_>•~*X*~July 2015 Mummies-to-be!!!~*X*~•<_

I'm just 15 mins out of Newcastle Angela.

Never heard of popping evening primrose oil up there! You learn something every day.

There's a lot of information in my head right now. I'm going to accidentally end up popping raspberry leaf tea capsules up there by mistake.x

I'm using bio oil every night (bar the odd one or 2 when I forget) and so far have no signs of stretch marks.

Nice bump Claire x

Okay so managed to delete pic but not comments.....hmmmmm bed timw i reckon! Xxx

Can't wait to see nursery pics Claire lovely bump too :)
Oh crawkay not far at all really.

I had heard of popping something up there last time round but I'm not brave enough to do that haha

Nice bump Claire! I feel teeny compared to you (bump wise!)

I am slathering bio oil on morning and night and so it's still oily! My cousin got me about 10botttles from groupon as a Christmas gift! Can't hurt! X

I don't use it to prevent stretch marks. I've not read anything that suggests preventing them is even possible, sadly. You're either going to get them or you're not. I just like the moisturised feeling, a bit of a massage and the sense that I'm looking after myself. Plus it eases my itching skin.

On sleeping bags we mostly used 2.5 tog with ds, but it does depend how warm your nursery/wherever baby is sleeping at nightgets. If you can keep it below 20 degrees all year round then 2.5 tog bags are fine. But if we have a really hot summer you might struggle. So if temps are above 20, then you will want a 1 tog bag. In terms of blankets, as others have said, blankets are best for first couple of weeks for 2 main reasons. Firstly new borns like to be swaddled. They have just spent the last few weeks tightly packed inside us, so swaddling is reassuring at first till they get a bit more used to the world. Then secondly sleeping bags are usually too big at first, so you need an alternative. I think we swaddled for first 4-6 weeks roughly, then moved onto the 0-6 month bags. This has reminded me I'll need to check what togs are in what sizes. Ds was a Christmas baby, so our 0-6 month bags will all be heavier tog. So there's something else I might need. Still, no rush, 15 weeks to go plus 4-6 weeks once baby is here.

As for EPO capsules, the other thing I have been recommended y my consultant is perineal massage. Was told about this last time and couldn't quite bring myself to get hubby to do it for me. However I then ended up with a third degree tear. I'm lucky it HSS healed well, but I will be getting the massage done this time. Got specialist oil at ye baby show, but you can use any natural vegetable based oil. The one I've got smells a bit nicer though! Don't really fancy my lady parts smelling like a chip pan, even if it is just at night! Massage is recommended from 34 weeks onwards.

I've got shea oil that OH rubs in at night and smells delicious and then I got a money off voucher for cussons mum and me bump cream which I rub in myself when I get up in the morning. We've done the evening routine since Christmas (when oh bought me the oil) and I've been rubbing cream on every morning for the last 3/4 weeks!! No new stretch marks yet-I got a few when I went through puberty and when I lost weight drastically a few years ago!! I lost about 3 stone in 2weeks!! Although I've noticed 1 or 2 on the underneath of my right boob! I've prepared myself to be covered in them, but moisturising helps with any itchiness!!

I also bought a snuggle pod, which wraps baby up like swaddling would. Makes baby look like a peanut. I got the open arms one,but you can get them which swaddle arms too. I picked it up from toys r us!! It's got a little duck on it and had 40% off!! Can't wait to try everything out!! I'm even excited about washing all the clothes!!xx

Cramps have totally eased, thanks for the reassurance ladies. Think it did me good to just have a day of rest and to slow down a bit :-)

Thanks for all the advice on sleeping stuff. I'd been wondering about sleeping bags too.

Still doesn't feel real to me either BonzE! I think it will help when we move and can start properly sorting stuff as everything seems a bit on hold at the moment. One of the things I'm most excited about is washing the baby clothes and putting them all away! Any more news on when you can move in twinkle?

Definitely going to get myself some evening primrose, thanks Lacey. I've been using bio-oil for a while. It's next to my bed so I try to do it every night but forget sometimes. I've grown to quite like the smell- will always remind me of this pregnancy!

Hope the glucose test goes OK tomorrow Angela xxxx

Pleased your cramps have eased lola
I'm using bio oil but I'm rather forgetful.

Thank you lola I shall update you all tomorrow I cannot sleep and this heartburn had to appear the day I cannot take anything for it hehe

Good luck today Angela. Hope everything goes well.

No news yet Lola, but at least they did the new survey yesterday. Going to contact them to see if things can be pushed through quickly as I'd like to move whilst I'm on holiday!!xx

That would work out nicely Twinkle if you can do it when you're on holiday, fingers crossed for you!

Is anyone else having trouble sleeping on their side?! No matter what I do I'm waking up on my back all the time. I know that's not good so I move myself but there must be a lot of time when I'm asleep that I'm on my back. Not sure what I can do about it?! Xxx

Asked my midwife about that, Lola. She said she was often told 'I keep waking up on my back'. Her response: 'why do you think you woke up?' Body tells you to wake up and turn over. Don't be overly worried about it. If you're trying to sleep on your side, you're doing the right thing x

Ah that's good to know, thanks Loretta :-)

Aww that's a shame Claire, love looking at nursery pics! Bet it's nice having it all sorted now :-) xxx

Hi ladies

Didn't have the chance to properly pop in yesterday.

How is everyone?

xx

Hi Kwarbee! Well I have slept better last night which has made me happy and how have a four day weekend ahead of me so can't complain! How are you?, x

Glad to hear you slept better. I have vivid dreams every night and some of them are awful! Keep tossing and turning but still doing ok comfort wise!

:dance:Yay for Easter. Hope everyone enjoys the long weekend!

My OH and I are off to France early tomorrow morning (got to leave the house at 4am ) to see his parents. Should be nice but do I sound terrible when I say that I can't really be bothered? We don't get back until Monday 7pm and then it's back to work again xx
