I've got my booking in appointment a week today, Naomi

Laura, what did the doc say when you went about sickness? I've been feeling so awful but have been avoiding the doctor at the risk of sounding silly xx

I contacted dr who said to contact local maternity ward at 8 weeks, so the next 3 or so weeks are going to go in soooo slowly!!!

I am going for my (second) early scan on Friday!!!! FINALLY, i cant beleive what a palaver its been, even the past two days the phonecalls i have had to make. They dont do appts, its first come first serve as long as i have the referral (which was finally sent). Wish i could have gone tomorrow morning but im working

I hope there is a heartbeat this time and last time I was just too early! I'm sure there will be, must be positive!!!

Well,booking in appt today was fairly uneventful. They didn't take blood as they've said they do that later on at the actual hospital. Was in and out in 20mins!
The midwife is coming to my house next week to do a bit more paperwork apparently. She seems ok.
She did mention though that as i will be about 8+2 for the early scan, they may then not give me one at 12weeks????? Will be kicking up a fuss if that is the case!!! Xxx

Naomi, definitely kick up a fuss if that happens! How can you go happily into tri 2 if you don't get the end of Tri 1 scan as reassurance?!

They'll have to give you another one if you want the nt screening done, 8+2 is too early for that.
My initial midwife appointment didn't do anything either. Just gave me my notes, asked me to fill them in and booked me into the system. I've got my 'booking in' appointment through for 12th September and going by my dates I should be 10 weeks exactly but my early scan showed that I was a bit earlier than this so I'll just have to see what my dates are when I get my next scan on 2nd Sept and change the appointment if need be, there's no point in me going before then because they can't take my screening bloods before 10 weeks and might as well get everything done in one go!

Thanks ladies!!! Yeh i wasn't impressed when she said that, especially because i lost my first at about 9weeks so at 8+2 Im not even past my danger point!!!
Feeling quite sick and uncomfortable this afternoon. Feels like I've got a bit of a pressure in my tummy too, anyone else get that? Xxx

Naomi I don't why she would have said that - probably just having a bad day and wanting to be a bitch. But you need a scan at 12wks whether you've had an early one or not.
When I was pregnant with DD, I had a scan at 6+3, then another at 9wks, then my 12wk one - all on the NHS. She was just being a bitch.

This happened to me last one I had a 7 week scan do they did t give me a 12 week one do I went private. However I thought for medical terms te idea of the 12 week is to look at neural tube which can only be done between a certain number of weeks I think 11 onwards so you should still get that scan!!! Ask when that check is going to be done as it can't at the 8 week ( please check facts before quoting me haha) xx
