How are all you new mummies doing?

So we went yo mums for tea today and introduced Luke to hus great great uncle jimmy ... Was going well until he decided to announce I'm the middle of dinner "when I die you won't need to bother with a funeral - I'm donating my body to science" random! He's 89 and on his own - his kids live in Africa and only ring him once a year! They hsvent seen him since he moved back 12 years ago, so I guess he feels lIke he needs to be less of a nuisance... It's a great thing to do but made me feel sad... I love my uncle jimmy and never understand why his son is so awful to him.

On the upside Luke ate a third of a pouch of carrot, parsnip and apple... I've frozen the rest. Tomorrow we'll try so ethi g else... I've des covered he doesn't really like bsby rice, even with stuff mixed in

The weather has been so unpredictable today, left the house to go a walk with Hayley and OH and the sun was shining and lovely blue . Got on the motorway and drove towards drumpelier park suddenly it started pouring down! So just visited OHs family instead!

So hard to dress myself for this weather nevermind Hayley, constantly bring tonnes of extra layers with me incase it suddely changes

Set 2 and 3 of jabs was much better here too than the first lot.

Thomas has been mardy all day too, but I think that's more because daddy has been looking after him and doesn't entertain him as much/move him around as much as I do. Hubby wanted a nap earlier and Thomas wasn't playing ball (had a secret laugh to myself). Meanwhile I've been on day 2 of decorating. Finally finished the bathroom and now commuted to do the other ensuite we have our bedroom and the hallway and both landings, I must be mental!

My OH's step fathers kids don't see him at all. He's got 3, and 2 other step kids too, and we're the only ones who see him. He's in his mid 80's now, and in the 12 years I've been around I know of only 1 visit from one of them. And he got a Father's Day card a few years ago basically saying they can't wait for him to die so they can get his money. So so strange.

That's awful!

My uncle is so lovely - admittedly, he's a big talker but he's lonely and doesn't get out much, so can tire you out but he's lovely. He lived in SA during the apartheid so he's a little careless with things he says but he diesnt mean anything by it and he never meaning to be nasty. He was an artist and a jazz musician and I find him really interesting. I love him dearly and his family just don't get him. He sent his 3,000 btrombone to his son when he stopped playing last year and he dudnt even thank him!

People are so cruel

Hi ladies

Havnt been are to catch up on reading but found a corner of caravan that gets signal haha

Thought I'd say hello a d hope your all ok and LO's too!! X

Hi bex, hope everything's going well.

Jojo - that is cruel people can be do heartless.

4am Thomas has had a bottle after screaming the place down and is now wide awake kicking the end of his crib :(

Hi Bex hope you are having a good time. I haven't been on for a few days myself. Just packed hubby for to work and Joseph is asleep up to now (Let's see how long that lasts). Aw Kathryn I hope he went back to sleep for you. x

Hayley didn't wake til 6:30, which is surprising as she slept for ages before bed! I woke her up to put her in bed & change bum and she quickly went to sleep. I was worried she'd be screaming that I woke and moved her

She drank a full 8 oz bottle at 7am...and she's sucking away in her swing...so I'm thinking I might need to make another bottle! Yesterday she drank a 7 oz bottle and within an hour was screaming for another. She's becoming a right wee grubber!

Hope yous are all having fun Bex!

Hope Thomas has went back to sleep for a bit, starting your day at 4am is no fun

Great time!! Went to aquarium yesterday - off to the Eden project today! Weather dry from tomorrow onwards so lots of beach time etc :D

Oh and Oscar is sleeping through - caravan drops to 17-19 at night and he loves it! Every night he's in our room with aircon on he sleeps through but when in heat he doesn't so we've established he hates it hot

So pleased you are having a good time Bex. Well done Hayley. Joseph slept til 7.20am from 8pm last night (had a dream feed at midnight). He has settled well into his nursery. Although when I went in this morning the little monley was asleep on his side. (I had put him to bed at midnight in his back as I always do x

He did go to sleep but woke up at 6.30 -agh!! Brought him in bed with me and woke up at 8.30. How was I doing the every two hours newborn thing? I'm shattered.

Sounds great bex :)

I can't remember who was part of the discussion regarding cervical smears but I'm sure it was in this thread.

My first smear showed CIN3 abnormal changes in the cells & I had to have treatment. They got rid of the cells & have me the all clear & put me on a 3 yearly recall.

I've had my smear a little later due to having Austin but to the person who asked; my results came back normal so no biopsy or treatment required :D

Well Macie has had her jabs screamed the place down has just had 2oz of milk n is now fast on fx it doesn't effect her too much this time! Good luck to the other babies having there jabs today think it's maddie and Hayley xxxx

Aw bet your glad it's over nat!

Glad your having fun Bex, weather looks lovely!

God I thought S took a lot kaedin! She's started to want an extra bottle in the afternoon, screams like an hour after having a 7oz! Not long til I can try her on baby rice and hopefully it pacifies her more. Are you going to try Hayley soon?

Hopefully it doesn't affect Macie much x Hayley gets hers at 2pm, I feel sick to my stomach with nerves

I'm abit worried about weaning, I was invited to a weaning appointment and they said not to feed baby anything until 6 months as their digestive system can't handle it, they only need milk. But then I'm seeing things saying you can feed at 4 months? So it's abit confusing.. Hayleys body is still pretty wobbly when trying to sit up, so once she's stronger will see how much milk she's eating and see if she shows any signs of weaning

The guidance used to be to start weaning at 4 months, but about 10 years ago it was changed to 6 months except for under medical recommendation.

My HV told me to not wean before 6 months, as there is a link to chrons disease with early weaning. I don't know how much evidence based research there is to support claims, but I will be waiting until 6 months. x
