Christmas 2013 Thread!

I'm doing mine in one. I know what I want and where I am getting it from. Not had time since work and working with computers all day I can't bear to shop online ATM.

Eeeep, tra-lalala lala-lalaaaaa lolol xxx

Pressies all wrapped and I bought our tree today.

I read the bloody measurements wrong so we now have a gigantic tree. I read in cm's and it's inches :wall2: :wall2: :wall2:

Will store this tree at my Mum's - someone will use it one day. Will pick up a smaller tree next week.

Got all my cards ready to write and we are off to a local Crimbo Fayre tomorrow.

Have seen Baileys on special offer in Tesco but they'd sold out. It's a good deal so I am off to hunt round all the local Tesco's next week :oooo:

Oh yes let's see some pictures of your decorated houses please. We are getting all our decorations Wednesday as this is our first Christmas in a house together that's our own so need some nice decorations. So exciting. What are everyone's plans for Xmas eve? As it always drags on!! Xx

Xmas Eve I rush around in the daytime, seeing family I wont see on the day. Luckily most immediate family are within a 20 minute walk. Also it's a friends LO's Birthday so I pop in to them.

I am home by the time it gets dark, have a bath and stick my Crimbo PJ's on (James too, OH has refused novelty PJ's - kill joy).. Steak baguettes for dinner then we crack open the Baileys after James has gone to bed and listen to all the Crimbo songs or watch a film.

We'll let James open a few bits... he has a few Christmas books and his PJ's...

Love Crimbo Eve almost as much as they day itself.

xxxxxx

I love Christmas Eve too :) This year Joshie and I will be having a nice relaxed morning at home, waiting for daddy to finish work early...then we will open up his Christmas Eve box, get into Christmas pj's and watch a festive film. When LO goes to bed, the baileys gets opened and I will make us Christmas Linguine for dinner...and we will snuggle up under a big blanket having some quiet quality time before it all goes bonkers the following day!! xxx

We have a couple of Christmas Eve 'traditions'. Most years since my friends and I disappeared off in different directions we've tried to get together for lunch on Christmas Eve as most people still come back to stay with their parents over Christmas (and we've now moved back to the area permanently). It's turned into brunch these days as people often have things to do in the afternoon, so we go to a local cafe (we graduated last year from the local 'spoons as one of my friends decided we should go somewhere with more 'class' ). OH can't come this year as he'll be at work, but me and A will go.

Then early evening me, OH, A, my parents and my sister will go and visit some family friends who live on the other side of town. We alternate between their house and ours, and despite saying that we'll make the effort to see each other during the rest of the year we never seem to manage it!

After A has gone to bed I imagine it'll be like a normal evening - it's the first Christmas Eve ever that I've not been at my parents' house, so I think it's going to feel a bit odd and anti-climatic because my Mum won't be there to tell me to go to bed so that Father Christmas can bring my stocking :oooo:

Xmas Eve I have activity packs ready for Ava and my niece and nephew as sister is in work my nephew is 2minths older than Ava but they nap pretty much the sane time so when they're both asleep me as my niece will make santa cookies and have some us time then when they wake we will decorate santas plate and after they've gone home I will be bathing Ava while oh is having a drink after work(every year) and time it so that he will be getting home as I'm getting Ava out of the bath when she will open her xmas Eve box and can put on her new pjs oh has a pair too but he dosnt know yet :) and we will put on the Xmas film and have some nibbles his mam is coming over as they have a present Ava has to have apparently and then we will be ready for bed time xmas book and cuddles then me and oh will open a bottle of champaign and play santa with a film to finish off our evening x

Looking great, Ashley! I have a question for everyone...
How do you hang your decorations/lights indoors? I always use sellotape but I think it looks awful. Would love some tips!
I'm off to buy my tree this week when OH isn't using the car.

I use clear tape on the ends and white tack for the rest x

I'm starting to feel a bit antsy thinking about all the things to do and get! I'm struggling to find a christmas box to put all jacks Christmas Eve things in too! I'd love to go out and do it all in one day but its better I spread it out so I don't get spenders guilt. Tree is going up next weekend! :) think jack will mind that its pink? Xxx
