Put it this way...
1 in 221 risk of downs = 0.45% chance that your baby will be downs. Which also = 99.55% chance that your baby will be normal.
Amniocenticis test = 1% chance of miscarriage
So you've actually got more chance of losing your baby completely by having an amnio than you have that it will actually be downs in the end anyway!
And you've already said you wouldn't abort if it was downs.
Even someone who has a 1 in 5 risk from their triple test, still has an 80% chance of having a normal baby. These risk factors create completely unnecesary worry.
