Birth recovery

I had a c section so it was painful :/ plus Owen was in scbu for a
Week ! Once we were home
Prob a few days! On a confidence level First time mum
And nerves and all that always checked I was doing right thing lol but on a well being level a good few weeks before
I felt myself again x

Mum of Owen. Born 11/7/11 @ 19.17pm weighing 7lb 12 oz :)

I was absolutely fine with mine. Just a bit sore, tired and emotional. Mine were both long back labours born sunny side up and I was VERY lucky to escape childbirth with just a couple of teeny grazes. I do think that has a huge impact on things, for the first day or two I fed baby, ate and slept, then after I'd caught up a little on sleep the bits like washing, hoovering, tidying up etc, came back in,

On the midwives this week one midwife said how some worry and have a harder time and others just get on with it - I'm the latter lol. I so hope it's another easy recovery this time - got a school run and nursery to do now eeeek! Xxx

i feel like a right wimp lol xxx

Ooh please don't feel like a wimp! I'd also not be able to do much if I'd been sliced in my lady bits! I mean OUCHIE!! The thought of it makes me wince so bad lol xxx

I had to start doing things again as soon as I was back from hospital. OH was about & was a good help but he had to look after eldest LO - hense I had to do everything for new baby...bottles, baths, clothes, nappies, bottles, ect all from day 1.

With regards to pain, that went on for around 8/9 weeks, but still....us woman need to go on dont we. I had to just hobble about in pain doing what needed done. Its not too bad if its your first baby & your OH can devote purely to you & baby but when its your 2nd/3rd, those kids need looked after too.

i had an episiotomy and practically 24 hr back to back labour and the next morning (bout 4 hrs later) i felt like id been hit by a truck, was hard to take a deep breath and move lol but i felt pretty much fine the next day and was ok when hosp finally let me go at +3 days post birth. OH had 2 weeks off but did a voluntary shift when baby was 6 days old and it was all good, we went shopping on the way home from hosp but it was about a week or 2 before i felt energetic enough to go out with baby by myself as i was knackered all the time from bf and i was on antibiotics and iron pills from blood loss at labour and a lil infection.

I was lucky and had an 'easy' time so straight away really. Only thing I found was good to have help was with housework and cooking as I Sat bf 24/7 for weeks so the dust did settle a bit!

First couple of days I needed help showering, I was in hospital for 5 days because she was in scbu so didn't have to worry about the house or anything. After that my iron levels went through the floor so struggled being on my feet for too long but next time I'll be more prepared with my iron levels, they didn't check them until they were ready to discharge me

Took me only a couple of days to feel normal (bar tired due to night feeds etc) but I had a totally straightforward delivery with no stitches etc. L/o was in an incubator for 5 days though so I guess I had that time in hospital to rest and be looked after. As soon as we were home from hospital I was able to care for him and myself no problem :)

My first time it took maybe six weeks as I had to have an episiotomy and forceps but lots of tea tree oil baths and taking arnica helped . My second one I was a bit bruised and tender but was running around after my toddler by two days

I had an episiotomy so probably around 4 weeks. I also lost faor amount of blood so.was on tablets and feeling weak and faint in the beginning.

Girls when you say 4 and 6 weeks was that for you to feel completely ok or you needed help with the baby and do simple things at the house?

For me it was just to feel less sore and tired . My oh was back to work in a week both times but as I had stitches I jut isn't do much heavy lifting

My OH went back to work exactly one week after she was born. I wanted him to have longer off but he couldn't realistically.

I managed.

She was born on the Sunday and we went out shopping to the local retail park on the Thursday so I was able to get out and about then, though I did take it easy.

I did get an infected gooch though which set me back a bit but they gave me plenty of painkillers.

I hope I have a smooth labour and recovery! I'm scared about being on my own without OH there to help x

I was scared of that too. DH had 2wks off and went back to work today, and I've been dreading today tbh! But we've been good. Don't worry abt being on ur own, its not as daunting as it seems x

I think there will deffinately be a few tears when OH goes back to work! My neice is at that age and is such a handful! And she has MASSIVE diva tantrums! she bangs her head on the floor/ door/ anything really she gets so angry! And she's a proper fussy eater! I so hope our LO doesn't end up like her cousin! I hope that doesn't sound harsh lol?! I hope she's not so much of a handful lol!! xxx
