****** February 2018 Mummy's thread. Hello tri 2 *****

Hi everyone! Ooooohhhhh I'm so excited too!!!!! Sometimes I wake up then think, oh my god, I'm pregnant yeyyyyy haha xx crinkles, if I were you I would get that leg checked out sooner? Seems a long time to wait until 31st?! Have you got any pain in your calf? Xx

Blood pressure is back up. 142/98.

Silly part is GP won't do anything because I'm 12 weeks and referred me to my midwife for advice. Midwife won't touch it before 16 weeks because it's unlikely to be related to the pregnancy. So I'm in limbo for a month. Plus apparently testosterone came back at an abnormal level so I'm in again monday morning to discuss that.

I just want a straight forward pregnancy I can enjoy. I'm sick of being worried now. UGHHHH

My feet are on fire today :/, Just the bottoms! I doubt I'm going to make Christmas at this rate with the amount of pain im in, id love to take an early maternity leave but I know the earlier I take it the earlier I'll have to go back to work :( I just wish I could afford to take the whole year off but since I'm the only one with a job in this house..we sort of rely on my wages every month to get by :/

That and really wanting to move house is getting me down too :( it's going to cost us about a grand to move :/ it's ridiculous what some people ask for for a bond :( I found the perfect house yesterday but again, bond too expensive and rent out of our price range! Is a 3 bedroom house with a nice garden and decent size kitchen too much to ask for?...story of my bloody life!!

Got my letter through for my consultant appointment yesterday, not until the end of September but apparently should find out my c-section date at the appointment!

TS - sorry to hear you're feeling crappy.. can't believe the gp/midwife won't deal with it!

Sebb - I feel the same about mat leave... would love to be off for Christmas, but I want a full year! We get 19 weeks full pay at my work place so that should help a bit, but still I don't think I'll be able to afford much time unpaid!

Beau - that's really exciting about the c section date!!

How annoying ts, do you think its worth buying a BP machine for at home? (I have one as I have a phobia of having my BP taken so before an appointment I take it loads myself to get me used to the sensation - exposure therapy LOL) but at least you can keep an eye on things for the next few weeks?

We need to move too, but wont happen until I am back at work so realistically early 2019

I am am planning to work until early / Mid Jan and then take 9 months + 1 months leave so back end of November 2018. I can't take the whole year this time! We can't afford it?

I had 2 Christmases off with my first, one Christmas off with my second so feel like I'd be taking the absolute Pi** to take another Xmas off!!! We'll see. I am going to wait until 20w scan and then make a decision.

X

I'm hoping to go off at Xmas. I have 3 weeks leave left so I thought that would take me to mid jan and then hopefully the baby will be delivered mid/late jan so I'll start my mat leave pretty close to the birth. I'll be having a full year off and then fingers crossed using my accrued leave to work 4 day weeks for about 7-8 months.

Getting to Xmas with no annual leave might be an issue mind!!

One blessing is I only work 3 days per week (which has been an amazing work/life balance) so I should be able to last until 37w this time!!!

Worked until 38w - full time - with number 2!!

My second will start nursery full time in September 2018 and then I'll come back 3 days per week end of November 2018.

x

Carnat. All I would be able to do is monitor it. I'm seeing the one decent doctor on Monday so I'll be having words.

As for leave. I'm on sick leave now and starting maternity in December. Then when that ends I'll be becoming a ftm until nursery starts. As much as I love the job I have the company is horrible to work for and I wrote Freelance anyway so I can top up with that

Just got back from our scan, was amazing to see a little bouncy, wriggly baby! They've kept my dates exactly the same so I'm due on the 24th Feb still and I'll be 13 weeks tomorrow....time to join the 2nd trimester party! Think my OH feels like it's all a bit more real now too!

Here's our scan piccy, anyone any gender guesses? Xx

Hi boobaby, so glad your scan went well! Beautiful scan pics!! I'm guessing girl and OH is guessing boy xxxx

Thanks BabyRuth and Wednesday! I'm hoping for a girl as there's lots of boys in mine and OH's families, but I'll be happy with either! It all seems much more real now! Got to tell work on Monday, and I've only been there 8 weeks....not really looking forward to it, but hoping they are ok with it!

Been and chosen my pram today too, my mum wants to buy that for me, so I've just let her know which one I've decided on x

Having such a bad day with my moods :( had a massive row with OH this morning as I'm desperate to move house, I wanted to do it soon before I'm too big to do anything or it's too late and I have the baby! He seems to think a 2 bedroom terrace house is plenty of space for a family of 4! When blatantly it isn't, obviously for the first few months baby will be in with us but it's hardly fair to keep them in our room for the rest of their days! And very unfair on my son if he has to share his room, I wanted both children to have their own spaces :(

And then we come to that wonderful DSS! which part of the rent will be covered by! The rest will be paid by me out of my wages! And the ridiculous prices of a bond and a months rent up front! :( How an earth does anyone afford those sort of prices :( there really is no wonder there's not that many homeowners around thesedays! Our present house is owned by OHs cousin! We do have a lot of memories here, As his mother used to live with us before she died so I can sort of see why he's reluctant but I just wish he'd look at things from a logical point of view instead! :( my mother seems to think if he doesn't move I've got to leave him and find somewhere!..it seems a tad silly to end a 7 year relationship over something so petty!..but with the way I'm feeling at the moment..:( I may have to do so!

Oh dear sebbiesmum, I would imagine it would be a struggle to fit all in a 2 bed house, are the bedrooms too small to share really? We are lucky that we bought our house off oh Gran which is the only reason we could ever have afforded our own home. The downside is it needed so much work doing to it so feel like I have a never ending list of jobs!

I have been off work this weekend as sickness has come back and had 2 bad migraines, just feel exhausted at the minute. Work aren't helping either, I have a broken chair that they seem to keep forgetting to replace and last week told me I'd have to do extra hours to make up missed hours from anti natel appointments. Seriously considering going to get a sick note if I'm not feeling better by mid week

Beau. They're breaking the law. You're legally allowed time off for all antenatal care and if they're putting you at risk with the chair thats even worse.

Point out to them that this amounts to discrimination.

I did say this and told them I wasn't making the hours up, they have paid me for last week but said I need to take other appointments on my days off, not always so easy in practice! They aren't really interested to be honest, we are in the middle of a merger so as long as their shops are open not too worried about our safety etc. Iv worked there for 11 years but has really gone down hill, can't believe how different they are to last time I was pregnant they couldn't be more helpful. Don't feel any loyalty to them any more, you just seem to be a number now so if I do stay off for another week or so I won't feel guilty!

Not all antenatal. Some have a cap before it's either owes time or taken off annual leave

Employers must give pregnant employees time off for antenatal care and pay their normal rate for this time off. The father or pregnant woman’s partner has the right to unpaid time off work to go to 2 antenatal appointments.

I got this off the .gov site... I've not heard of having to wrk back time missed before and I'm pretty sure it goes against the above. I would deffo raise it with them or your HR department.

Just trying the headaches are a nightmare! Was it you that had a scan this weekend? If so how did everything go? (If not sorry I shall blame baby brain lol)

15 weeks along and feeling little movements! Can't wait for the full strength kicks!
