** September 2014 Mummies! **

omg popcorn!! i didn't get any easter eggs wah :(
oliver is a beautiful name!
what you struggling with alipops, can you not agree on a name? what are your thoughts kathy?
we've decided on ours! when we first got pg if he was a boy he was going to be thomas, and everybody knew that, so when we got pg again our first thoughts were to keep thomas but because we'd decided to keep the gender a secret, we obviously have to keep the name a secret! so we have decided on a new one. i really love oscar but we can't have it :( i love talking names! lets go lol :) xxxxxx

We like the idea of longer names that can be shortened - on the list at the moment are Elizabeth and Isobel…

Love Oliver, think it is such a cute name for a little one but great for a grown up as well.

Have you come up with any names yet nic?

We are also debating middle names - DH says he doesn't really see the point of them as noone really uses them - think my Mum will want a 'family name' to be used as a middle name - I am not sure though...

i love isobel, that's gorgeous.
OH wanted to do that middle name thing to, but he said if we have one we have to have the other and as one of his grandads is no longer around, his would definitely have to be in it, but errr alan is not a very nice name in my opinion
we've picked samuel :). xxxx

Think my Mum will have strong opinions on the name we choose, so we have agreed (I think… DH is sooooo loose lipped!!) not to tell anyone our decision.

I really like Isobel, shortening to Izzy or Bel, think DH likes Elizabeth slightly more (quite like the shortened options of Eliza or Beth).

I love hearing people thoughts on names - great suggestion on posting Ali!!

really? whys that? it's your child lol. yikes my OH is struggling keeping the gender a secret already slipped up once, maybe it's a man thing! i love isobel i think that's really lovely, and bel is so sweet to be shortened to as well. xxxx

My Mum is just a bit funny like that , it is not meant in a bad way - we told them that we are having a girl after the scan yesterday - we agreed to tell close family as they will see the nursery etc and soon guess by the colouring etc what we are having!! - and she said "..oh good I can start thinking of some names for her now.."

When we married DH and I double-barrelled our surnames, so we have ended up with a quite long surname. Her response to this when we were talking about our plans to have a baby was we must want a really short first name and was 'shocked' when I said no we are thinking longer names. She is just funny - she will get used to what we choose I am sure…. :)

Afternoon ladies, lots of chat going on in here :) I've been struggling with working anf extreme tiredness so only really reading and not posting.

Nic your nusery looks amazing, love the Peter Pan theme! Your oh is so talented.

Yay to the new team pinks evening out the blues.

Love the name Oliver lilmiss, nic why can't you use Thomas anymore, just because everyone knows it? Samuel is lovely too though. Love your girls names Kathy especially Isobel.

Our names are James David and Emma May xx

Hello Kanga - how has work been, I saw from your previous posts you work nights? You must be exhausted! Has your sickness settled?

I love the name James - before we found out the gender James and William were top of our boy name list.

Yeah I work nights 10pm-6am, its ok when there but hard to fit in sleeping during the day as I have 1yr 9month old to look after and no childcare options other than dh, who works full time plus extra side jobs (he's a mechanic) so always working on someones car.

I worked Friday night and was sick whilst there and struggled through the whole shift feeling dizzy and nauseous. I was hoping that at 18 weeks the sickness would go as it eased up from 14weeks with harry, so really fed up of it now. Went sick last night as pretty much slept all day yesterday and last night. Back in tonight though :( just thinking of the time and a half I will be getting paid for it being a bank holiday :)

Hope your shift goes well Kanga - night shifts are horrid at the best of times!! Where do you work?

haha oh gosh. i'm so glad neither of my or OH's parents get so involved like that although my parents are SO annoying sometimes. especially as gender is a secret!

thankyou so much kanga he really is! yes because everyone knows it already :( we are using the same middle name as we planned, james, as that is oh's middle name too. theyre lovely names! both my LO's middle names in there - james and may :D. you're having such a bad do this pg aren't you?! bless you :( xxxxx

At an esso petrol station, it's not that bad and I can sit when I need too. Amazing how many people come in overnight really lol It's less than 2 mins walk from my house too so ususlly in bed by 5 past 6 lol xx

Loving all the names. I love Samuel :) and Isobel is adorable. I like Isabella but oh flat out refused cos his dad's dog is called bella. Stupid man. We had Jessica hope and that's the name we will use for the next one if it's a girl lol. Love the name Emma but I'm biased that's my daughters name :) xxx

My niece is Jessica, it's a name I loved too. I remember you saying that your daughter was Emma, I think it's lovely and not very popular at the mo. Love the traditional names xx

I like traditional too think it's cos I'm old lol. She was one of 3 in her class lol xxx

Think Samuel is a lovely name, love Isabella also - men can be really funny for there reasons not liking names. I have tried to consider all of OH's choices though whenever I suggest something the response is always so black or white!

Hope tonight goes ok Kanga - at least you are not far from home in the morning so you can get some rest before little-one demands you attention.

Aww cute that you have the same names for your LO's middle names. They are both family names, all our names are except Emma. Even my son has family names Harry Michael.

I was telling dh last night that I want more than 2 babies, but I'm certainly waiting til harry and this one are in school/nursery before trying again. Least that way I get some time in the day to be sick myself lol xx

that's good hun at least you're not like a nurse or a construction worker  or something. thankyou lilmiss. ah i like isabella too that's beautiful, how sad :( i like emma too, and jessica, beautiful. i love solid names like those.. none of these new 2013,14 style names (sorry if you have lo's with names like those). i love the typical sophie, holly, emma, isabella. william, thomas, james, samuel, jack. good solid names! :D xxxx

aww. that's lovely :). that's a good idea to wait, especially as you been so poorly this pg :( you will have more time to recover at least if harry is at school or nursery xxxx

I have no idea how I would cope of I was a nurse! Although they have good sick pay schemes from what I know, ao I could be off work on full pay lol Instead I have a job that doesn't pay if your off, suffering on statutory sick pay the laat few months has not been easy!
I agree with you about names, the names at the mo are just too popular. In our group of mummies we have 2x amelia, jacob, harry, ava, chloe, elijah, isla and iefan. So a big mix, but some really popular names. Possibly another jacob if one has a boy in july xx
