***December babies! Tri 2 :) ***

Hey, I'm okay thanks. Having lots more good days than bad thankfully but still not got a great appetite and puking most days. But overall better! Can't believe I'm nearly 20 weeks, got my scan on Thursday morning. I'm night shift the night before so I finish work just after 8 and my scans at 9.30 in the same hospital so there's no point in me leaving and going home. I'm going to be knackered but I'm sure seeing my baby will perk me up :)

How are you hun? And everyone else? Xx

My scans next Thursday too at 9:30!!! Still not decided what to do with baby #1 as childminder is on holiday so I might just go in on my own and Hubs can sit outside with him. They'd let him come in if there was a problem wouldn't they? Can't believe you're still being sick, are you on anti sickness tabs? Touch wood I've been ok for a while but I have a stash of tablets just in case!

I'm ok thanks, fell down the stairs yesterday so I'm a battered and bruised but I'm alright. Got a week off next week with the baby who turns 1 this month so that will be nice, hope the weather is good.

Crikey Mumbear are you okay after your fall?

Hope your scans go well on a Thursday morning Mumbear and MrsS15. My scan was cancelled for tomorrow as the sonographer broke her ankle! Got to go Saturday morning instead now grrr, I was gearing myself up to tomorrow as I'm desperate to know everything is okay!

It's a very quiet group in here x

That must have given you quite a scare mum bear! I fell the other day too but just landed on my leg and wrists, my balance is totally off now with the bump! Had my scan yesterday and everything looked fine - what a relief! Baby was a little too cooperative though, it was all over in 15 minutes, could have watched him/her for hours. I'm still being sick every day or 2 but think it's now due to acid reflux. I didn't suspect that before as I luckily amnt suffering from heartburn yet but have constant bloating, often feel like I've over eaten time and I've got a horrible sweet taste in my mouth almost all day which I think is acid. Popping lots of rennies now and sometimes they seem to work so I'll just carry on! Feel like time is ticking away now so definitely need to start getting organised!

Good luck to those still waiting for your scans and I hope you are all doing well

I didn't realise you'd had a fall Nicki I hope you're okay?? Good luck to everyone having their scans this week.. I have mine in the morning and nervous but excited! Hoping to find out she's doing well size wise and also get confirmation of gender. BabyPickle.. join us on the FB group?? Xxx

I've just returned from a short break in London- Athletics, zoo, London Eye and a bit of shopping in Hamleys. I can safely say I am shattered. My back and my hips are done in! Got my scan on Friday. :) I was a bit excited to see a November Tri 3 thread. That means we're next!! Hope everyone is well. x

It's quiet on here, but our little FB group is getting larger. :) For anyone not on the group, I had my anomaly scan at 21+5 and everything looks good. The sonographer has said 99% sure it's a boy. Good to have that confirmation! Thankfully after our last scan with that horrible man, we got a lovely lady this time. She managed to get two shots of baby with his hand up and it looked like a little wave. She kept flicking between the two images for our daughter so that her brother was waving at her and she even printed out a little photo of it for her. Really makes all the difference having a sonographer that puts in that little bit of effort.

Saw the doctor after and she asked me about birth options. I'd been given a run down of vbac and elective section at my last appt. I told her we'd chosen elective section and was expecting more persuasion otherwise as I know some hospitals try to push vbac. Also a colleague who was under the same consultant said she really had to push for a section, but she just said 'ok, I'll get that booked' and so we now know that our little boy will arrive on 12th December! Was really surprised to have the date this early. 4 months today. Eek!

Also had a good laugh that One Born Every Minute is filming in my hospital from mid Sept-mid Dec and they're looking for mums to film! Don't fancy that, plus I'm pretty sure an elective section isn't the tv drama they'd like.

Hi everyone, I'm new to this thread but our baby is due on 19th December and we have had our 20 week scan and need to return on Friday because she was wriggling too much for them to get what they needed lol. If there is a facebook group I would like to join please? :)

Glad your scan went well Anicca!

I guess I should just join the FB group too then, I spend enough time on it haha!

Has anyone got / had SPD before? Sadly I think I have the starts of it x

Not been on here for a while, but would love to join the facebook group to stay in the loop more - how do I join? :)

Its my first baby too so also have the 25 week appointment. They measure your bump, check your bp and urine sample and they also give you the paperwork for you to go on maternity leave.

I spoke to someone from work today and i might be going on maternity leave from 25 weeks, because i have been on sick leave since april due to HG. I dont think i will get much maternity leave as they will calculate it from all the times i have had ssp which has been like £200 a month. I was crying today thinking about how will i be able to afford everything for the baby and just feeling like a failure for not being prepared, but how was i to know i would be so sick. My partner has also had since june off to look after me, but i am starting to be able to get out of bed and get myself a drink etc so he will be able to go back to work soon.

Im just trusting God that He has a plan and it will all work out. I hope everyone is doing well, its been vey quiet here recently. Xox

Hello ladies :-)

When do we officially enter tri 3? My due date is 2nd December so I'm 26 weeks on Saturday.

I had my 25 week appointment this week. They took my BP, did a urine test, listened to heart beat and measured bump. They also advised me to book whooping cough vaccine with the doctor!

Does anybody know about the gestational diabetes test? Do we have to book that if we want it too?

I'm so sorry to hear that skyway . You can't prepare for being unwell and the most important thing is to look after you and baby, which it sounds like you're doing x

I've just had my 25 week appt at 23+3 booked in early to avoid work clashes. My midwife doesn't start measuring bump till 28 weeks, so it was just BP, urine and heartbeat for me. Also got advised to book whooping cough jab and told to go to hospital at 28 weeks for my bloods. They seem to just operate a 'take a ticket' and wait. I already have the forms for the bloods.

Sorry to hear you've not been well at all Skyeway. Hopefully you're coming out the other side now. It's hard having to deal with the actual physical effects of being ill and then worrying about finances really doesn't help things. Maybe have a think about what you need to buy and make a budget. I was a bit worried about buying all the things we needed and managing maternity leave as the SMP is such a massive drop in pay, so I worked out all my outgoings and what we needed. Have a look in the sales and baby events. So far, we've got quite a few clothes (all in the sale), bouncy chair and playmat which we got on offer and just ordered our pram today. We knew we wanted the Cosatto Giggle 2 with car seat and had budgeted £600. It went into the Mothercare event today for £375 so a massive saving.

A friend of mine who is due the day after me found a bargain changer unit on eBay, second hand and in brilliant condition. It's cost her £10!

I think tri 3 is officially staring at 27 weeks in this forum. It can change depending on where you're looking. I think some places say it starts 28/29 weeks. x
