I find myself browsing online constantly. Is anyone else addicted to buying baby clothes?

Last night I went upstairs to babies room to be and decided to sort the huge pile into sizes, so I can limit myself in purchasing things in the sizes I have most things of!

I realised most of the clothes are 0-3 months with very little newborn. Now my Mother, she is one of these "do this" "do that" types, and advised me not to bother with newborn clothes because they are only in them for such a short time and I could very well have a big baby and they wouldn't fit etc. I just nod and smile but keep my niggling opposite opinions to myself, however hard it is! But my point is this...I could very well have a small baby, or an average baby so I'd much rather be prepared and have the newborn outfits ready just incase.

Is anyone else in this predicament? Any advise would be greatly appreciated :)

Hugs x x x

I got 2 tiny baby babygros (just incase, only cheap ones), about 4-5 newborns babygros and vests, and then 0-3 and on up.. When baby is born people tend to buy newborn! Babies do go through a lot because of dribbling and milk etc.. If you think your buying addiction is bad now wait until baby arrives  xx

I haven't got much newborn, got loads of 0-3 but very little newborn as DD was 6lb 7oz born but was long so she wasn't in newborn very long!

I'm seriously addicted, he needs nothing yet I can't stop! x

I used to be safe with clothes, but then my mind wandered elsewhere and OH keeps coming home to a huge collection of Fisher Price Rainforest stuff :s (he loves it really:rofl:)

I am being really good this time, I am only buying it if I really need it, I do have more newborn than 0-3, (have 7 in newborn and 5 in 0-3 babygrow, but 3 are just value white ones). I will take a bigger baby grow to hosp too, just incase in - and leave a few more at home for OH to collect if needs be I have a bigger baby this time. Then and see what gifts I get as most should be 0-3 or 3-6 from sensible family.

When buying for others that have just had a baby- I always like to steer clear of clothes as baby gifts myself, and like to get baby feeding /weening stuff in pink or blue, as no one gets that, makes such a nice change , and not long before you use it.

JJ Thanks for that idea, my friend is due soon and im not good at these things!

i have got quite a lot of newborn stufs, mostly up to 11lb (which to me is not newborn cos i was 4lb 5oz and was full term!!) but my friends just had a little boy and he was 11lb by the time he was 6wks old!!

i think i will be taking her/ him to see a lot of my family when very little so will use the newborn clothes anyway, n if not, im a ebay freak and will just bundle them all on there, lol

i think i have got enough babygrows and things until 3-6, and gona ask people if they do buy stuff for us, to get smellies or nappies or things like that, that will last for a while and are useful when on maternity pay!!

xxx

I've set up a credit union account for £80 per month and I'm not even pg yet!! So I figure, by the time I actually get round to getting pg then getting to the end of pg, I'll have a nice tidy sum to go mental and spend, spend, spend with

Allll my friends have babies, with some I've bought clothes for them, but others I've bought practical stuff for, like baby oil, baby lotion, wipes, talc etc and made up a hamper for them x

OH bought a sleepsuit and a vest in tiny, we got a few bits in new born maybe about 5 things of each, and absolutly loads in 0-3 month.

well as we don't know what baby is i've kindof limited as to what we can buy...i seem to have loads of sleepsuits that are 0-3m but only about 10 newborn and about 5 outfits between newborn- 0-3m!!!

god i am so addicted too. i have bought EVERYTHING we need now, down to bottle and teat brushes, 2 dummies, bath thermometer, you name it i have it!! lol and i havent spent more than £200 so far!that includes cot and matress :D ebay is great. lol clothing wise, ive really had to hold back, but loads of people have given me stuff! i have enough vests to last til 6-9 months! madness, i dont actually have hardly any baby grows, just vests and more vests lol. and blankets, way too many of these! its good to have a good supply i think. but yes, i can hold my hands up and say im addicted, well and truly x

I havent got much yet, but cant wait to go completely mental. I have been looking which is fab, I just love the cuteness of baby stuff.

i have a thing for blankets myself i have about 10 different neutral ones so far!!

lol yea think i have about 10 blankets now!! haha!! i have just stopped myself buying loads of clothes in asda. they are so cute and fleecy!! x

I have nothing yet, well one towl that my friend gave me. I can't wait till i can start buying all the things i need :) x

I have got everything apart from formula, a crib mobile, we need a few more pairs of socks and we really want some baby shoes, then its just playmat and bouncer which my MIL is giving us the money for so thats all we are waiting on.

Im really glad im sorted to be honest because it is a lot less stressful knowing we wont be skint near XMAS time and i can just relax for the last couple of weeks now without worrying about still having stuff to get, we started our baby shopping on the day of our 20 week scan as soon as we found out the sex and have spread everything out over the last 10 weeks :) xx
