While we are all WTT, I just wondered what contraception we're all using.

As we all know, different types of contraception can make a big difference to how easy it will be to get pregnant right away when you move to TTC.

So, what are you using, and how long will it take you to get it out of your system when you TTC?

I'm using a "mini-pill" called Micronor.

It's a POP (Progesterone-Only Pill), and it needs to be taken every day, back-to-back with no breaks, not even when AF is here.

That, however is a good thing, as it means all the hormones from the mini pill are completely gone from your body within 48hrs of stopping them - so you can start TTC right away!

I am using the FAM method. after I gave birth to my son I started taking the combination pill 3 months after that (microgynon 20) and did that for 3 cycles, it made me so extremely depressed that I didn't even see the use of living. (and normally I am never depressed). so I quit and now husband and I are back on FAM.

Before my son was born I had a IUL (mirena) which also didn't feel right, I react very heavily to hormones so I am not going to take them ever again!

I am too on a POP, cerazette.. Taken everyday with no breaks, get the implant in on the 7th May, which will last for 3 years.. Not planning on having anymore babies for another few years x

i was on Implanon implant - most women are fertile after 7 days of having it removed, and will start their periods again within a month.

had mine out 14 days ago today - so expecting to have my period again shortly

I have stopped the pill and am opting for condoms until TCCing (can't wait LOL) - was on Cliest which is a combined pill - waiting on AF now - hope that my cycles get into a routine soon

We've been using the not so reliable 'porn style' method. But then we are waiting for my AF to turn up after my miscarriage before trying again. I wouldn't mind too much if my OH got carried away and I got pregnant faster though...hence the dodgy contraception route! Plus he hates condoms (welly boots) after 3 years of ditching them.

Before we were trying the first time I was on Micronor too. I stopped taking it and 15 days later I was pregnant.

I'm on Trinovum, combined pill, at the mo. It's the fourth bcp i've been on in the last couple of years! hoping things will return to normal fairly soon after i come off but i'm not holding my breath!

Dianette, which is a combined pill that also helps spots!

Learnt that it can be a bugger to conceieve after taking it and that it can cause liver problems.

Think the pill is linked to the anxiety attacks/ migranes that I have been getting for the past 2 years! Hopefully coming o it at the end of Mys we regulate my hormones and chill me out... Plus it will hopefully lead to me being a pregnant lady!

Not sure if I will go back on the pill though...

I wouldn't say never.. But at the moment I'm going to see if the implant agrees with me.. If not I will look into alternative methods

I was using a diaphragm. Not quite as easy as I'd hoped, now we have several thousand miles between us which is fairly good for not getting preganant lol. I have been on several pills over the years, the most recent one being Yasmin. I stopped taking this in Mid January and still AF is a no-show. It's starting to do my head in and am a bit worried that things are not back to normal yet.

you can use a condom these days so you don't have to abstain it is only 10 days in total (of a 28-30 day cycle), so for 2/3 of your cycle you can have save unprotected sex
