****** April Mummies!!!! ******

Yeah I would be doing it more to meet people really as none of my current friendship group have babies so it would be nice to meet some similar aged mummies!! Still can't decide whether to pay or not!

Pram shopping is so exciting, which ones are people looking at? I love the look of the silver cross wayfarer so hope it lives up to my expectations when I try it out!

Evening all,

Well iv just bought my nursery furniture!!!! Mamas and Papas Fern in white! It was the furniture I had liked even before I was pregnant but it was a little pricey. But now there is a lot off it, we saved £340! Then as we were ordering it my mum noticed a sign saying an extra 15% off the set. However it had been put there by mistake. So they couldn't give us the additional 15% but instead offered us a very hefty discount on a mattress! We ended up getting a mattress that would have been £150 for £45!!!! So it's all getting delivered on Sat 1st Mar. 6 weeks before the little one is due so that is plenty of time for us to rip the spare room apart and decorate!

However my drama of the day is that my phone fell into the toilet at work!!! It was only in the toilet for a second or 2 but its dead now. So I have it in a tub of rice to dry it out! Wish me luck girls.

How are you all?

Naomi I hope you feel better hun, toothache is the worst pain along with ear ache.

xx

I've no idea how to get booked onto the nhs antenatal classes, but want to go to meet other mums to be too. I don't know many people round here, apart from friends I've met because they're my OH's friends, so it'll be nice to have some mummy friends in my area.

We're hoping to get the mothercare xpedior pram, can't wait til we get it in the new year :D

Good luck drying out your phone leanne! And well done on your bargain!

Sorry hun, this is the teacher bit in me, but i'm Lynne! Hehe, no wonder there are loads of us!

Is there not a number in your maternity notes with your antennal info? My midwife has attached a list of important phone numbers and antennal is one of them. I go to aqua natal every tues and iv booked in to for a block of 6 antennal classes at a local parenting group that comes recommended from my friends who are mums! Starting in January and im looking forward to it.

I liked that Mothercare pram too! What colour are you going for?
xx

Oh God, Lynne, I know that too! I was so pleased I was managing to remember your name and then I got it wrong...:wall2: can I blame it on a cotton wool brain and dyslexia? I'm a bit the same, my headteacher is still spelling my name as Becky but I've always been a Beckie - feels odd seeing it with a y lol. If it makes you feel any better, I've got 2 boys in my class called Jared and Harvey and I've been mixing their names up all week :wall2:

We're going green on the xpedior. It felt quite unisex without being black, so if we're lucky enough to get a s3cond miracle it can be used again. And we love green, and it's also a bit to do with the pod thing :)

Hehe Beckie, no hassle! Especially in our line of work where we are saying names all day long!

I liked that pram and if I got it I was going for the green version too.

Buying and choosing things like the pram make it seem that little bit more real!
xx

Oooh yes, I know what you mean! It certainly builds the excitement :)

I'm the same with my name, hate it when people write Nikki and I'm Nicky! Silly what bugs us!

I've joined aqua natal and starting to get a few new bump buddies, still early days but hopefully get some new ones that I can meet up with after the baby is born

Oh gosh, I know, I have a friend called Lizzy and work with a Lizzie, I went to school with a Debbie, but the one at work is a Debbie, then in year 3 there's a Nicky, in year 4 there's a Nicci, and on governors there's a Nickie and a Nicki. Then there's the kid's names. No matter how hard I try, I always end up spelling Blu like the colour, Mercedez like the car...

Oops, the Debby at work is a Debby not a Debbie... I thought I'd be better at this after some sleep!

Morning all
Today I am doing nothing!! I'll maybe create a mamas and papas wish list for gifts but that's about it! Already had a bath and in clean jammies on the couch!

Ooooh I'm jealous Lynne :D
I'm just tidying and cleaning ready for tomorrow's impending MIL visit! xx

Just got back from work, and planning on spending the rest of the day watching films. Been in agony with my tooth and barely slept last night, so definitely getting my slob on now!!
Hope everyone is doing ok xxx

Oh I forgot you had that pleasure!! ;-)

Meh, I'm SO not in the mood at all still got a pile of work to do too. Pretty much zero relaxation this weekend.
MIL rang last night to tell us she would bring her old clothes to help us paint the nursery, OH kept saying it was fine but she kept on about it. In the end I picked up the other house phone and explained that it wasn't us being polite saying we want to do it but with it being our first child we wanted to do it together. She obviously completely understood and thought it was sweet but OH could've saved them a 20minute conversation if only he'd said that! Men ey!
I'm actually still in my jammies but mainly out of laziness ha! Xx

Really feel for you Naomi, toothache is awful when not pregnant and you can dose yourself up to the eyeballs. Let alone now when you just have to get on with it! :( You deserve to get your slob on and be looked after. Xx

I'm just back from hairdressers all pampered new colour and feel relaxed and tired now xx

Thanks Danielle. I'm having to look after myself as hubby is working 1pm-1am, but on the plus side it means I can watch whatever rubbish I want! Xxx

Hello ladies - just popping in to say hello!!

I had my 20 week scan yesterday and we are team blue!! I'm so happy :) Baby is looking perfect and OH is very excited at the prospect of having a son to take fishing :P

I have got such a stinking cold atm and I think A is getting in too and she is soooo grumpy and tired today - will try and catch up with the thread but I'm not feeling very optimistic! You ladies talk too much! :P

Hope everyone else is well :) xxx

Good on you Leanne, a bit of pampering is just what the doc ordered after your couple of weeks hun! So... are you a fun blond or sophisticated brunette?!

Gilly good on you hun, lazing about in your jammies is what us first time mums to be should be doing on a sat as we will never get to do this again without having to stop and change a nappy or make a bottle! The past few Saturdays iv done very little and enjoyed the tv!

Naomi I hope you feel better hun. Its awful saying it, but I love it when hubby is working backshift as I can watch all the rubbish iv recorded in peace without him moaning!

Well, iv had a productive day for the wee one. Bought the nursery furniture last night and today I found the nursery interior id like if its a boy!

http://www.next.co.uk/homeware/childrens-bedroom/nursery-furniture/9

Then I forgot that we have a jar that we've been popping loose change in to put towards the decorating and carpet for the nursery. I was shocked to discover that we've got £213 in the jar!!!! That's the plastering paid for. Hubby couldn't believe it. At least one of us if a saver.

Tonight it will be strictly, the xfactor with a curry!
xx
