****** February 2018 Mummy's thread. Hello tri 2 *****

Complete waste of time. She booked my 24 week appointment, filled in a form for my extra scans and gtt and ticked a box in my notes.

No heartbeat, no bloods. So I left my urine sample in her desk.

Well my shopping itch has been cured  spent just over £100 on my first day of double discount at work

I've bought myself a perfect prep machine just so I can witness it for myself how they work, nappies, wipes, blankets, vests, A play mat, bottles and a steriliser..i still have so much to get :D but feel like I've made a start..the more bulky things are living on top of our wardrobe for now until we get the space issue sorted :) but feel a little better knowing she had a few more bits!

20 week scan isn't until 9th October! Feels like ages away! :( feeling well and truly pregnant today ..OH's parting words were "you look really porky today"..well I certainly feel attractive now! Thank you darling

Is it bad I feel almost done.

I have 6 bottles, steriliser and tablets (cold water) 2 packs of newborn nappies, wipes, bepanthen, 7 vests 3 babygrows, 5 blankets. All the big stuff is coming via grandparents (pram, cot, basket)

all I need is a bath, milk and a couple of snowsuits.

Ts sorry your mw appointment was pointless!

I'm with you ladies literally have everything.. just need maternity bras. She's all set for newborn and 0-3 going to get a couple of 3-6 so that I have a headstart with those!

I have the cotbed up next to my bed (although the bedding is still in her drawers) pushchair is in the spare cupboard along with the other big bits! Glad I'm not the only one who couldn't help but go shopping lol my three little ones have birthdays in September November and January and with Christmas and my dads 50th in December my shopping wasn't just my excitement but an attempt to beat the madness that is coming up lol

TS sorry your appointment was a waste of time. I found both my last midwife and consultant appointments to also be pointless. At the consultant appointment he used a tiny doppler to find the heartbeats and was like "oh, i think that might be one". I could have honestly snatched it out of his hands and done it myself. He also didn't tell me anything i did not already know.

On a more impulsive note, i also did some shopping :D Bought 2 cots, and also a steriliser from Asda, a bargain for £10!.

I've got my 18wk scan tomorrow. FX i'll find out if I'm team pink or blue x

Oooh exciting Mrs Law! Keep us posted!

Honestly the funniest part was when she asked if I want to be booked into birthing classes. I'm having a csection due to severe anxiety disorder. I don't think I need a 6 week course on how to manage contractions lol

Good luck with your scans Mrs Law and CarNat! Xx

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR APPOINTMENTS TODAY!! Selphie, Carnat and Mrs Law

Will be looking forward to hearing how you all get on xxx :-)

Hi Ladies,

I had my 20 week scan on Monday and little one was fast asleep. He always seems to sleeping which is surprising because both of his parents are very active people!

Everything is healthy but baby is measuring on the bigger side which means either I have diabetes or he is naturally big baby. I have a feeling he is going to be over 10lb. So scary lol

I wont be buying anymore newborn clothing. 0-3 from now onwards.

thats quite the bargain!

Ive already got a cot, moses basket, bouncer, baby carrier, car seat and some clothing.

Cant decide on pram because I need one that folds down to nothing as O/H has a tiny boot space.

Hi ladies, I'm back from my midwife appointment, it went well. She's so lovely! She loved DD as she's very confident and talks loads about her learning (we home educate) so the midwife got her to help check blood pressure and check for baby's heart beat. Was lovely, she didn't say how fast it was but sounded like a Choo Choo train

Just trying glad baby is all healthy, willy check for diabetes? My friend had big babies, 10lb and 11lb !! Pushed them both out too.

Did they give you a weight JustTrying? Also did they offer you a GTT?

Mine is 13oz (I am sure TORino said she has a 13oz and I know she is concerned about big baby / had a big baby last time).... Would be interesting to know if 13oz is big for 21w lol..

Had to see 2 sonographers today as baby wasn't playing ball. No more scans either as my hospital has stopped the routine growth scan [had it with both my others but they don't offer it anymore]

Had a bit of a horrible experience today. Heavily pregnant woman collapsed in the waiting room (in the antenatal part of hospital - where you wait for scans / appointments / blood tests). She had her partner and her toddler with her. The toddler was inconsolable. There were about 15 MW in the scene within a minute and I think she had just fainted? They screened her off but I could hear her talking and her stats were ok.

Do you know the worst thing? This woman was standing prior to collapsing and at least 3 men were sat down with their partners. I was livid and made sure I complained to a MW at the time and to reception after. I had to wait for a seat when I got there today. How can people be so thick??? In an antenatal waiting room MEN DON'T GET SEATS BEFORE PREGNANT WOMEN (the one who collapsed was very obviously pregnant, me not so much but why else would I be in an antenatal waiting room???). It really tainted my day actually.

Poor woman, I know she was in the best place but how awful for her!

Whoop! TEAM PINK!! :pink::pink: :D :D More girlies for the group!

Scan was lovely, midwife was so chatty and informative. Got to see the twins wriggling about :)
Hubby is still recovering from his mini heart attack as he was expecting boys, poor guy lol.
Twins are weighing in at 8oz and 7oz.

Glad your appointments went well Selphie, Carnat and Justtrying!
Carnat that must have been scary to watch, glad the woman seemed well. I would be quite livid too that the men were sitting down!

Awww so lovely MrsLaw! Congratulations on team pink!!! Glad your appointment went well!

Carnat..selphie and just trying glad all went well! JustTrying are they giving you the gtt?? Carnat glad the lady seemed well! Quite shocked and appalled that men were sitting while pregnant ladies were standing!

Awww lovely MrsLaw. I'll add some more pink storks to the front page

So glad all went well with the scans and appointments guys!!! Great news xxx carnat that must have been such a worrry seeing that lady.. glad all was well in the end xxx

Nice to hear good news on the scans. And a big baby for you too carnat? Lol. I'm sure I read somewhere at 20 weeks they should be 10.5oz.

I hate the antenatal waiting area. Every time I go it's like something off Jeremy Kyle. People smacking each other and swearing last week!!

12.7oz is the average for 21w. So baby just above that?

10.6oz is the average for 20w.

I had my scan at 20w 6d? I'm booked in for GTT at 27w anyway.
