well, after many tears, confusion, worry and a sleepless night my husband Kevin and I have decided to take the Amnio test after being diagnosed as high risk.

We saw the specialist today and feel we have covered all options in great depth and feel confident we have made the right decision.

Im in at 9:15 tomorrow.

The Dr at my hospital is a specialist and the only one there who performs them. Approx 120 per year and hasnt had a miscarriage in 4 years. As hes Egyptian hes very experienced in performing them as when he worked in Egypt ALL pregnant women have the test.

It made us feel a bit better as I really couldnt go 5 more months worrying and stressing.

I need your support more than ever now please guys!

2-3 weeks for results, we have also been offered the Rapid Test whih only tests for Downs, Edwards and Payau for £105 and we get them in 3 working days.

HOWEVER, IF a miscarriage happens it is usually within 2-3 weeks after (nothing can prevent but they advise rest for 72hrs) so Id rather not get the quick results in case of this.

Im a worrier so it wouldnt do me, hubby or Sprout any good waiting x 3 weeks for the results is better than 5 months x

Wishing you all the best, I had an amnio following my blood tests giving me 30:1 odds. Everything turned out fine, they are extremely careful and won't carry out the test unless they are sure they have enough fluid and are well away from the baby. Good luck xxx
