My nausea started early today, late morning instead of tea time. I can smell something like warm tapioca that I can't pinpoint and it's making me worse. We're meant to be going for a meal, any opinions on going to a buffet place? It's one of the red hot world buffet ones and it's got 5/5 hygiene rating, I hope it'll be okay.

When I went last week I just asked about anythin I liked the looks of. There is no harm is saying ur pregnant and need to know what is in certain foods etc as you can't eat certain things. The waiter and cook we had were happy to help x

Ah i hate when i can't pinpoint a smell. I keep smelling something bad in the office like something is dying but don't want to say anything in case a) i offend a colleague if its them that smells or b) it turns out that i am the only one who can smell it and people will guess i am pregnant! Xxx

Cool thanks. I was thinking more of hygiene of things standing around, but asking about ingredients is a good idea too!

You could always ask about that too or simply see if they have fresh cooked food in the back xx

Haha Naomi, a) would be awkward! I'm used to the dead animal smell, it's what my dogs breath smells like, ugh.

3lilmonsters, could do that if things don't look too fresh. I can't make too big a fuss though, the people in with don't all know! I think I'll stick to safe looking things and discreetly ask if necessary.

Ughhhhhh Ive kept nothing down all day Ive eaten and constantly nauseous Im going to go Docs tomoz and get some tabs or something I cannot carry on like this everyday

Docs put me on same anti sickness tabs as I was starting to get dehydrated

Sorry to hear about you ladies who are suffering so much with sickness im only getting a sicky feeling every now and then so been quite lucky.......so far

Evening ladies, I've been away with work for 2 days & missed the forum!

Caught up with everything now, welcome to the new mummies.

Is everyone having early scans? Even moms with no medical reason? I still have nearly 5wks before my scan & I don't think I can wait, it's so hard. I just want to see the baby on the screen. Can't decide whether to pay & have early scan, will I see much at 8wks?

I am having an early scan due to mc last time, but I think even if we weren't having it I would probably pay for an early scan to help calm my nerves!
My scan last time at 7+4 weeks showed a little thing that looked like a jelly bean, and you could hear the heart beat etc which was amazing.

I am having an early scan due to 3 previous miscarriages, I am also seeing the consultant at the hospital next week to see if there anything I can do or take to hel ensure we keep this pregnancy, if I wasn't getting an early scan I would definitely pay for one just for peace of mind

I'm having an early scan as I had a frozen embryo transfer. It'll be at 6+6 I think.

Red Hot buffet was lush. What I discovered was the first 4/5 plates take away morning sickness. The next couple bring it back. Haha, I don't really think I've got m/s now, just a bad case of greedyitis. I just kept away from anything too dodgy looking, still managed to stuff my face. Hope the embie liked it. I felt sorry for him, like I was squashing him in there!

Morning all! 7 weeks today for me- exciting! Feel so bad for everyone experiencing so much sickness- it must be awful
Anyone like me not heard ANYTHING from mw yet? Still no sign of booking appointment or scan date! Getting really impatient!!!

Got my booking in appt today at 1pm. Perhaps chase your mw up if you haven't heard anything? Most surgeries have a policy of seeing the mw before 10wks xxx

Rab - I can't even get in touch with the midwife until i'm 6 weeks and even then I have to tell my dr who will contact them for me. I got my vvvfp 2 weeks ago and it feels like 6 weeks will never get here.

What a night. The sickness tablets Doc gave me made me worse... so at 2am this morning I had to go see the on call Doc who checked I wasn't too dehydrated and gave me some new tabs and put me on a bland food diet for abit. So was up until 5am this morning watching a film and having bland pasta.... never a dull moment in my life haha x
