August 2017 babies!

Sorry to hear about your Nan Prrrfect. I hope the funeral goes well.

That's rubbish some of your are suffering with pelvic pain. In my ovia app today it's talking about round ligament pain. Could it be that??

Loving the bumps Rose and Tasha. Might add mine later.

H4R, definitely take it easy. Hubby can do the cleaning. Put your feet up. I'm sure your relatives will understand if things are not quite as tidy and clean as you normally like.

Xxx

Ah good bump pics :) Mine is still all food baby I think rather than the real one :P I hope it starts showing a bit more soon, would rather like not looking just fat  Bought some maternity jeggings yesterday though and they are pretty comfy. Don't feel like my tummy is hanging out now which is good!

I haven't had any movements yet, at least I don't think so... but apparently my placenta is across the front of my uterus so that will dampen it for longer! Boo!

Thank you everyone for your kind words...
And I most definitely think my Nan would be happy knowing mum and I are coping and going to be happy.. that we are so lucky in so many ways and we will 100% make the most of that
Xx

I've had pelvic pain from almost the very beginning!!
If I go for a long walk or a long shopping trip I find it really painful

Lifting one leg and getting up from laying sitting & can feel like I can't walk :/

But I think not walking and exercising wouldn't be good either so il mention to midwife again as she seems to shrug it off on 1st visit..

Please let me know if anyone has any further information on it..

Charli so funny isn't it addictive buying things and now even more knowing we are having baby boys ♥️
You should share your list
One of my customers (I'm a hairdresser) has offered me all her baby boys stuff he's grown out of so quickly!!
Barely worn or not worn!
And his rocking Moses basket now he's gone into his cot!!
So picking those up tomorrow 😊😊😊
Il post pictures when I get it all out

Have a fab weekend everyone...
oh Charli I also have placenta at the front of my tummy..
Xx

Omg, just felt a kick from the outside.
Totally made my week.:cloud9:
Anyone else?

Xx

Not yet Elspeth! Tried a couple of times placing my hand on my tummy right after I've felt something but no luck yet, feels like it's a quick one-off jittery movement/flutter/pop! Also feels a bit too deep inside to feel I think. Awwww sounds so wonderful that you've felt it from the outside! :cloud9: Cannot wait for this feeling! xx

I've done it again and went awol for a few weeks lol sorry ladies! I've read through all the posts though, I can't believe the amount of little boys! I think I'm having a boy but staying team Yellow, I don't have a good track record though because I was convinced my daughter was a boy!

I know I'm a bit late on the bra chat but I was recommended the Asda comfort bra (£6) in my last pregnancy and I have never in my life felt comfort like it lol they are not one bit pretty but I don't care about that, I'm also pretty big in the chest area (36DD) and I find the support fine! I've not tried the ones with the thinner straps, just the sports bra style ones like this one, they also come in black and white!

I've given myself a little project for this baby and have taken up crochet! I'm really rubbish but hey baby won't be able to tell lol I'm attempting a mint green and white stripey blanket!

I got my 20 week scan date through for 31st March, il be 20+1 (but really I know I'm only 19+1) I'm still hoping they change the date, if baby is still measuring smaller I'm going to really keep on at the consultant to change the date, I think when it comes to the time I won't be able to be firm and say no to induction, in my head I would be all confident and then just be like ok you can do it lol my little girl came the day before her due date so hopefully even if i do go "overdue" I might not need induced! Fingers crossed anyway!

Hope all you lovely ladies are keeping well, il try and be on more often!

xxx

Thanks for that coach queenie
They are cheap enough too so definitely get some of those to try!

I'm actually bit worried as to what it's going to be like when milk kicks in as I would like to ready feed so would like to get a bra with clips on straps for easy feeding but been reading they go like balloons and rock hard then obviously go down alittle when feeding of pumping...
this means il need a fairly flexible bra!!

Taking about breast feeding who's thinking of giving it a go?
I meantioned to hubby about the minbie bottles and he's bought me one with 2different teetes..
as I'm hoping once baby is happy on the boob to try combination feeding so hubby can do some feeds too!
They have great reviews..

Elspeth WOW !!!
That's amazing I bet youl be feeling and waiting for movements all the time now!!!
How many weeks are you currently?

So excited for that and be lovely for partners and hubbies to feel..

My hubby has a nick name for my bump and I didn't realise intill I seen an article that this is quite common!!

He told a work mate and he was horrified!!!
He said you don't!!? You don't call it that!!!

He calls it the """bowling ball"" hahahaha

Anyone else got a bump nickname?? Xx

Haha the bowling ball! Really? Lol that's quite funny really, bless him :p Mine is just bump at the moment, though that might change when it actually becomes a bump!

I would like to try breastfeeding, but maybe combination feeding so that its not all on me all the time? I definitely will try breastfeeding though.

I will take a look at the bras, see if they have any instore :) Thanks!

Prrfect our nickname is pole because that's all we were able to see on the scan at 5+5weeks and it's just stuck from there 🙂

We went out shopping yesterday to have a look around and get a good idea what pushchair we want and nursery furniture as I had done all of my Internet research and wanted to see them in person. We ended up buying our pram because we got an extra 10% off if we bought it on the day in mothercare.

