***August 2019 Mummies***

Aww lovely, another baby boy on the thread. August must be the month of boys! x

Yay for all the boys!

Two questions for you, ladies.

1. Does anyone else have sore feet? The soles of my feet get really tired and sore very quickly nowadays. It must be the ligaments getting loose, but I find it odd that I have it in my soles, but nowhere else.

2. I feel like my baby kicks and moves mostly when I either lay on my back or bend forward while sitting. This to me feels like the kicks are a sign of the baby being squashed? Have you noted the same?

When I started feeling my baby it was like that. Now it’s just all the time in any position!

I only really feel movement when lying down, nothing strong or consistent though yet. Had my 20 week scan on 10 April and he was non stop moving about, so defo made me feel more at ease with not feeling him move much. X

So husband finally felt the kicking and once or twice I've been able to see my belly move when kicked. Generally still having one day super tired to two or so normal days, and trying to eat not too much or too little.

How is everyone on cravings? I haven't had many other than milk is always good when usually I don't care for it too much, but this week I made my husband wake up from a late nap so we could go to a gas station that makes a specific type of nachos he and I used to eat when we were dating, I had horrible gas and general stomach upset before we went and after nachos with two types of cheese, olives and jalapeno peppers I somehow felt completely better. >_>;

Also I'm not buying fancy pregnant clothes as I'm frugal as heck. There are a few second hand stores around and I got some basically brand new maternity pants and shirts that I love, probably spent $25-$30 on 4 different outfits.

I bought the basics to get me through.. so just a pair of maternity leggings and a pair of maternity Jean's. I have been very grateful for them so far as I suddenly became unable to wear loads of things.

Cant stand PJs now either. None seems to fit and just seem to irritate me. So letting it all be loose in some nice t shirt style nighties now lol.

Tights are proving the bane of my life...tried another maternity one and they just dont work for me. Comfy sat down but working in retail I'm 50/50 on my feet and then just slip and annoy me. So I think im gonna bust out the fake tan and get my legs out soon. Surely that has to be more comfortable?!!

Hope everyone is doing ok. I'm getting regular movements now. I'm 25 weeks today. Still mainly at morning and night but getting kicks through the day too x

I've noticed a new symptom in the the last two days - swollen ankles. That pleasure starts, then. Anyone else got that?

I'm 24 weeks tomorrow, and have my 25 week midwife appointment tomorrow as well, so will ask if I should keep an eye on the swelling. Thinking about pre-eklampsia, of which it can be a sign. But so far blood pressure has been low and no other worrying symptoms.

@Elize - my main craving is NY cheesecake... could eat it all day every day. I did like it before pregnancy as well, but now it is just crazy. Otherwise, strawberries seem to be going down well too.

Weather wont be helping I would think @Starrynight I have had odd days where I have puffed a little but nothing major yet. I'm quite lucky with my job cos I'm a senior manager in retail I can alternate between sitting and walking which I think helps. Sitting down with legs at right ankles makes me go puffy....the couple times I've had it where from nights out for dinner with friends where we sat like that for hours in the pub and restaurant x

Swollen ankles are common symptom in pregnancy :) I would worry too much about pre eclampsia unless the swelling really didn’t go down after a night sleep with your feet up :)
Mine haven’t been swelling over the weekend yet but I bet it will happen over the summer !
Only cravings I have are for super fresh raw foods like salads with crunchy peppers tomatoes etc!
And flap jack cookies from M&S over the weekend... oops!

This Easter weekend has been a killer food wise! Visited the in laws and I have been fed for two which I hate. I felt so unwell with my tulle feeling sooo tight and tense. Ligaments pulling all over rib pain etc juste from being overfilled with unhealthy food !
My in laws are lovely people but there isn’t any healthy meals on the menu unfortunately!
I have never been so glad coming back home and eat fruits and vegetables as I had close to none over the last four days!

My only new thing on the aches and pains bits is a sore right boob! The left one is behaving fine but the right one is killing me!

Easter was lots of fun!
Got to see most of the family at church (I'm not there all the time and neither are they so that was nice), then spent all afternoon with my nieces and mother in law (I'm am so very blessed in the MIL dept). We all took a walk, I had to protect the youngest from the Geese (she's scared of them, they didn't even bother her- so cute!) and my husband and I made deviled eggs the normal way but also made quail eggs that way which were tiny and fun. Plus as I'm preggers I totally got to just take a nap in the middle of everything. What a fun day. Back to reality this week though, lots of work and I've been oversleeping again, it's better when I can wake up to an alarm and take a nap later if I need it instead, doesn't ruin the next night.

@Nikkibiscuit I've had tingly fingertips on and off for about two weeks now. Mostly when I'm trying to sleep- it comes from sleeping on my side if too much weight is on my shoulder instead of supported by an array of pillows, that and I've definitely had days of swelling and days of less swelling.
It's odd how having something salty and drinking a lot of water helps it go away- but when my hands have been tingly while I'm driving (I drive a lot as I'm in Real Estate) I have to switch back and forth between hands and that worries me a bit.

