I have to say im VERY disapointed to see that 4 people have said they are voting BNP!!!!

Do you know what thier agenda is or have you been taken in by the hype??

i go to political counts and if the BNP are in the election they have security.

ive heard of searchlight and from what i can remember they do some excellent work!

I used to be a member of the ANL and went on many many demos against the BNP, and the NF, some violent some not, but all worthwhile in my opinion.

Just one persons opinion changed can make a difference in my view!

Women died to give us this opportunity and so many women worldwide still don't have the freedom to vote. Apathy does make us say 'what's the point' but how are we ever going to change things if we don't even try?

Too true Minxy, and men have died too- it has taken centuries in Britain for everyone over 18 to vote, it used to just be rich landowning men and not that long ago either. When my Nan was born women didn't have the vote, now we all do, it's so important. I love voting- it's a real thrill to feel democracy working, my Grandad used to say that if you don't vote then you don't have the right to moan about the people who run things because you've not participated. I saw Tony Benn speak at Glastonbury Festival a few years ago and he said that if you can't find a party to vote for then start your own or join one and change it because politics is about what we all think not about a special few and if we all want different things to be said and done then we should stand up and do it.

Bad people in this world would rather we didn't have the chance to vote, don't let them win. The value of 1 among a million zeros makes the sum of 1 not none- everybody counts.

Last time our Green Councillor got in by 3 votes and he's the only one in the Council so if the Green candidate gets in today that will at least be 2 environmental voices- it's not much but it will have an effect and last time it took just 3 people to make that happen.

Go and vote- it's not too late!

I know that alot of people will disagree with me on this one and im not saying i think BNP should rule but im saying that I personally think that there are too many foreigners in the country sponging off the government and planning to blow us up!

Im in two minds whether to post this as i know alot of people will disagree. I dont want to argue with anyone just wanted to voice my opinion.

I just want to add that I am NOT rascist in the slightest & welcome people into this country that are going to work for a living or need to come here for safety. I understand that people need money from the government on some occasions but there are lots that dont, just as there are lots of british people that do the same.

I think that when you said "asians against whites" that pretty much sums it up, its 2 ways. Im not disagreeing that this kind of thing has to stop, we need to control the aslyum problem and boot out all the terroists, but just think about the numbers for a second?

There are so many immigrants here that contribute to our economy in a positive way that they far far outweigh the minority that cause trouble, and to be fair....a lot of the trouble between white and asians is because of the "whites" misunderstanding of the ploitical atmosphere right now, believing every muslim to be a terroist which could not be further from the truth....my own OH and his family is proof of that!!!

I think the only people to blame for this situation are those in power. They make desicions that destroy lives and then cant handle the consequences!

Thats why its so important to vote, to make them accountable and say "if you mess this up we will vote you out!!"

Yes I do agree that whites are to blame too & I think in this country there are alot of mixed culture issues anyway. I just wanted to make my point that I think the government now make it far too easy for immigrants who come here to sponge & take hand outs.

theres us, our old lady next door neighbour and 2 families on either side which are white, everyone else on our road is from somewhere else lol

I think theres a lot of places like that (tho just for the record, ethnic minorities only make up about 8% of the population, so thats still 92% white!)

Bring on the multi-cultural society I say, without we wouldnt have half the things we take for granted now as far as food, music, art, etc go. Cultural diversity should be welcomed, and is by the majority.

I agree there are aspects of our society which need to be ironed out, such as terroism, racism, etc, but we will get there aslong as VOTE and get in the people who have a vission of a future that DOESNT invlolve things such as racism and terroism.....ie the BNP!

The trouble is people are scared with this continuation of a terrorist threat. And it is this fear that groups like the BNP play on.
We are all trying to live as one big happy culture, but we are not. UNFORTUNATELY there are two sides. Two beliefs, two ways of live that do not (no matter how we try) live harmoniously side by side. This is not just in this country, but on a global level. It is the same in other countries, immigrates arrive and instead of fitting into a new way of life, small sectors develop and people of the same cultures join and live together (think leceister, Birmingham etc) This has happened all over Europe, especially in countries like Germany.
We either have to accept each other beliefs/cultures, which unfortunately has never happened yet, or...........well it doesn't bear thinking about. I would love us all to live is a happy peaceful forgiving world, but as a race (human) we are no where near to achieving this.

For the record, I have no problem with immigrates or genuine asylum seekers and welcome anyone wishing to come and make an honest life here.
And I would NEVER vote BNP!

im not disputing that some areas have alot of ethnic people....

But another point is that a lot of these people are third and fourth generations.. so they are english.

Just coz they have a different skin colour.. or belief.. doenst make them any less british than us.

Yes we DO have to start excepting others cultures and beliefs, and many many people already do! Its just got to catch on I guess!
