Bleeding-help please?

I've been bleeding for about 5 weeks now,it hasn't stopped at all,but over the last 2 days I've been getting cramps and then i started bleeding heavier-it's bright red again.I am also getting clots about the size of a ten p piece,which are red with yellowy brown bits (yum).
Phoned the Day Procedure at the hospital.Woman on the phone said it's a period.I'm breastfeeding.Any ideas before I book an appt with my GP?

It is not impossible that it is a period but it is certainly unlikely, I didn't get a period until Ellie was 9months and she had dropped down to 3 breast feeds in 24hrs. Sorry no ideas, I think making an appointment to see the GP is a good idea. Can you see a HV sooner (at the drop in clinics)? If so you can get LO weighed and ask the HV as well.

sounds like you have retained products, highly doubt it is a period. Is your loss smelly? I would get yourself to the gp, hope you feel better

It's not smelly at all.I think you're all right,I better go see my GP
