trial him on something. The guide says rice for a week but I'll give it him for a couple of weeks instead.

I use hemp hand cream from the body shop brill :-) the weaning subject stresses me so much conflicting advice n everyone does different I'm hoping il know when the time is right!! Xxxx

Yea we started for a week or so on rice alone n was only a little bit a day, he now has porridge in the morn which he loves n a snack about 3 which Is either Rusk, carrot, peas, butternut squash, potatoes, banana n most of the time he has liked it. Guna try the pureed fruit this week pear, Apple etc it's all homemade so far although Will try sum pouches so he gets sum exotic tastes!!

Luke won't touch baby rice... Spits it out. He'll eat fruit and beg but not bsby rice.

Emma's not keen either. She will eat anything mixed with baby porridge though.

I am such an idiot. Really need some sleep and a few hours to sort my house.

Today I've found a cot mobile that can only be used from birth to 5 months. That would give me 10 more days of use if I manage to get batteries for it! A bunch of baby blankets that I forgot about, and have since bought more! I then remembered I've got a bunch of dummy holder clips somewhere and can't find them anywhere. Obviously put them somewhere safe!

I no the feeling Toria my house is chaos since having Macie I've got stuff everywere need a massive sort out but there's just not enough hours in the day with madam! Lol!
Well the jabs have kicked in been screaming from 3 took me ages to get her down :-( bloody hate them! Xxx

I used calpol after the third lot. Didn't make Emma sleepy at all, but might work for you.

I've given her some calpol Hun cus she was burning up but it didn't make much diff she's fast on now tho so I'm keeping everything crossed it doesn't upset her sleep poor little baba breaks my heart to think she's poorly xxxx

We didn't need calpol for injections (lucky really because Luke was barely effected) but teething has taken its toll on the bottle lol
