Scan

Hi ladies,

I had a scan last Friday and the yolk sac was visible but no foetal pole.

I have to go back next Tuesday.

They are assuming that they've scanned me too early and they're guessing I'm 5 weeks.

Has anyone ever had this happen?

(Also I have no idea of a due date due to irregular periods so I can't even work out whether the prediction of 5 weeks is correct!)

Yep! I had my first scan around 5 weeks (5+6 I think) after some bleeding, and they could see a sac but nothing else. I honestly thought when I went back there'd be nothing and I was so upset. Went back a week later and baby was visible. Try not to worry xx

I had a scan at 5+6 with my son and only yolk sac was visible. I wS asked to come back 2 weeks later and the difference was amazing. Little jelly bean

Apparently the foetal pole can only be seen from 8 weeks So don't worry and good luck for the next scan!! Exciting!! xx
