Tattooist/Body Piercer

This is what I REALLY want to be doing as my lifelong career, the bit I'm having trouble with is getting into the industry

Was wondering if there are any tattooists or body piercers on here that wouldn't mind giving me some advice, I've asked in my local piercing salon but they arn't taking on apprentices at the mo, do i just keep pestering them? lol. There are also like 3 day courses around the UK, would they be worth doing to get me started? Any helpful info/advice would be muchly appreciated

my sister wanted to do this aswell and so far all shes done is a course on useing a piercing gun which she did at college as part of her beauty therapy course. She asked our local tatooist who said he was trained by his parents and as far as he knew thats the only way of getting into it. I think shes looked at doing one of those courses but there really expensive If i were you id just keep asking them if they can take you on or know anyone who could

I think you have to try and get in as an appentice somewhere.

I joined this http://www.uktattoostudios.co.uk/forum/default.asp just before I got my tattoo and I'm sure they advestise for apprentice postions - maybe worth a lookie!
