 Crawkay, don't worry, we'll blame pregnancy brain!!

Yeah I've had quite few twinges and niggles in pregnancy so far but today it feels different, much sharper and more persistent. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about though.

Ooh, maybe you will be Team Pink too, what time is your scan on Saturday? How exciting, look forward to hearing what you'll be having!

xx

I'm just looking at the What to Expect When You're Expecting book and it has a bit about round liagment pain.
It says.... there are a wide variety of ways to experience it. The pain may be crampy, sharp and stabbing or achy. It can be brief or it may last for several hours. As long as it is occasional and fleeting, and there are no other symptoms accompanying it (fever, chills, bleeding or light headedness), this kind of pain is absolutely nothing to be concerned about.

Kwarbee - our furniture is from a local pine and oak furniture shop. Its a childs wardrobe so shorter with a rail and 2shelves and as the clothes get bigger you can take shelves out and a chest of drawers. Will upload a pic once its here :) come all build and is so solid as i hate flatpack with a passion! Hahaha xxx

Thanks Crawkay. I'm convinced that's what it is. It's common in pregnancy and it sounds like that.

My GP surgery is useless though. They've called me back and he said 'I've spoken to a senior GP and round ligament pain is very rare so she's not too concerned that it might be that' :eh: Eh?! They want to check whether it's a urine infection and said to take paracetamol. I have zero urinary symptoms.

Claire, I hate flat pack too! Hoping that the furniture we chose also comes ready built. It's good that the wardobe you've bought is adjustable, I like the cot beds for that reason. Hoping they'll last a good few years.

xx

My gp surgery is rubbish too
I saw the lady doctor yesterday she had a look downstairs to see
Turns out she thought it was thrush
She prescribed me with canisten cream for outside area
Started the cream last night no help as yet still itchy
Since last night and my four bathroom visits I have now started with a odour when I go to the loo (fishy) if I can explain it simply enough
Called the doctors again
They can't get me in today or tomorrow
She said bring down a sample today and someone would dip it
Then said she would write me a prescription for a self sample swab and a canisten pesary
: ( not very happy about it, scared as I have never done a self sample befoe let alone when I'm
Pregnant!
What do you ladies think? X

I would feel the same Laura, I wouldn't want to do a self sample, even if I wasn't pregnant. I'd be tempted to call back and say you're not really comfortable doing that and that it would be wrong to leave you with that discomfort for at least two more days. Tell them they will need to fit you in as an emergency appointment, if they have them xx

Yeah I really feel awkward that she has asked me to do that
What if I do any damage or
Even if I do it wrong and 5 days later they say I need to come in for another swab or thinfo get worse by then
I'm so fed up :( x

Is it safe to use a pesary when your pregnant? I think your not meant to use the stick
God I really feel uncomfortable about the whole thing :(x

Exactly. I'm surprised they advised that as inserting anything up there during pregnancy is surely not a good idea, unless done by a health professional I would've thought? I wouldn't have a clue and you're right that it could come back inconclusive as you're not sure how/what to do.

Have you spoken to your midwife directly about it? It's not fair of them and if you're not comfortable, which most women wouldn't be, then don't worry about hassling them about it, I would! xx

Thanks Kwarbee x
I haven't rang my midwife as yet to be honest she is useless anyway
Think I'll have a wander down at 4 do a urine sample there and then
Then speak with reception about getting an appointment and explain how uncomfortable I am with the pesary and self swab
Surly they can squeeze me in somewhere it would take like 5 mins of there time surly it's got to be of some importance for a pregnant woman with possible infection to be checked out : ( x

I know that feeling. It's terrible when we can't rely on our midwives!

I think that sounds like a good idea. They should definitely prioritise you, they've got a duty of care to. Best of luck, hope you manage to get a quick appointment xx

Hi Ladies,
Hope you are all well?
I got my downs results back yesterday & it's 1 in 391! They say this is classed as low risk but I still find it a little concerning! Don't know what to do really do you think it's worth paying for private testing or should I just speak to my midwife?
Xx

Laura, this sounds really weird but have you tried using live yogurt? I did on a pad and it worked really well. also no sugar or sweet things, loads of water! hope it clears up soon, I remember feeling like I was going to loose the plot...

Boosh, My specialist in Harley street said anything above 1/250 is low risk. I completely understand you are worried though. Where are you based? the scan I had was brilliant and they were able to do all the checks normally done at 20week scan. it was expensive though but I was under their care for other reasons!

xx

Wow, tough day. Not long (thankfully) but changes going on, so constantly being asked questions and having to have the answers. Mentally very tiring.

Laura sorry to hear you're having these hassles. Hope you find a solution and, more importantly, some comfort soon.

Pleased to have a quiet evening. Even the cat has decided it's time for cuddles and relaxing, and is currently pinning me to the sofa.

Hope everyone's had a good day. Hope the pain is easing for you KWarbee and you are feeling a bit better Laura. How did you get on at the doctors?

Hope you're OK Boosh. I'd definitely talk to your midwife about it. They might be able to give you some reassurance and an idea of how common it is to get those odds.

Doctor thinks I have inflammation of the sacroiliac joint and has referred me to physio. So hopefully I can start to improve it before I start carrying all of that extra weight around. I think it's the same thing as Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP). Does anyone have any experience of this?

Xxx

Hi ladies all sorted hopefully
Went to the doctors spoke with the receptionist and expressed my concerns
Saw a lovely nurse straight away she checked my urine which was fine
Checked my blood pressure also fine and even did my swab for me
She was soooo lovely even told me how to safely use the pesary while pregnant
Feeling a lot happier now and just got to wait for results on swap and have a go with this pesary later lol wish me luck

Hope everyone is ok thanks for your kind comments ladies don't know what id do without you all x

Ah that's great Laura, so glad they sorted it for you and you got to see someone nice and helpful. Pessaries aren't too bad, just wear a panty liner or something as some of the medication usually comes back out. Hope it eases it for you xxx

I second the pant liner!!

Glad you're ok and the nurse was friendly! It's snowed here, covered but melting already which is good, no time for snow!

Feels like the weeks are going in a flash! X

How is everyone? Laura glad you got sorted.

We went to the midwife this morning - heard the baby's heartbeat, midwife said its not part of the check ups - but she likes to do it :) Found out I'm A negative, so midwife thought I would need the Anti-D injection, but hubby is O rhesus negative, so she said I wouldn't need the injection as baby's blood type will be negative.

We had a cheeky macdonalds for tea and I was talking to hubby, I definitely felt a little hello from the baby - it made me jump - so either baby likes or dislikes macdonalds!

We have hubby's mum and dad staying tomorrow for the weekend as they live in Essex, so will be nice to see them and maybe go for a little shop.

Hope everyone has a good weekend xxx

Omg! That was awful
I was too scared to push it in too far and then (sorry tmi) when I looked with a mirror i could see it still
So pushed a little further and think it's about right
Hope so : (
Lying down now and keep getting a little fizzy tingly feeling down there now is that normal? Like some thing is leaking a bit? X
