Bad news at the docs!!

what a w**ker.......i agree with the others...see if you can get a second opinion....xx

I'm so sorry to hear that! But look at wishuponastar! She made it!

So there's definantly hope for you as well! I have my fingers crossed for you Vicky!

Big hug!

Defo get a second opinion. I first went to docs about my issues in July. It took a while to get a specialist appointment which was on 9 November, that's when they diagnosed PCOS on both sides and a tumour on my left. By 13th dec I'd had my operation (both ovaries drilled and tumour taken away) so they can move quickly if they want. Don't give up Hun xx

You can take metformin which is a diabetic medication but is also used in pcos!!
See another dr definitely!

Your doctor sounds like a clown... change doctors asap. But remember... stay calm and relaxed, beause its still possible to have a baby, it might take longer but its still possible. It happens every day.

Doctors, as much as they despise to be told, aren't God, and don't know everything!!

Good Luck Hunni xxx

Sorry to hear your news Vicky. I agree with everyone on here - speak to another doctor and exaggerate how long you have been trying.

Who does he think he is? Sounds like a bit of power has one to his head and he wants to play God. Numbnut!

By the way - well done Nurse 26 - like you say hopefully the doctor you saw will think before he opens his cakehole next time! I honestly dont know why some of these people are in the profession!

i went to see a doctor for suspected endo (as its in the family) and she turned round to me in a horrible way and said that the only reason my periods were so painful (id vomit from them and couldnt move o painful) was that i had pcos and that i needed to get bloods taken to check. she said i had never released an egg hence the pain. Also said if i wasnted children id prob have to have medical help eventually. nontheless me and oh became really lacksidaisical about contraception and i was pg the month after!! So albeit it feels like shiiite to hear the news you did its not impossible for you to become pg!!! and you never know may be next month or two years time! just enjoy trying :p xx

Sorry to hear your dr was such a knob. I know they see these things everyday but they should still have some kind of sensitivity. You must feel really down but as the other ladies said, go and see another dr.
Take care xx

Hey Hun,

Really sorry to hear your news. :(

Can't believe what a joke the docs were, I would go back without a doubt!

What's the point in trying if it's not likely you're ovulating!??

Definitely get a second opinion, there is no reason not to treat you!?

Did Hubby have the semen analysis? If so and his result was below average you are even more likely to be given treatment.

Try not to worry though Hun as as soon as you get past the obstacle of the shitty NHS you can be treated quite simply.

xx

My doctor already thinks we have been trying for 16 months, I could understand them saying to wait if we hadnt been trying for so long and were a young couple in their twenties, but I am 30 this year and hubby will be 35 next year!!

Maybe - We have done the semen sample was told it will take 10 days for the results. Am having 21 bloods done this Thusrday so will go and get results for both hopefully next week.

Like you I dont understand the point in waiting if I am not ovulating!

Ahh Yeah I remember now Hun, well best of luck for your's and Hubby's tests, I guess once you've had all the diagnostics you may be able to get the Doctor to look at your case differently and get some treatment.

Hope it comes round quickly for you.

xx

That is what I am hoping for, I am pretty sure my 21 bloods are going to show I am not ovulating so I will argue my case of why wait if nothing is happening!! Just gotta hope that I had an arse doctor that day and someone else will be a bit more helpful!!

Hi Vicky,

I have just read your post and it has made me join!! I was diagnosed with PCOS last month too and my GP has put me onto metformin. There is definitely things that can be done so I'd get a second opinion. As for the doctor telling you that it is god's will - I agree with Nurse, you should complain about that and definitely change doctor. I'm hoping metformin will get me ovulating soon.

Wishing you luck hun.

I was diagnosed with PCOS at the start of Feb last year - my right is full of cysts but my left is clear. Before this I was having 21 bloods done every 2/3 wks between periods as I could go up to 5 months without a period & was told we would need to have help to conceive. At the start of March, 3 wks after being diagnosed, I was pregnant - with no help & no medication, dont give up Hunni xx

Baby4mand its nice that us ttc ladies can relate to each others struggles, it makes our journeys seem that little bit less scary knowing there are others going through the same. Wishing you lots of luck. P1nk your story helps restore some positivity in me x x

Big hugs Hun. About eight years ago the doctor thought I had pcos but in fact it turned out that I have endometriosis and I now have two sons who to me are little miracles.
Never give up trying Hun and don't let the doctors fob you off, fight them all the way because that's sometimes the only thing they will take notice of xx
