****** February 2018 Mummy's thread. Hello tri 2 *****

Hey guys, guess I'm here now. Has my scan and NT, I've been moved forward and I'm now 13w4d. Could I get put down for a due date of 21st Feb please :)

You're entitled to paid time off for all antenatal appointments. You don't have to work any of it back or take annual leave - it's the law. You are protected by the law while pregnant x

Hi February Mums-to-be!
I've just joined this forum to find others in the same boat and countdown to February!

I'm a first time Mum and due 1st February.
My wife and I conceived via IVF so overjoyed to be here!

If I'm honest I'm also here for some support. Unfortunately it's not been the easiest of pregnancy's so far- I've suffered with HG and have been hospitalised 5 times since 6weeks. I'm currently on 4 types of medication and still managed to be sick today :( I've been signed off work for about 3 months now and am so fed up as every time I think I'm starting to get better and could head back I get so ill again- I can't even keep sips of water down once I start it's ridiculous and the smallest things seem to set it off.

I had my routine 16 week appointment with the midwife on Friday and she said I had sugar in my urine so need to be tested for gestational diabetes. Has anyone else experienced this? It's so ironic as I've barely been able to keep anything down so I'm amazed there was even enough sugar in my body to be able to waste some!
I've read up and don't have any of the risk factors for GD although it can happen to anybody apparently. Normally they do a fasting test but they think this will guarantee vomit so I think I'll need to do some blood readings instead- I'll find out more next week.

Anyway, sorry for the long possibly tmi introduction but I've been housebound for months and only had these things to think/ worry about. I'm hoping it will be helpful to speak to people who actually get it!
Of course, I'm keeping my spirits up by thinking that our baby is going to be so so worth it in the end- I just can't wait to reach the end already!

Has anyone checked out the August 2017 thread? It's been lovely reading the updates as babies arrive! That'll be us in the not too distant future :oooo::dance:

Just trying, my headaches are still persistent and completely exhausted! Been having palpitations and shortness of breath too but I'm guessing it's normal... I'm looking forward to the day when my head doesn't pulse with pain argh! On the plus side my bump has really come on in the last couple of days. 14 and a half weeks now and getting a definite bump yay! Xx

Smidges mum congratulations and welcome!! I've heard of a few people getting the gestational diabetes but I don't know too much about it.. really hope all is well for you xx my sister is currently 26 weeks with twins and I know they have concerns over whether she might have it too...good luck with your tests next week!!

Hope everyone is doing ok lots of love to you all! Xx

Hi!

I had sugar in my urine during my last pregnancy all the time... I went for two GTTs and was borderline for gestational diabetes.

Hope you start to feel better x

Back to work today after being on annual leave for the last two weeks... I'm 16w2d today, so have quite the bump going on!

my headache is calming down a little. Hope you get better soon.

it's the constipation thats still persistant for me.

Im going to review our company policies again in regards to antenatal appointments and perhaps its time to inform my employer that I am pregnant.

Employers must give pregnant employees time off for antenatal care and pay their normal rate for this time off. The father or pregnant woman’s partner has the right to unpaid time off work to go to 2 antenatal appointments.

I got this off the .gov site... I've not heard of having to wrk back time missed before and I'm pretty sure it goes against the above. I would deffo raise it with them or your HR department.

Just trying the headaches are a nightmare! Was it you that had a scan this weekend? If so how did everything go? (If not sorry I shall blame baby brain lol)

15 weeks along and feeling little movements! Can't wait for the full strength kicks!

it was me :D

she said baby looked healthy and he was curled up initially and then she started pressing into him so he moves. First he started stretching his arms and I saw cute little fingers and then he started stretching his legs and PING, his willy just fell forward. My o/h was the first to spot it was a boy way before the midwife who was still scanning.

such a cute moment

Weird dream of the entire pregnancy last night. I was on my way home from work and checked my bank to find 5 million in there which definitely wasn't mine. Called the bank and they didn't seem to care and wouldn't give me a straight answer.
After all the arguing I got home late to find I had missed the birth of my own child (cos totally possible haha) it was a boy and he was the size of a 2 year old. Nobody would tell me any of his birth details (weight/time etc) and just kept going on about how he wanted to be breast fed and wouldn't take a bottle.

Gotta live these weird pregnancy dreams.

So you are having a boy JustTrying? Shall I update first page?? Congrats.... brilliant news.

I've been having such vivid dreams. I can hear songs playing or actually read (had one dream that encompassed both ha ha) .... I've never had such clear dreams. No wonder I'm so tired though tee hee.

Just at my 16w appointment now. Running late of course. Hope my silly BP phobia doesn't affect my reading too much.

X

OH has finally acknowledged we need to move! :happydance: after my fit at him yesterday, we've spent today just sorting out the clutter, taking it to the charity shop and looking at skip hire for all the stuff that is completely useless we have hiding in our cellar and attic! I may get my dream nursery after all :D

Appointment was grand.

BP was fine and I got to hear HB as well. No mote appointments now until I'm 28w

Have a few scans (private on 27th Aug and NHS on 20th Sept) though and GTT, plus one consultant appointment due to having 5 miscarriages. I don't actually think I need the consultant appointment so may cancel?

We won't be able to move until after I go back from ML so 3 kids in a 2 bedroom for us. Thankfully it's a massive 2 bed.

I had my appointment today too carnat.

It was uneventful.

I feel absolutely dreadful today. I have one of those horrible headaches and my back is agony. I've come to bed feeling sorry for myself :(

That was fun. 3 hours waiting and turns out the appointment was sent in error. Back in 5 weeks

Hi and welcome!!

I have added you to the first page - we have the same EDD!

I meant to reply as I have had a GTT in a prior pregnancy and will in this one too.

The fasting isn't too much of an issue as the arrange the GTT's at my hospital for first thing so by 9.30am you are done!!

It's nothing to worry about so please don't be too concerned.
