_>•~*X*~July 2015 Mummies-to-be!!!~*X*~•<_

Morning ladies,

Thanks for all the advice on feeding. I think I'll go with your advice Toni and buy a small selection of bottles and a steriliser so we're prepared. OH is really keen to feed baby and I think he would be quite disappointed if he didn't have the opportunity to, so I think I'll be definitely trying to express and/or combi-feed, whatever works best for us when baby is here.

Sounds like you had such a tough time, Toni, I'm not surprised it brings back all those feelings again. Definitely sounds like you did everything you could and more! Thanks for sharing that and for your helpful advice!

Boosh, lovely pram!! :)

Claire, hope you're feeling a bit better about things and your midwife appointment goes well today x

Lacey, it's good to hear they've made progress with you lo's hearing. As Lola said, you were definitely right to trust your instincts. At least now you've been signed off you will have lots of quality time preparing for your little girl's arrival and you can sew lots more amazing pieces too! How'd you feel about it?

Laura, sorry to hear that you're still suffering. Hope the drops work and you feel better soon x

Congratulations on reaching the halfway mark, Lola! :) Hope your scan goes well tomorrow.

Hope you're all well xx

That's not a bad price bonze :)

Been to midwife I heard the heartbeat, everything's fine she took my blood pressure and checked urine.
She said last time it was bloods this time turns out bloods isn't till next time which is 28 weeks.
A bit annoyed as its a stand in midwife and looks like my original midwife won't be returning :( wouldn't be so bad but the Stand in can't even check things up on the computer hmmmm
14th April is my next appointment :)

I was one who was looking for which monitor to buy but we've gone for the Tommee Tippee one in the end, looks pretty good. That is a good price though, especially as I've read that's one of the best monitor brands.

Glad your midwife appointment went well, Angela. That's not great that she can't check things up on the system though. Maybe worth enquiring about, what if you had any questions about previous results, etc?

Thanks Boosh! I'm going to take a look xx

I thought it was you Kwarbee!!

I have decided that all products are probably much of a muchness and that I need to stop worrying about buying the wron one! X

I know, I keep trying to tell myself the same or I'll spend ages comparing them all on loads of different websites. I think with the top leading brands they are all very similar xx

How do I feel about being off...

Well... It should help my hip, so... Yay...
Plenty of time with DS so YAY :) :yay:
Plenty of time to sew, so that'll be good...

Also plenty of time to away from like, adult company... That could get lame quick. Need to make sure I get out of the house at some point at least every other day, just for sanitys sake.

Then there's the money worry... That's not good. Already put in a couple claims for different benefits, which I hate. The only benefits I've ever taken were three months maternity with DS.
Ive worked like 50 hours a week for the last ten years so... I guess it's kinda my "turn" to claim, but... Yeah. I don't really like that idea so much.

Oh well.

I'm actually glad they found a problem with DSs hearing. Sounds odd, I know, but, I just knew something wasn't right.
I knew he wasn't deaf, just... Obviously not being a medical expert I couldn't have said what was going on, but, at least now it's confirmed there's a (small, common) issue, and we can go about getting it sorted, so that's good :)
It is a perfect example of how instincts will just, kick in.

Gonna spend tomorrow having a "spring clean" around the flat, then mum an dad are coming up Thurs to look after DS while I go midwife and acupuncture, then I'm going back to theirs for a couple days, so that'll be nice.

Hope everyone's well xx

I've been holding out for a deal on the Angelcare monitor, thanks BonzE! :-)

Glad everything was fine at your appointment Angela. Hope the issue with the stand in gets resolved.

Aww Lacey, I know what you mean as I had to claim for a few months once and felt exactly the same. But times like this are what it's actually there for and it's all the bad press that makes us feel weird about it. You're totally entitled to it, especially after working 50 hour weeks!!! Hope you have a lovely time with your parents. Been meaning to say I'm gonna go with your recommendation of the Close Caboo as I wanted something stretchy/ comfier for when baby is really little and it looks great so thanks for the tip :-)

Does anyone know anything about reusable nappies? My cousin has lent me some and they are so cute and seem really easy to use as they're the all in one kind so gonna give them a whirl I think! Xxx

Was thinking I may have had a growth spurt in the last few days. Then OH asked for a cuddle and tummy got in the way. Definitely noticing a difference now.

Apparently I'm 24 weeks on the weekend. I'm sure I've managed to skip a few somehow...

Lacey, I'm glad work is sorted so to speak, take it as a time to look after you and sew sew sew away!! Also so good about ds ears and that it's nothing too serious and easily fixed if needed!

Lola chuffed you will get use out of the deal! It's what I paid for mine!

I have purchased reusable nappies, a brand from Australia...I will dig them out and post brand!. Got 20, and will plan to use when I'm at home/mums etc to help keep chuck away costs down! They are very sweet and so easy to use/wash!

I have come down with a stinking headache and achy body...yuck!

Planning a week in Cornwall with hubby in the next couple of weeks!

Hope you're ok! Xx

Morning ladies
V-Day for me today!!! :dust:
Bonze, hope you feel better soon! I love Cornwall. We're taking a trip down to Devon in May for a long weekend. We would've chosen Cornwall but it's too far for us for a weekend.

I know nothing about reusable nappies unfortunately. My plan was to use disposable ones but I haven't given it much thought yet. Those who already have LO's, what would you recommend?

Lacey, it's definitely your turn and you're more than entitled to it after how hard you've clearly worked. As Lola said, this is exactly when help is needed and you've not had much choice in the matter! Enjoy all the lovely quality time with your DS before your little girl arrives :)

xx

Happy joint v day Kwarbee! As for nappies Ive never tried reusable ones so I can't comment. I was just put off with if LO did s horrible stinky poo if I was out I would have to carry it around with me lol x

Ooh, yes, happy joint V-Day Roxy!

 That's not the most pleasant thought. I think if we was out and about then I would most definitely be using disposable ones. At home I can see why people would use reusable ones though xx

Don't reusables have a disposable liner which catches most of the waste. So if you are out and about you can put the liner in a nappy bag and throw that away so not having to carry it round with you, or have I got that totally wrong? Sorry we only used disposables with DS, neither DH or I fancied the idea of so much additional washing on top of what a new born goes through anyway!

Just worked out that I have exactly 100 days left until I plan to start my maternity leave! Which equates to 59 working days once I account for bank holidays and my annual leave to go to Tenerife! Can't believe that's all I've got left! And only 6 days to go till V-Day!

Yeah your right I think they do have disposable liners lol all sounds like to much hard work for me lol x

Mine have the option of the insert! And each come in an individual wet bag...watch this space, it could be an f'ing nightmare!! I bought into the money saving bit and they were so cute! You could sell me my own shoes at the moment!

Xx

Ha ha lol I do love the designs some are sooo cute! I dread to think how many nappies ive gone through! I recently bought a pack of newborn nappies ready to stock up and they are sooo tiny compared to my little girls lol x

V day for me today!! Yay!! Baby twinkle is very active this evening. Must be the concert we just went to!! Think baby enjoyed it. They are certainly awake now!!x
