Healthy eating challenge...

i had a bacon roll for breakfast and a ham sandwich for lunch, about to start cooking my low fat chilli chicken curry for dinner. nothing in between which is good but i should have had cereal for brekkie :(

xx

Well done with the snacks hunny :) aslong as you had something for breakfast to keep your and LO's strength up, missing meals is the worse thing a pregnant women can do.

We are all doing so well :D x x

i find it much easier in the week as i have my set meals, cereal before work, my graze boxes (nuts/raisins etc) and fruit for snacks at my desk, lunch and then dinner when i get home.

weekends are MUCH harder!

im quite proud of myself as on the way back home from mothercare OH suggested a McD's and i turned it down for fresh bread and ham, was much more yummy too! great thread m2a xx

Well done for resisting the snacks m2a. I love a cut up crispy apple to munch on, only downside is, it goes brown quickly.

I did okish today. Had 2 rolls & fried egg for breakfast, I didn't have any lunch coz I wasn't hungry, but had a really long stretch without food, around 12 hours, duno how I managed it, had the rolls at 10.30 ish and was soooo busy all day in the house, so didn't get round to dinner til 10, so we ended up having a chinese. Which i'm not too bothered about as i'll still be within 2000 cals for the day.

Cant believe I never snacked on any biscuits through the day! Might have a wee chocolate biscuit & a yogurt before I head off to bed.

Good luck for tomorrow everyone.

:)

I've had so far today: Greek yogurt, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and granola for breakfast with a glass of freshly squeezed (not by me, Waitrose bought) orange juice and for lunch I had 3 sweet potato falafels with houmous and a feta and slow roasted tomato pasta salad and a bottle of water (all from Waitrose!!). Tonight, I will be having macaroni cheese for dinner as I've promised Lennon that (it's his favourite meal!). DH is out so will probably try not to snack on any biscuits and get an early night instead!!

I'm not too bad at the not snacking thing though, it's the portion sizes which I struggle with. My eyes are always bigger than my belly and I end up rolling around for the rest of the night feeling really uncomfortable. I often go back for seconds as well, not good!

Loving this thread M2A! I've been worrying a bit about my weight recently, i'm just so scared of not being able to lose it after the baby's born - what with being tired and everything and not having the energy to exercise (i also have Multiple Sclerosis so struggle alot with fatigue at the best of times never mind with a new baby to look after!) so am determined not to put too much on!!

So far today i have had an apple and banana for brekkie and Veg soup with 2 slices of wholemeal toast for lunch. I don't tend to snack much between meals but i do have alot of carbs at meal times - eat alot of pasta and rice, only ever wholemeal but still i know i shouldn't eat so many carbs

Hope everyone is doing ok today and sticking to their plans :)

Oh and i'm going to try and start doing my exercise DVD's again today - haven't done them for a week

DW and Dee, very healthy today!!

well last night i made my healthy curry and at 1am threw it all back up again :( can't believe i suddenly got sick at 23 weeks?! still feeling nauseous today so i made myself have dry toast for brekkie and a ham sandwich for lunch, also had an alpen bar.

Mackrel with garlic and chilli and thai rice for dinner.....if i can face it :(

xx

Well done ladies :D

Sorry to hear about your sickness coming back Pos, hope it calms back down again and you can enjoy yoyr tea as it sounds yummy.

Dee - aslong as your sticking to your meals and not eating inbetween i wouldnt worry about carbs, you and your LO need lots of energy.

DW - your breakfast sounds yummy, its made me feel hungry!

Today has been another good day, for breakfast i had weetabix and a glass of cranberry juice, i was hungry before dinner so snacked on a banana and for dinner i had cheese and onion sandwiches, a mullerlight yoghurt and a peach, so far so good. Im not sure what im having for tea as ive got aquanatal this afternoon so OH will have my tea ready for when I get in :) x x

Sorry to hear that you've got sickness back Pos!! Hopefully it's just a 24hr thing. I still get sickly days every so often, not been sick since about 15weeks though.
Hope you feel better soon xxx

Please can I join in!

I'm more of a lurker on these boards, but I am 27 weeks pregnant and my diet needs some serious alterations. I have gained 28lbs already and want to try and manage things now, rather than thinking of f*ck it and dealing with it after the baby is here.

As it happens, today is day one of my 'get back on track' plan. So I have spotted this thread at a good time!

Today I have had:
Breakfast, Branflakes
Snack, Grapes
Lunch, Baxters Lentil & Bacon Soup and 1 slice of bread. Activia Yogurt.
Snack, 2 Ryvita with low fat cream cheese and cucumber
Tea, Mince Onion and Gravy, Mash, Brocolli, Carrots and Peas. Small serving of Semolina.
Snack/ Treat, Blue Ribband 99 calorie bar.
& tonight I plan to have a Chocolate Options with some mini marshmallows on top.

I am expecting my Tesco delivery tomorrow and have ordered NO cakes, crisps and usual yummies. Instead, lots of fruit and salad and breakfast bars/ low fat snacks.
The hardest thing for me is meal planning because I already have 2 children and feel so exhausted that sometimes I just dont want to have to prepare food that takes ages. Sadly though needs must, you cant really make short cuts.
Saying that I am sure along the way we can pick up hints and tricks from each other.

Good start PinkSwoon!!

so far today i have had:

breakfast - branflakes
11am snack - fruit and seed flapjack from my graze box
lunch - tuna and salad sarnie with a packet of prawn cocktail
dinner - not decided but think it will be spag bol.

as part of my diet i have decided that i will have a snack between brekkie and lunch and lunch and dinner so two snacks a day but they are from my healthy graze box :)

xx

Yes we have! It's new to us, only opened in Guernsey a few months ago. Plus, it's literally a 30 second drive or 5 minute walk from my house, which is also about a 10 second drive or 2 minute walk from my work!! LOL. So very, very convenient. We usually have a lovely thai canteen lady at work who cooks us lovely lunches (pad thai, salad, roast, fish pie, thai green curry etc etc) for £1.80-2.50 so I usually eat at work at lunch time as it's much much cheaper but unfortunately shes away until next Tuesday (very inconveniently!!)

how selfish of her to take a holiday ;)
gosh if i had that sort of lunch facility at work i'd be huge!! xx

I know, I thought it was VERY inconsiderate, especially with me being so heavily pregnant. She could have at least waited until November!!

She will even make us take-aways to take home too.

Ive been ok'ish - had 1 quarter of a sandwich for lunch (was sick this morning & wanted to line my stomach) then I had a small baguette with tuna & coleslaw for lunch & an unusual dinner of cottage pie with cheese on top & cold sweetcorn and since then i've had 2 small pancakes with low fat spread, hopefully not having anything else.

:)