So we bought the Mothercare Journey in Teal so he thinks it's great because it looks sporty with the all black frame lol 😂

I can't wait to find out we are having on the 28th March at our 20 week scan. It just so happens to be our anniversary that day also ☺️

I breastfed my daughter for a year and I plan to give it a shot again... back to promoting Asda again lol but I found this bra perfect for the awkward balloon/rock stage at the start as they have lots of stretch and also very comfy to sleep in, and then when the boobs sorted them selves out then I went to mothercare and got fitted for proper ones because there is just no way you can estimate how big they will go once baby's born lol, they are out of stock at the min but hopefully they come back in

My LG took to normal tommee tippee bottles no problem but I have heard great things about the minbie! xx

I exclusively express fed my first for 8 months, she fed from me for a few weeks until I got terrible thrush problems and she refused but I was determined I didn't want to give up so that's why I started pumping. I used the medela bottles with calma teat for her as they are extremely good for going between boob and bottle.

With my son I breast fed in the normal way (not expressed) and he took to it great but fed every hour and a half so it was exhausting and all on me all the time because he refused every single bottle I tried and I tried a lot! Some babies just won't take one. We tried absolutely every trick in the book but nothing but boob would do! Got to 9 months and he suddenly would take one which was just as well as I had to switch him to formula just before 10 months when I got pregnant with this one and my milk disappeared.

I'll definitely be doing the same with baby 3 but I think I will try to do some expressing and bottle offering much earlier to try and get them in the habit x

Haha Prrrfect, why was he horrified? Has he got babies himself? My hubby has always named the little bean inside. Our nickname for the first babe was "the peanut" (size of it when we saw it for the first time on screen during our first ultrasound scan) and this one is "the blueberry" :D

I did combo feeding with my first and used the Medela pumping and feeding system, like Rose. Their Calma teats are of variable flow depending on the baby's suction, so the idea is that they simulate the breast in the way they work i.e. it's the baby's suction strength that determines the flow which "grows" with the baby. So they're meant to prevent nipple confusion and enable mummies to switch between bottle and breast without babies turning lazy and "forgetting" the breast (which requires hard work from them). I had no choice in my case with pumping and then later combo feeding as my bubba was very ill when born and had to have major surgery from which he recovered after 3 weeks in intensive care. During the whole time he was only fed artificially via his heart and only thing I could do was to pump to save my milk for when he was ready to have it :)

My advice would be to not use any ready made formula though until much later after breastfeeding has been established as supplementing too early might interfere with your supply by reducing it. xx

Lots and lots of love to all of you lovely mamas to be  xx

Fantastic advice experienced Mumma's!

Rose when you said you would start combination feeding breast and pumped, what age would you say?

And hoping for rainbow- that's sounds same as minbie principle as different flow teats, how did you warm up your breast milk when saved and fed at a later date, if frozen how did you defrost?

Has any mums donated breast milk ever?

Coach queenie those bras look ideal il get some of those when back in stock and use them for around the birth/hospital time and like you get fitted as my only concern is (I know I probably haven't a hope in hell but)
Trying to prevent sag! :/
I feel the underwire bras I've always worn have kept my big boobies up lol
I fear gravity!
But assuming most things will wrinkle and sag after a baby if I'm to believe what I hear! :/ hah

Looking for Moses basket sets - bedding sets as I have been kindly given a beautiful basket but would like a couple of fresh bed sets, anyone know of anywhere that sells them separately?

Whos finding out gender next has to be a girl this time!!?

Everyone should post bump pics making me feel better about the bowling ball, il try post bumper pic xx

Ah Prrfect I fear gravity too! Tbh I don't like my boobs anyway, so I don't think it will get any worse :p

I definitely think that we're overdue a girl... were at 5 boys so far (at my count anyway!).

My bump just looks lumpy at the moment, not round and pregnant looking... but I might take a pic tomorrow if I remember :) I'm short too (5'2), so hopefully it'll start to round out soon.

I'm 5,2 also!
Ahhh it's bad!!
I'd love longer legs!!
No I know what you mean- I'm not fond of my boobs because I think big boobs make me look fat!!
I like the idea of breast feeding because I've always thought they are useless and annoying!!
So make them seem worth having..
after I've finished having babies and breast feeding I may save to have a reduction if they are still big!
Be some much nicer having choice with clothes etc hard to find tops that accommodate them..

You should do a bump pic even if it's just for yourself..
what baffles me is if you google bump at 17weeks images
Loads of them look like they just finished slimming world after hitting target!!! :0

Il probably do 3 pics for an album just to look back on in a few years xx

I donated 3 litres of breast milk the first time round, I got a little badge and a letter telling me I helped 3 little babies, it was really rewarding :) I hope to do it again this time round all going well!

I won't post a bare bump pic because I'm destroyed with stretchmarks lol but I will do a clothed pic soon, I am so massive right now, I think I'm a lot bigger than I was at 20+ weeks the last time!

My boobs actually got a bit smaller after breastfeeding and the sag isn't that bad lol xx

Here is my baby bump mine also looks lumpy at the moment but just feels like has appeared in the last week and a half!

Ahh that's so nice... il look into that for sure I love the idea that you can help other babies get the goodness from breast milk from mummies who can't for what ever reason...
good for you.. nice thing to do :)

That's what I'm hoping for smaller boobies after but apparently it can go either way stay bigger or go smaller!!
Xx
