Awww ok. I’m thinking if I get up about 7 and then drink some water and then don’t go again til my appointment at 10:30! I have never want to wish my life away so much as I want to right now to fast forward to the morning! Haha I’ll post it straight away! Xx

I was the same! I got to the app about 3o mins early as I just wanted to get up and out of the house haha.. I'm also terrible with bloods, but as they are phlabotomists (don't mind my spelling) they tend to get it done quick. I don't bleed well, so she had to try from both arms and then 'go in blind' and hope she hit a vein but it still didn't take her long. They've said they're going to scan me every 4 weeks from 28 weeks as my youngest was born small unexpectedly and it wasnt picked up during pregnancy. Enjoy your scan, it's amazing how much they look like baby's at the 12 week one! Xx

Hi everyone had my scan this morning at 9:20 and got to see our bubba didn’t go as planned was sick before I went so had to go toilet as well so didn’t have a full bladder baby was being stubborn and didnt want to be measured facing away from us so was in and out 3 times Emptying bladder walking coughing jumping the lot before we got all measurements and a pic which is pretty clear considering empty bladder so in love I’m also further along then they first thought I’m 13 +2 not 12+4 and due date now is my dad’s birthday 9 feb 2021 hope everyone is well love to you all xxxx

Awwww cute! Mine was pretty similar to that! I drank so much water so I had to empty my bladder three times and then the baby wasn’t in the right position to take measurements so had to wait outside. Was sick in the car park!!!!!! Then back in and all was perfect! So amazing! Off to tell our grandparents tonight.
ive got a question... so you know we’ve talked about the NIPT test? Well they took my bloods today and said they would test for HIV and things like that and then said are you ok for us to check it for abnormalities such as Down’s syndrome. So I said yes but I didn’t think the nhs did this? I thought that was the private NIPT one? Confused! Xx

The NHS offer screening for Down Syndrome, Edwards Syndrome and Pataus Syndrome, they do this by taking a sample Of your blood to measure hormone levels and also information taken from the Nuchal fold measurement at the back of babies neck. Using a complex algorithm they then calculate the chance that your baby will have one of these conditions.
It’s roughly 85% accurate. With NIPT they actually test the placental DNA circulating in maternal blood so it’s >99.9% accurate and also screens for other conditions too.