@Anna@work I'm sorry you had to eat that way! It's such a delicate balance isn't it, between eating the right things and not eating too much of anything? When I discovered I didn't have to actually eat anything more than usual unless I was hungry it was a defining moment- the few times I overate I had a very rough night/ morning. Ache-y boobs I handle with iodine drops in my water, usually kills the ache in less than ten minutes, and the baby needs iodine to grow anyways as well as fatty tissue needs it (and the thyroid). Today was an example of that when I sat up in bed it was the worst thing ever from boobs finding gravity Dx

Ugh I really do hate consultations sometimes.

So my IBD consultant who confirmed my diagnosis (one for my ulcerative colitis) was just like yeah no need for medication right now due to pregnancy we will see you in September to start medication. And that’s it. Nothing else.

Had my midwife today who I then told about the diagnosis and was then advised by her and by her calling the hospital that he should have really communicated the diagnosis with them as I’m more than likely going to need additional antenatal and scan appointments to check the baby’s weight and growth until my due date as it could have an affect on this... so now I’ve got to go back to the hospital in a couple weeks to work out a plan in regards to what needs to be done up until my due date.

I’ve got my appointment for the 10th to see a consultant and go from there. She had said no to worry it’s more pre-caution if they do decide to go ahead with additional scans.

I’m just more annoyed that the IBD specialist didn’t even mention anything.

But otherwise today’s appointment went well and little mans heart beat is all good.

Brought so much stuff already.
A tone of 0-3 months clothes, hats, socks, shoes, mits, got my Moses basket, travel system, play gym, baby swing, baby bouncer, a blow up sit me up cosy, size 1 nappies, wipes, Moses basket sheets, pram toys.

Next on the list it cot, steriliser, bottles, perfect prep machine - want to get them just in case but I do plan on breast feeding if I can.

That's an upside for you, getting extra scans, always great to get to see baby on screen. I'm tempted to book another private scan for a bit nearer the time as I'm not due anymore scans now.

I've bought most of his stuff already! I got the day and night perfect prep machine after reading great reviews on it. Only need car seat, play mat, cot mattress (already have a crib and moses basket for his first few months so this isn't needed for a while yet) and just the normal bits you get closer to the time like nappies, wipes, toiletries. x

Yeah extra scans will be nice but I’m More annoyed the IND specialist didn’t tell me there is a risk of premature birth or low birth weight.
I’m being seen at the antenatal unit on the 10th to see what steps they want to take.

We’re going to book in for a private scan in a couple weeks so we can have some 4D photos.

I’ll be ordering the perfect prep too and steriliser when I get paid. We only have a shower so I need to order a decent sized baby bath too xx

Oo you all sound so organised! I think I'm the first one due in this thread cos my date bumped forward to the 30th July (but u let me stay with u lovely lot) and I have the least stuff! Got one baby outfit and that's it lol.

Work starts today on our house tho. Getting new downstairs toilet put in off our utility room then whole new kitchen and bathroom. Then supposed to be re carpeting once that's done. So house wont be finished until about a month before I'm due...6 weeks maybe if it goes to plan. So we will be doing the nursery once that is sorted.

I'm off work next week tho with hubby for a bit so we gonna do some big shopping days and get some stuff I like to ease my mind a bit x

Baby shopping is the best kind of shopping I think!

My belly has popped out more the last couple of days, I defo look pregnant now and I’m starting to feel him moving more now :) .

Hope all you ladies are doing well? X

My belly has started to show properly now !
A few odd colleagues who don’t see me as often just realised I am pregnant :-D
I am just 24 weeks now and it seems incredible!
Does anybody else feel like this is a big step again to reach 24 weeks?

I have been told off about shopping so I am having a break ! The only think I believe we’ll still really have to buy will probably be baby vests, and muslins and like wipes and the last minute stuff but we still have a few months to figure that out !

Here to break the trend:
Baby Girl, due 21st Aug :) <3

I was a little disappointed at first as I had been hoping for/ thought it felt like a boy, and felt really odd for about a week. We didn't know sex with our first (girl) so it still feels weird saying 'she' rather than 'it', especially when we haven't even met lol. Now, I honestly feel ok about raising 2 girls. If nothing else, I can finally train someone to do my hair for me at the back!

As for how I'm doin, I'm 24 weeks in and it feels like 34! She feels VERY low down. I almost crashed the car yesterday when she kicked; it felt like her wee foot was about to pop out of my 'me'!

Anyone else feeling kicks THAT low? Like, below the tummy line and behind the pubic bone low?

xx

We are also trying to sort the house. Honestly I think we probably needed to move, but we just didn't have the money, so we are now having to try and find places for all the random stuff we had shoved in the spare/ box room so it can become a nursery!

Stressful!
