Hiya!

We're trying to figure out our budget, and I'm really struggling!

We don't at the moment do weekly shopping, so don't know at the moment how much a week we spend, but also, we don't know how much we will need to spend.

What is your average shopping bill, and what are the baby bits?!

Thanks!

if you do a weekly shop your fresh meat and veg always ends up going out of date half way through the week. I wouldn't bother if I were you.

Thanks, but my question was really, what and how much is needed for baby per week; nappies, wipes etc.

Hey hon, it can vary massively and u will no doubt get a real variety of responses on here. I spend about 400 a month including nappies, wipes etc but also buy all our stuff and cleaning stuff in there too. I get vests or the odd pair of trousers etc or maybe a toy for Harrison too. I think I could do it lots cheaper to be honest so don't worry if you wanted to spend less xxxx

At the moment we spend aprox £65-75 a week for 2 adults and a 6 year old (I freeze any meat so it doesn't go off and keep fruit refrigerated) x I think the extra baby stuff (nappies etc) depends on several things-will you buy brand (huggies/pampers) or shops own (tesco/asda)? Are you going to breastfeed or bottle (bottle feeding will cost more as formula needs buying)? Will you buy branded wipes or not? Do you like organic/natural things (you can buy nappies and wipes made from organic materials)? X there's loads of variables to take in to account. I honestly don't think you'll know until you do it x

It really does depend on you...I spend approx 150 a week but that's for 5 of us! Wen baby comes il expect to spend about £25 more a week for 1st 6 months. When I've finished bf il prob buy 1 tin of milk a week and 2 packs of nappies was always enough, along with a couple of packs of wipes xx

When Lacey was a baby I only needed my child benefit so £20 a week for her nappies, wipes and milk! As she got older she needed less nappies and milk but we needed more food to make her dinner! I can't remember how much my shop used to be but now it's about £40-50 for all 3 of us x x

Wow! Can I have your shopping list please Laceys Mummy? I spend that a week on ME alone! (£10 of it is electric but still..)

I second that momma kat!!! Need your list lacey's mummy!!!

also if you can I find it better to buy when offers are on if I had the money spare with my other two and there was a really good offer on nappies wipes etc i would buy the months worth in one go saved loads.

with me and other off and what amy needs i spend about 40 quid aweek thats food for us and amy plus jars for amy and milk and nappies and wipes although i do buy branded nappies eery fought night and a bag of shop brand nappies and just cheap wipes atm i notice im using less nappies and sometimes 36 or 40 can last me a week so i have cut down a bit on nappies

I spend £40 on me and OH a week on everything, so when baby comes I'll try and save what I can and buy like tesco own wipes and stuff, if tesco own nappies are any good to me I will use to save money, and toiletries will be like tesco own so I am not spending an absolute fortune! Was thinking about £20 extra a week. X

Yep - Lacey's Mummy - really need your shopping list!!!! Can you be so kind as to let us all know?! ;-) At the moment, depending on my cravings, OH and I spent between £40-£75 just on us for food and household bits and pieces so i'm in the same boat as have no idea aout costings for when our princess is here :-( xx
