Heres mine -had a baby free night and decided to dig out my acrylic and set to. I usually pay someone to do them as its easier. Lazy mare!! ;-) do excuse the state of my cuticles. New files and my skin is cut to ribbons. Went to bed with bio oil on and gloves! Back to normal today. Xx

Does Bio Oil really work? I always have a problem with my cuticles. My hands are in/out of water daily with work so my cuticles & around the nail bed takes a battering. I moisturise throughout the day & rub in a Vit E oil at night. It make everything a bit better but never "fixed" the problem.

I quite like bio oil yeah. But my hands have taken a battering this week with bleach. They are horrific. I have been using olatium as well as its nice and thick but they are sooooo bad. I done natural nail training with Jessica Nail Spa and they have a great range of skin csre products for your hands and feet. They have a cuticle oil called Phemenoil I think but cant quite remember with my baby brain. Also i ve used OPI cuticle oil. Its good. The sectet is to use regularly. People use it once or twice and forget but still expect to see wow results. I shoukd really follow my own advice and use marigolds. My nails survive but my skin really hasnt! Xxx

Hey Girls :) Hope no one minds me popping in here, totally loving the nails! I have a few questions for the nail techy people :D So I have done a year of beauty where I learned how to do the quick dip acrylics, anyone used these? I know the normal acrylics are much stronger but I've had ago a few times and I'm not very good at them. Really want to get back into nails, not to make money, just cause its fun. So I'm going to purchase a quick dip kit, my questions are: Can you use this with coloured tips and pre-glittered tips? Like the ones you get on ebay instead of plain white or clear tips? Aannnnd..I know you have to have resin, activator etc but can you use any acrylic powder? Like it doesn't have to be the one in the kit? Cause I'm not buyin a new kit everytime I run out of powder.

Any help will be much appreciated :D xx

Ooooh, a nail thread!!

I have acrylics on all the time...wouldn't be without them! At the moment, I am just having them natural as then I can paint them. My own nails are all the way underneath and they seem strong. I don't plan on taking the acrylics off at all - do those who have them find they were ok with newborns, as I have one on the way at the mo.

I have acrylics and they were fine with my newborn, I just couldn't have them as square as usual had to get the corners rounded a little. Xx

Mine are Squoval anyway so I guess they will be fine :)

I had them when LO was a couple months old, and I hated it! I was always getting stuff trapped in them ie sudocrem so thought it was too unhygenic , and found things like fastenings in her clothes really fiddly. Xx

I have the shellac on every two weeks it goes over my natural nails and saves me so much time not needing to paint them with polish every couple of days. X

I'm well used to them as I have them on permanently...the only things I find awkward are ring pulls and picking coins up off the floor! lol

Im booked in for next week I can't wait to get some fresh nails x

This is why I haven't got my nails done since Jackson, I knew this would happen!

I get the shellac too xxxxx

Pic 1 is my nails currently
Pic 2 is my favourite manicure (Vintage/half-moon clear at the top of the nail bed.) also you get a very rare look at my engagement ring, as I don't wear it due to the size of my Wedding Ring!

Love your ring and nails, the nails do look very vintage and classic, lovely.

Same, I'm really wanna get the stiletto nails but can't because I'd prob end up poking holes in Jackson when lifting him or something lol just kidding but yes right at the moment I keep mine plain shortish filed and shellac.

I found jacksons vest and sleepsuits fiddley enough without having nails. I suppose others manage better but personally I like my shellacs for now..

Xxxxxx
